I have to say, it is the BEST Indian food I had ever had which is surprising since DC has decent Indian food too like Rasika (East and West) but this place.. I dream about it. We were visiting Utah for a conference and was craving for some "Asian" food and Bombay Palace was heavily rated and mentioned based on the yelp reviews. We waited roughly about forty mins. The staff were really friendly and attentive. The moment we were seated, we told the our waiter what we wanted in hopes to speed the process as were hungry. HAHAHA. We ordered: Lamb Curry, Butter chicken, rice x2 , naan, and Indian beer. Here we go: EVERY single bite was heavennnnnn. The chicken was tender as the curry wasn't too overly spiced. The lamb was also tender (as we all know lamb does have a gamey bite) and the curry wasn't overly spiced. Washing the food down with the beer just hit the spot. Let me tell you know, my husband rarely does carbs aka rice, but he order another since he too claimed it was THAT good. This was the first time I have had Indian food. I wasn't sure what to get so I asked the waiter what he recommended. The waiter was so kind and very nice. He gave the suggestions for everything that we had and they were the best flavors. The naan was delicious!! I could eat it every day! They did not seem too busy around lunchtime on Thursday, but the food was very good and the restaurant was very clean. A nice place to go to for lunch! read more

Fair warning: it's a long wait. But you can tell it's because they're making everything from scratch, so it's worth it. Everything is delicious, you can't go wrong. I loved my experience at Bombay Palace. It was the best customer experience I've had in ages. Very attentive, helpful in selecting dishes and the food came out quickly. My water never made it below half!! We had the assorted snacks to start- delicious! Then our go to Butter chicken (we try it everywhere we go) and chettinad kolee (recommended by our waiter). The Chettinad Kolee was amazing. I haven't had anything like it. It will be my go to order. Definitely recommend. I'll be coming back! read more

Bombay palace is a hidden gem in Murray that you've got to try! We were craving some Indian food but didn't feel like driving to our usual spot in Foothill, so we decided to try a new place and we're so glad we did! Let me start off by saying that the service was excellent. They made our family with young kids feel welcome in their restaurant and even gave us several items that we didn't order that they felt the kids would like ( a chicken pakora and mango Kulfi - both were devoured by the kids)! It has been a long time since I felt like a restaurant actually cared about my patronage and it was just very generous on their part and greatly appreciated. The food itself was, for the most part, extremely flavorful and well prepared. We ordered samosas, garlic naan, chicken tikka, butter chicken, lamb masala, saag paneer, and chicken curry. The chicken curry was my favorite and the best chicken curry I've had, followed closely by both the lamb and chicken masalas. The samosa was cooked well but needed a bit more salt/flavor, as did the saag paneer (great overall flavor but just needed a little more salt to wake it up). The garlic naan was cooked perfectly but also needed a little more ghee/garlic flavor but that's not a big deal when it's just a vessel for sauce! The pistachio and mango kulfi were excellent, as were the gulab jamun. Bombay Palace is a great restaurant that you should try ASAP! read more

Wonderful new addition to the area. We were not intending to eat at Bombay Palace as we didn't even know it existed. We were in the parking lot to drop off a package at the UPS Store and decided to peak in. We were greeted by some friendly staff and had a nice chat, followed by a craving for Indian given the delicious flavors in the air. We ordered takeout, dashed home and enjoyed every delicious bite. It's not quite at the level of Mumbai House (our favorite Utah Indian spot), but it is close. read more

They just opened no more than a week ago and I'm looking forward to enjoying eating my way through their menu. It's a family business, everyone from the front desk to the cooks is family. The food took some time to get to the table but finding out that everything from the bread down to the chi tea is made at order fresh by a person and not a bag, makes it so worth the wait. Nice local restaurant that opened up not too long ago. Authenticity is definitely on point with the atmosphere, music, food and the staff are even dressed to impress. I felt like the food was higher priced for the quantity they give you, but the quality was there. I have a weaker palate and thought I could handle the medium curry. Nope! It was delicious but my mouth was on fire! I like how they gave the option for mild, medium and hot. The naan bread was a good size but they made my friend and I share a rice bowl. This is as if they took the Bengal Tiger restaurant from New York City and brought it to Utah. (See previous review) The food was perfection. It's like regular Indian place leveled up across the board. It's like going from 2D to 3D. It's like in The Wizard of Oz when Dorthy wakes up and leaves her black and white world for the technicolor world of Oz. Food: We had the Afghani chicken (weirdly, this item is not listed online) and chicken coconut korma. Both were excellent and extremely juicy, with good-sized portions. We also ordered onion, garlic, and Peshwari naan, all of which were disappointing. The onion and garlic naan lacked flavor and tasted the same. The Peshwari naan was unlike any I've had before - very thin and flat and not stuffed with anything, but tasted like it had a faint sprinkling of sugar and spice; definitely not worth the $5 price. Service: our server took a long time to return to us to take our order, but after that, the service was quick, attentive, and friendly. Ambiance: this has the same decor as the Italian restaurant (Celeste) that previously occupied the space, but it's pleasant. The booths were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. Wow!! This is officially our go-to place for Indian food. We arrived on Monday evening and it was quiet. We were immediately seated and given the perfect amount of time to review the menu. I ordered the mango lassi, which was delicious. We ordered the butter chicken and chicken tikki masala. Both were delicious, but we agreed the tikki masala had more flavor and was our favorite. I had a strange request and ask for them to add some cauliflower to the tikki masala. They forgot to add it and it was no big deal. I informed our waiter, Lucky, just so we didn't get the added charge. He brought me a half order of the chicken tikki masala with the cauliflower and gave us extra rice to-go. Service was friendly and fast. The restaurant was very clean. They went above and beyond. I highly recommend this restaurant. 10/10 on everything! read more

The food is okay, but most of the time, it's served cold, and the chai is often cold as well. I've been there three times, and my order has been incorrect each time. Strangely, the staff doesn't seem friendly toward Indians. On one occasion, I was even accused of ordering incorrectly when it was actually their mistake. Hands down the best naan I've ever had. They had a special clay oven flown in for it. Absolutely outstanding. The sauces and rice are delicious - my friend is obsessed with the tills masala and gets it every time; I've tried a few different things - so far far the tandoori chicken has been my favorite. The only critique would be for the cuts and texture of the chicken in the sauced dishes. Not terrible, but isn't consistent with the quality of everything else. Maybe they don't always have time for the yogurt marinade? Or they do it differently? Still worth going for sure. The staff is always friendly and the service is great.
