I had a very good experience at this location. My brow technician was Anou, she did an amazing job. I'm always worried about how things will turn out when it's a first time. We all know we can't deal with messed up brows !!!! I'm very picky and attach lots of importance to how my brows look. I chose threading (as always). She first cleansed off the areas I was threading (brows and upper lip). Then proceeded to ask me what shape I was aiming for. She drew a canvas and showed me what she would do. It wasn't painful nor discomforting because she was quick and her gestures were sharp and concise. Once done she offered to apply soothing gel (rose or aloe vera). I wasn't red and puffy. Perfect arched brows and clean upper lip. It was 38$. It's expensive and I believe it's because there is a massage. It would be nice to bypass the massage and pay less but I don't know if that's an option. Im overall very satisfied with the results. read more

Alright, I'm starting to regret some of the items in my previous post about this place. Over the last year, there has been great consistency with the "brow-ladies" - until today. All of the ladies have been encouraging brow-growth in certain areas - and I was proud of the development (seeing as it takes a LOOONG time for these areas to grow in) ... and then today's lady quickly zipped it all off - leaving me with one thick eyebrow; and one thin eyebrow in an "attempt to make the two level". Now the one she "fixed" is half the size and sits much higher than the other one. When you go to the location on 4th, WHO DO YOU ASK FOR? CAN YOU REQUEST A SPECIFIC PERSON? They burned off my eyelashes and sold me the wrong colour of makeup. It should be one star, but they did such a great job on the brows, I'm giving them two. Update: I just heard from the owner who was very sweet and is taking steps to ensure the safety of their tinting services. She seemed very sincere and is working to make amends with me. Been here three times. First time I came here, the woman gave me great brows! Unfortunately I didn't get her name, so I was unable to book the same lady again. BIG MISTAKE. Came a second time 3-4 weeks later, and a different woman threads them. She gave me two completely different eyebrow shapes. Each shape was nice, but they looked different and uneven, to the point where even my friends noticed and commented. I unfortunately didn't realise how different they looked until I got home and looked in a proper mirror, and took off the truly torrid and poorly done eyebrow make-up. They grew out (thankfully) and I decided to give them one third (and final) shot today, since my first experience was so great. The woman butchered my eyebrows. They now look the same as they did when I was tweezing them at home myself, which is the whole entire reason I spent 2 months trying to grow them out , and started threading them professionally. I didn't want her to butcher them anymore so I just paid and left. Will not be going back, and am hoping to high hell that my eyebrows can grow back and be salvaged. I gotta admit, I had my reservations. I was happy with my regular eyebrow girl (who does it for all of $5) and was apprehensive to go to anyone BUT her for fear that I would end up with singed eyebrows. But on a day of pampering from my friend she wanted to take me there so I obliged. What a pleasant surprise! The decor was lovely and colourful and very clean. Service was great, right from the receptionist to my esthetician. Jasmin started out by first giving me a consult as to where my browline should be, cleaned them up a bit (you have the choice of threading, tweezing, or waxing), then I received a relaxing upper face massage. Ok I just read that and yes "upper face massage" sounds odd but trust me it was lovely. I have been to Bombay kitsilano location many times and every time I walk out after the brow shaping service, my brows will always be on point. This time though, I tried brow tinting for the first time. I am quite worried that I will end up with a blocky brow that will make me look angry. After the technician wiped off the dye, I was scared at first because the color was a little dark for my liking. But she explained that the color will fade after the message, which felt amazing like always! The tint did fade, and it faded into a nice gradient that looked extremely natural. I have to say, Bombay Brow Bar is very beautiful in it's decor. Their staff are also very very lovely and attentive. However, after doing some research, the price points for their services could be considered to be a little on the steep side for what it is that you're getting. I like that its a full service bar - from consultation, to procedure, to healing, to makeup. I haven't heard or seen any other eyebrow salons include that in their services! One downer is the lotions that they usually use to massage into my eyebrows and forehead after the services ALWAYS make me break out in those areas! I feel confident when I walk out the studio, but then by the evening am completely self-conscious of the skin surrounding my eyebrows! A couple of years ago, in preparation for a high-level charity event I was to be attending (think cocktail dress, private K'naan performance and a $250 ticket entry) I was out and about in Yaletown when I came across a bold store front decked with fuchsia pink, gold and deep purple fabric named Bombay Brow Bar . Naturally drawn to bright colours, I ventured inside and instantly fell in love. Bombay Brow Bar (BBB) is a chic eyebrow bar, and as they state affectionately as well as very accurately, they rock brows- indian style. Co-Founders Ravy Mehroke and Amy Minhas have created a business completely devoted to the fine art of brow pampering, and for someone (me) who is a bit accident prone in the eyebrow department (serious scars from bad attempts at waxing, and no steady hand), this ultra-femme service was a god send. Since my first successful experience 2 years ago, I have become a loyal customer returning whenever I need a brow fixer-uper. Today I was in for my usual "bombshell brows" at the w4th location when I asked my brow technician if the brow colour I had been using - a dark grey eye shadow (sometimes I get creative in the make up dept) was accurate for my natural brow shade; and thankfully she re-directed me to the BBB line Hi-Brow Shadow. After showing me a few shades and matching one thats best suiting to my natural hair colour (ash blonde) she outfitted me with Hi-Brow shade Ash Brown. Of course, being the savvy ladies that they are, they include a complementary brow make up session card as well as some brushes with the purchase- who doesn't love complementary gifts? Now for those ladies (and gents) who are curious about BBB, I recommend checking them out- with locations in Yaletown, W4th & within the Shangri-La Hotel and a Service Menu that has something for everyone, you will become a #BBBaddict within no time. I got my eyebrows threaded, shaped, and a nice head massage at the end. I also got my upper lip and chin threaded. The front desk was super helpful in walking me through my appointment, and offered me something to drink. My beautician took the time to draw out the eyebrows and make them symmetrical. She checked on me at every step. After the threading she then put some rose aloe and offered to put on some makeup. I left very happy with the whole experience. It is a very busy place, at least it was on Friday afternoon, and people kept going in and out. They have 4 chairs in the back with 4 beauticians, all facing towards the center of the room. I had heard of this place downtown and never got around to checking it out, and then I saw that they were opening soon in my area in Kitsilano, so I was thrilled that I could just walk there and try it out. I made an appointment online (so easy) and showed up the next day. I had NEVER had my eyebrows threaded before. I was kind of scared it would be painful actually, even though I'd had them waxed and tweezed before. Waxing never never again. Don't do it! It pulls at the delicate skin around your eye and can make it sag as you age. Why did I wait so long to get my brows threaded? Well I didn't want to go to a sketchy hair salon for the first time and get them done in case I got a newbie or some freaky eyebrows after. I was thinking how nice Kim Kardashian's eye brows were (the only part of her I envy) and was wondering if it was possible to fix my uneven brows. They grow in totally different ways and do not like to behave. I just asked the girl there to "make them even" and she was like well I have to take a lot off. And I was like hey that's ok! I just want even! My eye brows were threaded.... I didn't really feel much pain. She asked if I was ok and I was like pfft I've had waxing and lasering done, this is a walk in the park! When she was done, I was like OH MY GOD why did I wait so long to have sweet brows? I have now put this in my budget to get them threaded every few months and then I will just tweeze them in between. Rock your brows - indian style! I went to this location once to get my eyebrows threaded and it was the best eyebrow experience i ever had. It was such a relaxing environment and i felt like a queen with the pampering. I got the bombshell brows - i had them shaped, threaded and even had a short massage. Its a little pricey but it was a good experience. All the locations are in vancouver, i wish they were more spread out over the lower mainland. read more

The girl I had that morning I went into do my brows was really good! OK so I used to go to this place in Richmond to get my eyebrows done for 7 dollars. That place was good, until the owner decided to mess up my eyebrows by assigning me a 'trainee' girl to do them. Lo and behold one eyebrow was thinner than the other, and one was definitely higher than the other. I was so pissed I never went back again. Thus began my quest for a new good brow bar. I've been going to bombay for the last year now. I've been to this location and the other one down by yaletown, both have been really good. My last experience at the kits location though was like the best one yet! The girl who did my brows immediately mentioned how one brow was higher than the other. My god was it still noticeable a year after that lady messed it up?! ANYWAY, she ended up fixing it, did what I wanted, was super nice and accommodating, and gave me tips on how to grow them out better, what i shouldnt be doing to them, where i should or should not pluck etc etc. Really happy with my last visit. 23$ may seem a bit steep, but I personally think it's worth the trip down and worth the money =) read more

I got my eyebrows done at this location back in November and the woman who did my brows absolutely butchered them. She removed almost half of my left eyebrow and it has yet to fully grow back. Since November I have had to fill my eyebrow in with numerous different products in order to not walk around with one and a half eyebrows. At the time of the service I told her I was unhappy with how much she had removed, and she told me that my eyebrow started there when I walked in. I have thick, full brows and that was not true. I was forced to pay despite being incredibly displeased. I will not be returning to Bombay Brown Bar ever, as I was incredibly unsatisfied with the service. read more

Ok so for the price, not that impressed. You have to book at least a day in advance, 25.50 just for simple eyebrow threading, I expected to be in LOVE with my eyebrows I've been growing them out for over two months and when they were finished it kind of looked how I do it myself with tweezers. meh, it's ok. I guess if you have really bad brows and need it maintained by a pro, then this place is good for that. However, if your brows just needs to be threaded and trimmed, you can go some where else for half the price. I beleive they charge around $20 which is kinda steep. They do explain how your eyebrows should look and they talk about arches and length which is good to know if you have never shaped your eyebrows before. Brow care with a luxury touch and price. This was my first experience with threading. It sits a few blocks from home and I've walked past the boutique-y spa nearly everyday since moving here. I had been completely curious, but this was the first time I'd actually walked in the doors. When I walked in, I was pretty certain this chique place, that was filled with well maintained beautiful women, had never seen the likes of my uni-brow. Nonetheless, I was greeted kindly with a cup of freshly brewed chai tea that I sipped while sitting with my "tweezer lady" as we reviewed the brow shape that I was most interested in. She held up a mirror, penciled in my desired brow shape and let me review it before she started in on the threading. They said it was going to be painless. They lied. OK, maybe if you had normal brows, unlike me, it would have been painless. She used a thread much like dental floss, wrapped it around the hair that fell outside of my desired shape and then she pulled them out with the thread. I could hear the hair ripping out, my eyes watered and I could feel the mutilated hairs falling all over my face. On a positive note, it didn't last very long. The threading was followed by a trimming, a little tweezing, a rose oil facial massage and a make-up application. My brows have never looked better. With tax and a tip, my threading came to $30. I've had haircuts that cost less than that. Granted, you'll never find a haircut that cheap in Vancouver. I came home and tried coaxing my husband into going in for their service for men: "boys' brow" threading. They claim to be able to turn your man into a 'brow boy hottie.' I went here for the first time today and was really impressed by the decor and everyone was friendly. Obviously the price point is quite high so I expected it to be an awesome experience. I felt that it was really awkward and the fact that I had to sign multiple waivers was a bit odd. They ignored what I said about what I wanted for my brows and told me that they had to wax them a certain way for them to remain even. I now have two completely different shaped brows. So glad I went here. These women are pros at shaping. My brows look great. The only caveat is I have sensitive skin and it got a couple of tiny nicks in the process (much better though, than another brow place in the city, which gave me multiple cuts). When I phoned them the next day to let them know, they promised they would be extra careful next time, and I'm hoping they will be as I would like to come back. The makeup they used afterwards was perfect - very natural looking and not overdone. It's a bit pricey for me; I look forward to growing out my brows a bit and coming back once in a while to keep the shape clean. read more

I've read enough reviews from the female patrons - time for a male's perspective. I started going to the Kits location because I was curious about the service. I used to have my brows waxed but didn't like how they grew back in. I heard that if I got them threaded, the grow in period is longer between services. As I'm curious by nature, I followed my instinct and walked in. Fortunately for me they had an opening and I was seen right away. I honestly don't remember much about the first service. But suffice it to say, I was impressed enough to book a future appointment and have been doing so for the last year and a half. The main reason for going back is because of my brow tech Jas. She has made sure to clean up and shape my brows in such a way that they look manicured without being too thin or effeminate. She always knows how much pressure to apply for the forehead massage too. I don't have a uni-brow or caterpillars above my eyes, but I'm particular about my appearance and she always makes sure my eyebrows are done to my expectations. She has yet to disappoint. I've developed a friendship with both her and the location manager. I'm always greeted by name and I love how they're all smiles when I walk in. I can't ask for better treatment than that. I live in White Rock and could go to a local threading place if I choose to. But since I'm always given such excellent service at each appointment, why would I? The drive to Kits is worth it for me. The location is much more convenient for me than the one in downtown. The place had a modern East Indian look to it. I went there for eyebrow shaping. Since I had threading done before I think the girl did a pretty good job. There was a little eye massage and offered complimentary eye brow makeup touch up. Even though it was a bit pricey but the overall experience was pretty good. Now I have beautifully arched eyebrows. When I left, she even gave me a little report on a card letting me know when I should return. How helpful and conevenient!! read more

I got waxing done here and it was the most painful experience of my life. It did not feel professional and left many hairs half in. I got a horrible reaction and have to go to the doctor. I have an event coming up but I am covered in rashes and little red bumps! Threading services are great but waxing is awful. read more

I don't know what happened, but I went in to get a touch up and this woman Rani might as well have taken a razor to my face and drawn two sharpie lines above my eyeballs. To give you a reference point, she took enough hair off that I can see half an inch of untanned, raw skin beneath both of my now sparse eyebrows. Normally I go to Anastasia's in LA however, I couldn't wait. I was went w/o an appointment but that was no problem (it was a weekday). I suppose they must get lots of drop-ins considering the foot traffic around its location on 4th. I didn't have to wait much, just barely enough time to look at the "menu", although I knew that I just wanted the most basic of the brow treatment. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The person who took care of me (her name escapes me) was very competent and listened to what I wanted to be done and made suggestions. She also talked about what she was doing, which I found helpful. I think it was a little noisy and I found it hard to hear her at times. I guess the price can be better but it's pretty comparable to other places in the area (like Bloom). Efficient and friendly. Love this place! My daughter and I were warmly welcomed and made to feel pampered. My technician took a lot of time to make sure I understood what she was doing and how to get the brows I wanted. She finished off my session with a fantastic head massage and makeup on my brows and eyelids. I even bought a package for more sessions. I'd definitely recommend them. read more
