I honestly don't think that it is possible to find a better deal on a storage unit in the area! Especially not one that Offers 24/7 access, climate control, and an Area where you honestly don't have to worry much about anything! It is on a piece of private property with what I believe is an apartment complex or maybe even a house. (separate from the storage unit building) The building itself looks like it may have been an old barn which makes it very unique and gives you a country kinda feel. It seems to even smell like hay when you walk through the wooden hallways. The only thing I would suggest is having the automatic light system be set to stay on a little bit longer when there is no movement. A few times I was inside my storage unit organizing when the lights in the hallways went out due to no movement. So I would have to walk in the pitch dark for a moment to get the motion sensor lights to turn back on. But really that's the only suggestion I would make! The owners are super friendly and I will definitely be recommending this place to anybody who is looking for a decent sized unit for a very good price! I am actually surprised that not many people have discovered this local gem! Forget U-Haul! Forget the pricey big name storage facilities and support your local business with this super fabulous find!! :)

When it was time to retrieve their possessions, myself and a few others helped empty out the storage unit. Apparently a snack food company rented the whole other side of the building to store their snack foods. Then, by mistake, they left their doors open for a while. Needless to say, squirrels got into the unit and all the other units. Just about everything had to be replaced due to squirrel feces and urine. The whole unit was loaded with feces. The furniture, clothing, toys, paperwork, photos, etc were covered in them. The smell was horrendous.. When brought to the attention of the owners, all they could say was "sorry". They said they would speak to the snack food distributor and maybe they could work something out. After a few calls and no returned calls, nothing was ever done. I think both of them were responsible and I think they could have come to an agreement and helped this parent. How many single parents can afford first and last months rent on a new place and then have to buy everything all over again? I would not recommend this place at all. Their customer service is severely lacking and all they care about is getting the rent checks every month. If you don't care about your possessions, then by all means, use this company because they don't care either.

My family rented a Uhaul box for a cross country move. The box was delivered on April 23 and picked…read moreup on April 27th. It had a "guaranteed " delivery date of May 12. On Sunday, May 11, I called the local U-Haul office. They assured me that our box was already there and would be deleted to the new house the next day by noon. However, later that evening, I got a text that the truck was delayed. I was unable to speak to anyone until Monday as the Ubox team is not in on Sundays. Monday morning, I began trying to find out what was going on. After speaking to the local office, texting the Uhaul box team, and even calling the carrier, Global Trans, still nobody could tell me where the box was or what was going on. Eventually I got a text that the truck was having mechanical issues, but they still couldn't tell me where the truck was or the extent of the issues Today, Tuesday,I got a text that the truck broke down in Texas! Since it was picked up in Colorado and was headed to Maine, it had to have broken down shortly after leaving Colorado! Yet, we were just made aware of the situation!. I have filed a complaint and am waiting for a supervisor to supposedly call me. I still don't know what's wrong with the truck or how long it will be before it gets here! Meantime, all our belongings except for what came in our luggage are in that box! I can't speak on the phone to anyone in the Ubox team. I can only text or email. I will never use this service again. They have bad days but are always professional. They hire good people. When I need a hitch installed, about 4 in 30 years I wait until I am up in Bangor to have them do it. I dealt with this large U-Haul branch at the tail end of two recent rentals I completed: one for a…read more5 x 8 storage trailer I pulled all the way from Florida, and also as the arrival spot for a u-Box full of our possessions that U-Haul transported the same distance for us. It is only fair to state that in my direct interactions with the employees at Odlin Road (and indeed at all locations), they were polite and helpful. But it seems like the policies of the national U-Haul company get in the way of good service when bad things happen. I was delayed by a couple of hours returning my storage trailer due to the trailer ball loosening frighteningly on the way there, so I arrived after hours. Now they have a night drop procedure, but there were no signs there describing it beyond telling you to use your smart phone. But parts of Maine, including Bangor it turns out, are rough spots for our previous phone carrier, and I couldn't access the night return information. So we left the night return service lane and moved the trailer to the section where they kept them all. When I got back to our new home, I emailed the facility and let them know I had dropped it off, including the license plate number and the trailer number on the side of it. I called the next day to make sure they had received the email. The person didn't know but thanked me for calling, and later I was charged for an extra day of rent. (Also later we changed our phone carrier.) That was the trailer. With the U-Box, it didn't arrive on the expected day and I didn't receive a call to let me know it would be late. I phoned this same Odlin Road location and a gentleman was earnest and polite but said the U-Box transportation department handled that and he couldn't help me. O-Kay. I worked for a national insurance company for 15 years and it had several large, far-flung departments, but I wouldn't have lasted three months if I told customers that a screw-up was someone else's fault in the company so I couldn't help them. I would arrange assistance for them and then get back to them. Again, a national company weakness, I assume. Days later I received a call from the U-Box transportation department saying that my new "Guaranteed delivery date" had to be changed again (we had never been told there was a previous new guaranteed delivery date) and the U-Box would now arrive eight days past the original date. And so it did, damaged, we noticed, but thankfully the contents we had packed were fine. A day or two later I called the U-box people in Brunswick and again spoke to a nice and helpful person who arranged my refund for the guarantee, but I doubt I would have received it if I hadn't called to remind someone. Indeed, despite how helpful she seemed, I will monitor the credit account to make sure. I should stress that when the U-Box arrived at the Odlin Road location, they were very fast delivering it to us, so again, it seems the policies and procedures of the company as a whole, not their people, are what get in the way of a satisfactory rental experience if something unforeseen occurs, as it did with us with both rentals. On a final note, if you phone the Odlin Road location and it rings through to their call center, you might want to hang up and try again in a while. I got the call center once and she gave me a different number to call, perhaps to enter a different rabbit hole of unhelpful interaction somewhere else in the company.
