I went there with a list of questions to ask but not really sure where to start. But after our meeting, I had a clearer picture of what I needed to do to get my business on the right track. Robert was very attentive, listened to my concerns, and gave us the advice that we needed. In short, I felt safe and definitely would consider him when it comes to tax season this coming year.

So I went to TaxHelpCo for my taxes this year. I provided all my records on 1.27.12. Supposedly…read morean email was sent to me on 1.31.12, however I did not receive one. On 2.19.12 I called to receive an update/status on my taxes (this is 3 weeks from my file drop off date mind you) and I was told they hadn't even started on my Loss/Profit portion of my taxes. Another email was supposedly sent to me again on 2.19.12...which I also did not receive. So I gave them a call today, 2.28.12 and received an update via email a few hours later and was asked to confirm the receipt of the email. So....I did: I'll be in tomorrow to pick them up. First I want to say thank you and I appreciate your firm handling my taxes as well as the profit and loss report. I do want to say, however, that the level of customer service I received I thought was extremely poor. Not only did I not receive an update on an eta that I had requested, but not one person from your firm even attempted to follow up with me when there was no return of information. Since my communications with Laura have all had quick turnarounds, I would have thought that my non-response would have been an indicator that I didn't receive the request for info. If I hadn't once again called to get a status report, I don't believe there would have been resolve anytime soon. Taxes are an already stressful situation, but this experience really did make it worse. My apologies for the scathing email and I don't usually write them, but I feel I have to be honest about this situation. So I appreciate your thoughtful response. As for your comment that we never attempted to follow up, this is not true. I personally emailed you January 31 and February 19. It is only today that I learned that those emails did not reach you. Today I determined the email addresses came from the questionnaire you completed. The new client questionnaire was the source and admittedly was a bit difficult to ready. I will shoot you a copy. On my end I think that we need to do a better job of reading email addresses. Did you not think it strange that you sent an email to your client and never heard back from them for 3 weeks to which you decide another email should be sent...and you still did not receive a response???? Then he said he wasn't taking any new clients right now. She jumped back on the line to tell me what I already heard him say and said it exactly as he did. Regardless if you're good at what you do, professionalism is still a thing and they missed the bar big time. Put the call on hold and kindly jump back on the line to explain new clients aren't being taken on. Don't just rudely brush someone off that took the time to reach out to you in regards to a service you provide. Glad I called before stopping in so I could make the right choice before letting them handle anything.

Prior to her, we worked with 2 others who did not suit our needs. Janie reconciles our accounts at the end of each month. I also asked Janie to start running payroll for us on ADP. Janie is great at collaborating with my employees. They often email her with questions, or ask her to amend or delete an invoice. She also sends us the necessary financial statements at the end of each month, and the 1099 amounts for our contractors to our tax accountant during tax season. She is very responsive to our requests and concerns. She usually responds within a few hours. Janie has a pleasant personality, she is very responsive, she is patient with my employees when they make mistakes entering client payments into Xero (sometimes they will enter payments into the wrong account and she re-enters them for us, which isn't within her scope of duties), and she always tries to help with any requests that we may have.
