I am writing this review in regards to a Consultation for a small business in San Jose. We had our consultation with Robert. I went there with a list of questions to ask but not really sure where to start. But after our meeting, I had a clearer picture of what I needed to do to get my business on the right track. Robert was very attentive, listened to my concerns, and gave us the advice that we needed. In short, I felt safe and definitely would consider him when it comes to tax season this coming year. read more

So I went to TaxHelpCo for my taxes this year. I provided all my records on 1.27.12. Supposedly an email was sent to me on 1.31.12, however I did not receive one. On 2.19.12 I called to receive an update/status on my taxes (this is 3 weeks from my file drop off date mind you) and I was told they hadn't even started on my Loss/Profit portion of my taxes. Another email was supposedly sent to me again on 2.19.12...which I also did not receive. So I gave them a call today, 2.28.12 and received an update via email a few hours later and was asked to confirm the receipt of the email. So....I did: I'll be in tomorrow to pick them up. First I want to say thank you and I appreciate your firm handling my taxes as well as the profit and loss report. I do want to say, however, that the level of customer service I received I thought was extremely poor. Not only did I not receive an update on an eta that I had requested, but not one person from your firm even attempted to follow up with me when there was no return of information. Since my communications with Laura have all had quick turnarounds, I would have thought that my non-response would have been an indicator that I didn't receive the request for info. If I hadn't once again called to get a status report, I don't believe there would have been resolve anytime soon. Taxes are an already stressful situation, but this experience really did make it worse. My apologies for the scathing email and I don't usually write them, but I feel I have to be honest about this situation. Sincerely, Michelle To which I received this LAME email response: Hi Michelle, I am in receipt of your email. Sometimes it's good to get some feedback rather than none. So I appreciate your thoughtful response. As for your comment that we never attempted to follow up, this is not true. I personally emailed you January 31 and February 19. It is only today that I learned that those emails did not reach you. Today I determined the email addresses came from the questionnaire you completed. The new client questionnaire was the source and admittedly was a bit difficult to ready. I will shoot you a copy. On my end I think that we need to do a better job of reading email addresses. Again thanks so much for your comments Michelle. The good news is that we have your correct email now. All the best, EXCUSE ME! Did you not think it strange that you sent an email to your client and never heard back from them for 3 weeks to which you decide another email should be sent...and you still did not receive a response???? I had to flipping call you after 3 weeks I get a ridiculous update and then I have to call you yet again 9 days later to find out what the status is on my taxes???!!!!!! WTH! I guess TaxHelpCo is just booming and really can't be bothered with the Latina with a small business! Well don't worry...you wont have to help me again. Have a great day! read more

I love it here! We have been coming here for years and working with Arnie in particular and he has always been extremely friendly and knowledgeable. With our situation, we have some difficult things for him to deal with and he has been amazing in everything he does and is always very responsive to any and all additional questions we have before and after our yearly meeting. I have even referred multiple friends to Arnie and a couple of other friends are going to be using them this year for the first time. They will email you and call you etc. and you can even email your files to your person that you are working with as necessary to help expedite any processes and avoid having to make any extra trips there. I am emailing my paperwork to my guy before I have my appointment so he will already have copies of everything he needs etc. Once you have gotten your paperwork all turned in and they work on it, you come in to sign the paperwork and they give you copies of everything and the rest of your original W2's all together in a nice little prepared packet! read more

We have been getting our taxes done with Arnie for years. The amount of advice we get while we are there plus the assurance our taxes will be done properly is worth every penny. Payment takes place at the time we go back to pick up our forms (in a nicely prepared packet), not at the time of the actual appointment. We will continue to go here for our taxes every year. read more

Our experience with Robert Tracy and Tax Help has been exemplary. We find we get tremendous value for what we pay, so I'm not sure about the experience of the other "buyer beware" reviewer. We did pay more in the second year, but that was because we added a home business into our tax return mix. Also, the first year was fairly basic, so we actually paid less than the original quote. Comparing with friends' accountants, it seems we get way more service for way less money. Robert is also extremely helpful, knowledgable and down-to-earth in addition to being personable and professional. We're starting up another business and he's given us great tax advice on how best to proceed. He also doesn't nickle and dime you with charges like some service firms might (eg. charge for every question or phone call). We really like doing business with him and will continue bringing our tax needs to him and highly recommending him to others. read more

Robert Tracy is great to work with. He's done our taxes for three years now, with some complicated issues involving inheritances, refinancing, medical expenses, multiple employers per year, and many other flies in the ointment. He has handled everything perfectly and promptly. He's knowledgeable and experienced and extremely trustworthy. I heartily recommend! read more

I just came out or Robert's office as I wanted him to check over my Turbo-Tax work and see if I qualified for a home buyer's tax credit on a home bought in early 2010. Unfortunately, the numbers did not work out for me due to income level. Robert also explained the concept of how taxes chase the money and I had some ideas (bad ones) which he set me straight and educated me on. All of this took at least half an hour, including reviewing my return. He provided some advice on tuning up the 2010 return with an IRA investment and kindly asked if he had answered all of my questions. I asked him how I could settle up and he said the advice and time was at no charge. I know that time is money when it's 3 weeks from April 15th, I am going to get an early start using his advice for 2011 and will recommend him to fellow co-workers. He's in a great location, easy to get to. BTW, I spent almost 6 hrs preparing my Turbo Tax return, it's not worth the time, just go to Robert. read more

This is probably the worst place to go and have your taxes prepared. Horrible customer service or I should say there is NO customer service. read more

Robert Tracy and Laura helped with my mother's payroll. I was very pleased with the level of communication and service.

We have been working with Tax Help for years. Arnie was a great person to work with, and was confident in the service we would continue to receive when he retired. Robert has run the business beautifully, and every year we are people who actually can look forward to a quick and (relatively) painless process. Advice is given and questions answered to try to prevent need for corrective action in the future. I have and will continue to recommend their services. read more

Robert Tracy was a God send! This is the third year Robert has done our personal & corporate taxes, we only wish we had found him many years before. He is on top of all and any tax questions. He has also advised us on what are the best possible financial solutions for our future. If he doesn't have an answer, he has a network of people who possibly will. His fees are extremely reasonable and we will be going back every year. We absolutely recommend Robert for all and any CPA and tax requirements. Also, his staff is always polite and courteous. read more

I have had my business for 13 years. I have used Robert Tracy and his staff Laura Nepita for 3 years now. As I wrote a recommendation for them to my nephew for his business I realized I should let others know about their services. They are excellent. They do both book keeping and my sub chapter S and personal taxes. They are efficient, timely, responsible, and responsible. They always deliver on their commitments and deadlines. They will work with you and your staff finding solutions to the way your business works and not waver. They are smart and quick and act as if your time is valuable so they won't waste it. No emotional load added to anything - they assume you have your reasons for your decisions, they stay with the facts and work to answer your questions. I have had good book keepers and tax preparers before (and one or two that weren't so good). Robert and Laura are exceptional people with integrity. I recommend them highly without reservation. Something I rarely do. read more
