Though our ambition was the full menu, we had to skip the secondi piatti and go directly to the dessert, as we were so full. The antipasti consisted of 3 small dishes, one of those was the palamita - a relative of tuna and mackerel. The fish was cooked with tomatoes, and the flavour was well-balanced. Amazing what they created with such a "simple" dish. I wouldn't have minded seconds or even thirds of this. When walking around my friend and I had talked about what to get - fish or pasta. The primi was spaghetti with fish and tomatoes. Spot on for what we wanted. The only minus was our wine (good in itself, but we didn't think it did the fish justice). When mentioning this, the wine was promptly replaced with another. Amazing service from a wonderful staff. All in all, I'm definitely coming back next time I'm in town.

And the food was very good. As the name of the restaurant, you'll easily be able to locate this trattoria by the large two towers in the Centro Storico. Smaller inside and very charming, you'll find a small number of tables. Service was very friendly, fast, and efficient. I chose to go with a glass of red (5 EUR) and the seabass prepared Ligurian style. The fish was served whole; with also smaller olives and roasted potatoes. It was very good, and lightly seasoned. I finished with a due espresso, and I believe my final total was just around $30 USD. Cute little trattoria, in a quaint area for walking around and exploring the town too.

The atmosphere is a little old fashioned, as if the place is frozen in time, quite charming. Prices are moderate, the food is good and simple (matches the decor). Nothing fancy there, but I liked my stuffed anchovies and my husband was happy with his pesto pasta. The house wine is cheap and good enough. We were both happy with our dinner.

However, some opted to be added to the dinner reservation list. The restaurant is very busy, and waitstaff are bustling around. There was a sizable lunch group, so they can accommodate large groups. Everything we had was delicious. They are part of the "slow food" movement, and the dedication showed in their food. We ordered: Lasagna - I've never had a lasagna like this. Very, VERY thin sheets of pasta supporting layers of tomato and pesto sauce. The portion size was on the smaller side. Fantastic. Pesto - When in Genoa, you must try pesto! Perfectly al dente tossed in a vibrant and fresh pesto sauce. Seafood pasta - special of the day ~ I think this had mussels and local veggies, was pretty good. Fish + potato - This was a toss-up, but a unique (at least to us) combination. Fish flesh is mixed with mashed potatoes. Prominent fish flavor and heavy on the tongue, likely due to fat/flavor added to the potatoes. Finished with a dessert (pine nut cake) that we honestly could have done without. Had the same thing: gnocchi al pesto, insalata mista, and a half liter of sparkling water (it amusingly actually said "sparkling " on the bottle, not "frizzante"). The coperto is €1.5, but Mario (there really is a Mario) rounded down to 10 even. Great place. (P.S. An old menu was still posted outside. And the bread was not fresh one night, but fine the other. But between broken english, google translator, and hand signals we got it all done. Food was fresh and outstanding. Waiter was happy to offer suggestions from both the menu and wine list. Dining room overlooks the sea. Get off the beaten path and take a cab here!! You won't be disappointed.
