I felt like I had been punished for reporting a crime and that Hobby Lobby's Headquarters and management would rather turn a blind eye to ignore or cover up crimes committed by other employees.

Several weeks ago I had several pieces of art that needed framed. I took the measurements and popped in. Problem: my the art was too big! Nat asked if I needed help, I definitely did! She patiently listened as I explained my situation. She smiled and said to bring it in and they will take care of me. The next afternoon I arrived back, art gently rolled up under my arm. We discussed the frame, using acrylic instead of glass so it's lighter, the mat, everything. Nat explained the way the frames are priced and helped me pick the mat to compliment the art and discussed the pricing and the value. Two weeks later, my piece was ready to hand. They included a wireless mounting kit.

Long Version: I had been looking at getting into RC cars for awhile and had settled on a brand and model on my own after extensive research. Traxxas Bandit for $189 seemed perfect for me. It was reasonably priced with good standard performance and features. I was looking online but everywhere I saw one, it said "could take up to 10 business days for delivery" and I really wanted it sooner so I started looking around in town. A different store had one and they were nice enough but I didn't know the $189 didn't come with battery/charger and wasn't quite ready to spend the cash. When I WAS ready, I decided to call a Hobby Town instead because the other store was a little dirty and while the employee answered my questions, they weren't very personable and when I thanked them for their time but said I wasn't aware of the full cost and I'd have to postpone my purchase, they just kind of stared off and didn't say anything. Like they were annoyed I didn't spend any money after I took up only approximately 5 minutes of their time. Not the worst customer service but still far from the best. Norm at Hobby Town however was wonderful from the beginning. I perused their site to make sure they had what I wanted and called to confirm. Norm answered with an enthusiastic and upbeat attitude, answered all my questions, reserved the unit behind the counter for me and said "see you later" in a way that seemed he was actually excited to see and help me when I got there. When entering the store it was the same way, happy greeting and warm smile. I explained who I was and again he seemed excited. This made me feel very good about my choice to purchase here instead. Again he answered all my questions, made recommendations when asked for them and was even nice and acknowledged my children when they asked or told him something. The second person told me there were four of the item in a local store about 30 minutes from my house. Together, we were able to get the order to go through if I was willing to pick it up at the local store. I drove to the local store where they told me they did not have the order yet and it would take about an hour to receive it. They suggested I go back and find the item on the order and bring it up to the register and they would take care of it that way. I could not find the item, and the manager of the store told me they never had that item. An hour and a half later, the store still didn't have my order, which means they cannot cancel it. In the meantime, there is a hold on my debit card account for the amount of the order. They don't know when it will be taken off. I called customer service again and even a customer service manager who told me that their website is not dependable. It is not kept up-to-date in real time and it often shows items in stock that are not in stock. He didn't know how long it would be before the store received my order. He said it could be three or four hours. It's not really a surprise that Joann is in bankruptcy. They don't have a handle on their inventory, and their customer service is nonexistent. .

I made the mistake of trusting the ties and while unloading from my vehicle, one of the items came apart, fell and shattered. I believe the store should bear at least partial responsibility for improper assembly. The store manager was having none of it. My fault 100% but they would check like items in inventory to fix the problem. At Home may fix the problem for someone else but they sure didn't fix it for me. My fix will be shopping elsewhere.

There was a real friendly employee who helped me with all that I needed and she was very polite. She talked me into applying for a Michael's credit card and by using the incentive of a customer using the Micheal's card they would get an additional 20% off their first purchase. She easily talked me into getting the Michael's card. She was very helpful and the posters turned out terrific. I asked if I should pay for the frames when I picked them up or now. She said, "You've already paid for them." Life is really very busy so I saddled up my horse and got back out there in the real world. Then several months later I start getting all these harassing calls from a "Comenity Bank" about overdue bills, late fees, fines, and threats of lawyers. Despite me providing Michael's with my correct home address and phone number when I applied for the card. Using my old address, they sent the initial Micheal's card and subsequent Micheal's bills to an address that is 3 years old. Me thinking this is just a huge misunderstanding or perhaps it's all a big scam I call the local Michael's store with questions about this "Comenity Bank" and that they all have foreign accents. I wanted to know if Comenity bank was legit. A young Michael's manager tells me, "That Micheal's is totally unaffiliated associated with Comenity bank." I said, "Yes you are! Comenity Bank does your financing card. You are directly and irresolutely connected with Comenity Bank." I left a message and my phone number with the Micheal's manager guy and stated, "That I would like for the store manager to please call me back." After 3 weeks and no return call from Micheal's, the nightmare continues when the calls from Comenity start again. What a complete chaotic disaster. Dear Micheal's - WAKE UP CALL - You have partnered with a very shady and unscrupulous outfit in Comenity bank!! I am canceling my immaterial Michaels card and will never step a foot in your stores ever again!! I plan to tell all friends, acquaintances, and family how screwed up your organization is!!! Your KCMO/Liberty, MO. Michael's store manager refuses to return my calls. Giving you a "1" on your yelp review is a generous assessment on my part.
