Schwantes Hearting fixes your LIFE quickly and pleasantly when the timing that your air…read moreconditioning goes out couldn't be worse. Exceptionally hot, whirlwind summer week when our air conditioner decided it had enough, Rockney from Schwantes Heating showed up and had our AC up and running inside of 30 minutes and on top of it was so pleasant during his service visit - he fixed they entire mood of the house before he went on to save the next person's day. Everything from the initial call, to the service visit (even gave us a a reasonable window to plan for), being able to fix the problem on site, at an extremely reasonable cost and efficiency was how Schwantes became the only call we will make for future needs and the one we will recommend to everyone. Special thank you to Dave and Rockney for exceptional service.

The next step was for them to have a sales person call us and discuss estimates for a new machine. In the meantime we discovered an on/off switch on the back of the machine. It works. Two weeks later I never got a call back. I disputed the charge. They fought that dispute. They must really want that $180.00 so when we called to ask for a refund for basically no services rendered, they insisted on sending someone out again. Another employee looked at the machine and said it works but we have to run it manually. I see no problem with that. We had him look at our thermostat that they installed years ago. I asked him to see about a warranty or replacement. He said a sales person would get back to us. Guess what? Nobody got back to us! I'm out $180 and nobody to check on a warranty for my thermostat! I filed a charge back again but they fought it and somehow won.

Called Justin on a Friday. Said he would be out following Monday. Never showed. Finally texted me on Thursday and would be out on Friday. No show/call/text. Reached him the next week. Tons of excuses followed by another week of false promises. Finally showed up with apprentice. Crappy job. Tankless water heater install. Charges $600 and it failed 1 hour later. Day after day he says he will be back in the morning. The short of it - I had to call another electrician to re-do his wiring. Another $350. $950 plus water heater and other parts. But, after 4 weeks of backyard showers, I finally have hot water. Do yourself a humongous favor and take my story into consideration before you call Justin. He will now respond to this review with more lies. Good luck.

Found pipes that were not soldered just placed inside the heater and don't really know the person who came out was a plumber in fact. I would never use this company again. I figured Michael G. the president of Valley plumbing would come back with a lame excuse. So, for my edification I called two different plumbing companies with two different plumbers, Veterans Plumbing, and KB Plumbing. I asked them to tell me where the water on the floor was coming from. Both independent plumbers agreed on the same issue that there was a crack inside the tank and when the water was hot enough the crack opened up and the water would leak. Also, both companies indicated that this Brock White had rust inside, is this reasonable for a new water tank, I don't think so. I will see you in Court

There are no words to express how much I appreciate Mr. Steiner and all the guys at this company!…read more When you move to a community, you always wonder what kind of relationships you will forge. We have lived in River Falls for over 31 years now and Steiner's have been our go-to for plumbing and heating for nearly all of those years! Recently, my son purchased a home in Hastings, MN. I was trying to find a local electrician to install 3 new ceiling fans but found it difficult to find an electrician to return my calls. When one finally did, he was going to charge me $2600 for install 3 fans which I had already purchased!! I called Mr. Steiner to ask if that was a reasonable cost and he told me it wasn't. He then offered to talk to his son, Matt, and they would put their heads together and see what they could come up with! He called me back and Chris, one of his MN licensed electricians, came out just 3 days ago and put those fans in for me! THANK YOU! I know I can never say it enough! If you need plumbing or electrical/heating, call Steiner's! Mr. Steiner, Matt, Joe, Kevin and Monica and Trish in the office are amazing to talk to and work with!

We shopped around and ultimately selected Steiner to install a new boiler for an old baseboard…read moreradiator system. It seemed fine at first, but had issues maintaining pressure. We had them come out the first time to adjust it, for a fee of course, and were reassured it was totally normal. The next time it happened we called a different place that thought the whole thing was installed strangely an didn't really want to work on it. We had Steiner come back the next time the pressure dropped again and this time the guy kept chatting us up while doing the repair and then stood around talking about the history of boilers, etc. Little did I know he would then charge us for that full time - in addition to the drive to and from their office, which happens to be 30 min away. Of course they had never mentioned this service fee when installing the system, but now we're expected to pay almost an hour of labor for them to show up to fix a chronic problem with their own system. Most recently I had come up with a solid guess of a minor issue with the switch for our zones. I called and explained what I thought the problem was, they came to service it, and I told the tech exactly what I thought was wrong. He quickly ruled that out and then went on a wild goose chase checking thermostat programming and batteries before realizing it was actually the controller I had asked him to look at and replaced the $120 part. Weeks later I get a bill for almost $450 claiming 2 hours of work PLUS a $40 service fee. I had carefully written down exactly when the tech texted, arrived, and left and it was 90 minutes tops. I waited 2 months to get a response to my emailed complaint, which was basically: nope. So, we are definitely done with Steiner and unless you live in River Falls WI I would not recommend. Much better value in MN HVAC contractors.

These heat waves have been so hard on our family. Being low-income and dealing with severe health issues and a teenager in the house, I was incredibly anxious about how we would survive the heat, especially since standard grant programs had funding cuts and we couldn't do a loan. I called the owner, and he was incredibly compassionate. He sent a technician out to inspect our system completely free of charge. They diagnosed a bad capacitor and a blown fuse and fixed it on the spot. They got our cold air running perfectly without forcing us into a costly replacement we couldn't afford. They are honest, kind, and truly care about helping their local Stillwater neighbors. If you want a company with real integrity, call Springborn!
