As the owner of Boldmere Motor Company and having just seen this young man's review I wish to respond and to take issue with him over the content and the tone of his remarks.
As a Company we have been supplying top quality vehicles to the local population for almost 20 years and have a reputation for after sales that we know is second to none. We know this because our many regular customers keep returning and tell us so. They tell us that it is the main reason they will only buy from us.
The Toyota in question stated to be "priced at just under £3,000"was in fact £2,495 and was sold on the 21st of April to an extremely happy customer who gave it a thorough going over and declared it to be the nicest he had seen. It is easy to spot a similar car online for £2,250 but did he actually buy it or did he just appraise it purely from the pictures? The reason I ask that question is that if he had bought that vehicle I have a feeling he would have said so.
Now to reply directly to the reviewer and in respect of "the Staff's pushy sales banter," although you do kindly concede that my Staff are at the same time "friendly," my Sales Manager, using his experience, had formed the opinion in talking with you, that you had no intention of buying the car whatsoever but was insisting on a test drive without any kind of deal being considered. We are always alive to the fact that many young men would like a "joyride" in a sports car whilst often not having the wherewithal to buy it, nor indeed, to insure it. However, we did get the car out of the showroom for you and took you on what I am assuming in view of your remarks was a very satisfactory test drive. You decided to leave as you were "unsure about the colour and condition of the interior" perhaps you could have decided on that before we emptied the showroom!!
Your warning about pricing and better deals elsewhere is not only completely without foundation but I consider it to be maliciously damaging to our hard won reputation. Having looked at your profile it all becomes clear as you state that you are a "Young writer/reviewer for hire, fresh out of Uni." And have submitted some 165 local business reviews since you started "Yelping in May 2012."
Could I offer a little old world advice? Before you write a review of any Company, THINK, get your facts straight and be wholly truthful. You are a young man trying to get a foothold in the working environment as a reviewer, and I wish you well, but not at the expense of others by trying to self aggrandise and pretending to know what you are talking about. I would be more than happy for you to call in to see me at any time and maybe we could discuss your review and perhaps enlighten you as to how we really look after our customers.
