I was extremely disappointed in the treatment I received at this chiropractic clinic. I have a slipped disc that occasionally flares up and my regular chiropractor has moved, so I contacted this clinic and received an adjustment along with xrays at my first appointment. Unfortunately, the adjustment that I received was the usual "lie on your side and bend your knee" type... It did not seem to be geared to my condition. Nor did it help....
At my second visit, I got the same kind of predictable, routine adjustment, along with what felt like a sales pitch, where I was told that I needed to see him three days a week for three months. I decided that I would base my decision on the effectiveness of my adjustment(s). Later that night, I was in excruciating pain, which confirmed my doubts about the type and effectiveness of the adjustments I was receiving.
Upon my return today, this chiropractor did not ask me how I was feeling, nor did he seem to care about the effectiveness of his last treatment. Rather he only wanted to talk to me about whether I could see him three times a week for three months! I told him that I could probably get there two days a week, at which point he told me that he could not help me and showed me the door.
I have never been told by a doctor that they would not offer treatment unless it was totally on THEIR terms! My allergist treats me regardless of how often I see him. My cardiologist is clearly more concerned with my condition rather than seeing me only upon some artificially constructed schedule. I believe that people like this chiropractor give chiropractors a bad name and results in the stereotype that they are more interested in making money off of you than in helping to remedy your ailments. What kind of doctor refuses to treat the sick and injured unless its on his own terms?
I cannot help but feel like I was being strong armed into a commitment, regardless of its effectiveness, and sent away when I was reluctant to commit to an extended treatment schedule without first being given the opportunity to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment I received.
My advice is to stay away from this place and find someone who cares more about you than high pressure tactics like this. read more
