I found Rosie on yelp and was excited to see she was only 15 minutes away from me. I have been seeing her since July and wonder sometimes what I have done without her. Not only is she a attentive, knowledgeable, and supportive teacher but is also a wonderful person. I now consider her a friend/big sister and someone I can bounce any idea off of. She pushes me when I need to be pushed (physically), offers ideas for practice outside of the studio (physically and spiritually), and has made me a yoga-convert (I used to HATE it, but one session with her and I am now obsessed)! If you are debating whether to schedule a session with her or not I am here to tell you to stop debating and do it! You will not regret it and it may be as life changing for you as it was for me! P.S. If you're a dog person I highly recommend asking her to bring her dog Kaz down to join you during your session (I always do). If you're not, no worries! Kaz will stay upstairs waiting for my return ;)

Erin varies the class depending on what we want to do: sometimes we're feeling more relaxed and want to work on being stretchy and sometimes we want to feel worked out. She always seems to be attending a new workshop and learning new ways for us to further our yoga practice, which means that after 5 years of classes with her, we're still not bored. Also, she's just a great person!

The thing I love about Erin as a yoga teacher is that she is really laid-back. I am a klutz, to put it mildly, and not a fitness guru AT ALL. But Erin tailored the classes to my ability level and never made me feel inadequate. She was so positive! She also helped me with some neck and shoulder pain I was having, and gave me some great tips on exercises I could do at home to further alleviate the problem. She really tailors the class to each individual or group. Plus, as a prior reviewer mentioned, she is constantly doing classes and workshops to learn new techniques and practices to share with her students. As a lifelong learner myself, I really appreciate that and think it makes her stand out as a yoga teacher. Later on, my mom came to NYC for a trip and we took a private class together with Erin. My mom had taken some yoga classes back in our hometown, but she commented that Erin was the best instructor, and led the best yoga class, that she has ever had. For those of you who value the yoga lifestyle as a spiritual practice as well as a physical one, you should know that Erin lets her yoga practice infuse all areas of her life. Which means that she is just a delightful person, in addition to being a really excellent teacher. And finally, I think her prices are very reasonable. She will come to you and lead a class in your home which you can share with friends in order to cut the cost. Erin has experience leading partner yoga (where the exercises use two people's bodies to partake of stretchy goodness) and expertise in children's and adolescent's yoga, too. Thanks for all the yoga, Erin!

When I began my journey with Michele at Beyond Body Mind Spirit, I expected to grow through…read moreguidance as a young professional. I never imagined how much she could help my personal growth. Though I encounter many personalities daily, I have never met someone who listens how Michele listens. When working with her, I was often surprised how her sensible feedback showed me wonderful new ways of interpreting situations, which led to one of my favorite lessons: seeing the world differently...wow. She communicates in ways that is so clear and has taught me other huge lessons -ones I now use daily. For example, when it comes to anxiety management, Michele has been a life saver. She knew how to push me to first recognize and then actually change anxious habits that didn't serve me. Michele taught me how to find peace when I'm overcome with anxiety (a problem many people struggle with). Michele pulls pages from her personal book when she teaches about authenticity. Thanks to her, I see that it's the only way to be. It's not only fair to those around me but more importantly it's only fair to me. Although it seemed like I was protecting myself and others, being 100% true is more loving and a beautiful thing. In my life-long quest for confidence, Michele helped me make great headway. When we began working together, Michele invited me to be on her TV Show that airs monthly on The Manhattan Neighborhood Network. Initially I emphatically rejected the offer claiming "I'm more of the behind-the-scenes type" and "I'm not confident enough to be on TV." Michele took up the challenge. By teaching me about the fascinating world of neurological path ways using basic examples and analogies, she helped me overcome old obstacles. Working with Michele yielded many invaluable lessons along with fun memories as we embraced our silly side together. ~Annemarie Bombardieri

In addition to my own athletic training, it is essential for me to recover with assistance from a bodywork professional. Ruth worked on my whole entire body, getting into the nitty gritty micro muscles that don't get the attention needed when I stretch alone. She is very detail oriented; she works in intricate places and on muscles I've never had worked on by other therapists I've seen. I frequently get massages and when I've seen other therapists they tend to focus the majority of the session on the back and she spent even amounts of time in all places: neck, chest, hips, front and back of my legs, and my scalp. The moment you walk in, she creates a relaxing atmosphere for you to get away from the world for an hour or two. She put a perfect amount of pressure, creating that "good pain" feeling. Ruth is also a great listener. I know many people enjoy relaxing during the session, but I tend to talk during the body work because I'm a chatterbox. Ruth allows and welcomes that. I honestly think she'd make a great therapist with the type of wisdom she drops. I always value what she has to say and I find her presence alone very warm and safe. She may look fun sized and small, but man is she strong! I'm looking forward to coming back to Fully Centered for a follow-up session next week.
