Very good eye doctor he examined my eyes and eyesight with every tool available. I'm a senior so I know what I'm talking about I've been to others who were not as thorough as Dr. Boland. I used to believe in this place. My wife had an eye issue. Dr. Boland did an excellent job and scheduled a follow-up visit for 2 weeks. Went back did some screening test, brief Dr. visit. Scheduled a follow up in 2 weeks. Did the same thing. Rinse and repeat. On the 4th or 5th follow up, my wife was ill so we cancelled and did not reschedule. A few months later we got a letter saying Dr. Boland dropped us as patients. Wow! Way to milk the health care system. A great doctor but a little greedy. read more

Been (past tense) going here for years, no longer. Not even sure if Dr. Boland is still around. Went in today to get frames adjusted and new nose pads. Totally new staff. TOTALLY NEW. Cheapest frames start at $300.00. New policy = YOU MUST WEAR A MASK. Damn, this is 2023 folks but when you look at the staff you will understand. Big Sign = Boland Eye Center will no longer accept any vision plans. Every previous visit had billing problems. Every one. Cataract surgery on both eyes back in 2019, I paid and had to chazse my money from my insurance company. Bye Bye read more

I took my dad by today w/o an appointment, I did call in advance to see if they could take a look at his glasses which were rubbing a place on his head, and getting sore, he's 89, and they not only saw him, but adjusted the glasses, cleaned them, put on new nose pads, and gave us two ear "sleeves" to help with the problem. And no charge!!! Now that's customer service, and a nice group of people. The young lady behind the counter and the technician were wonderful. We'll definitely return when we need glasses and contact lenses. THANKS!!!!!! read more

Still very disappointed. I came near the end of last year for an annual exam. I had been using a local chain and thought this would be a superior experience and another optical shop option. Office was nice, but eerie and nearly empty. My refraction was done solely by a tech who was well-meaning but visibly inexperienced. No one checked the script behind her and the prescription was really off. The OD's medical exam was competent, but he was not personable at all and hurried me out. I was more dilated than I have ever been and no disposable sunglasses were given to me. I had to go back to my previous office for a valid prescription, so this was a waste of time and money for me. What a shame. I have a strong prescription and would have been a long-term customer if the practices here were satisfactory. I did fill out the review sent to me by the office, but they never responded to it in any way. read more

They don't have a selection of glasses worth the visit, first of all. It's better to go online or use an app like WARBY PARKER where you can try on glasses virtually or have several pairs shipped to you for that purpose at a FRACTION of the cost of paying their salaries and fancy decor. AND to make matters worse, though the staff seems nice, they will harass you persistently for not wearing a mask as of MARCH 2023... how are you supposed to try on glasses WEARING A MASK... ?? Apparently the owner has a zero mask tolerance policy and will throw your a$$ out without hesitation... lol read more

Total rip-off!! Beware!!! They make you sign at least 8 pages of forms before ever seeing an eye doctor, and what you're signing is to beware of!! They'll make you sign paperwork even if you don't want glasses! And by that I mean, I specifically told everyone there that mattered that I DID NOT WANT GLASSES!! What do they do? At the end of the visit, say you have to pay an extra $40 if you want the prescription...that's it...nothing more than that, JUST THAT!! Having said that I DID NOT WANT GLASSES, what do I walk out with after paying $40?? A prescription for GLASSES!! NO ONE EVER SAID, this is for GLASSES. Asked for a refund later on, as I didn't know what the prescription said...and they matter of factly stated that I signed a Refraction Consent. Which means that I paid for a REFRACTION - not a PRESCRIPTION!!! They explicitly said to me the day having the eye exam, after even questioning why I had to pay $40 to get MY PRESCRIPTION, is because I would not be able to get ANYTHING if I did not pay them the $40. They NEVER EVER took the time to explain to me that it would cost me another type of eye exam if I wanted contacts. EVER!! You see, that is all a trick they're using to make YOU pay for something that you DID NOT WANT....and letting them keep your money!! Total and complete waste of time and a total RIP OFF!! I will NEVER EVER recommend this place for anyone. Especially the way they seem to think that a bad review doesn't matter. read more
