However, a couple of the cars (specifically the Lightning McQueen car and the Frozen Jeep) were pretty worn down and didn't look like they were in the best condition. The stylist who cut my nephew's hair did a good job with the actual haircut. My sister showed her a picture of what he wanted: a mohawk with a longer tail in the back, but not as much of a mullet. When the stylist responded, "Well, that's a picture of a mullet, so what do you want me to do?" it immediately made the process feel more stressful than it needed to be. We ended up finding another reference photo that better showed what we were looking for. I will say, I was impressed that before using the clippers, she let my nephew touch them and see them first. That small step mattered because he was nervous after his previous experience. However, beyond that, there wasn't much interaction or reassurance with him throughout the haircut. I expected a little more patience, enthusiasm, and engagement from a salon that specializes in children's first haircuts and helping kids feel comfortable. The positive is that his haircut turned out great. The final style looked exactly like what we wanted, and the experience was definitely not nearly as traumatic as his first haircut somewhere else. However, a couple of days before my appointment, I was informed that she had left the salon. I was rescheduled with Crystal, who was presented as a Master Elite stylist. I had booked a partial highlight. The result of that appointment was my hair going from warm blonde to being totally washed out and grey looking. A few days later, I returned so Crystal could try to correct the color she did. Unfortunately, I left with the result of a yellow correction that looked like I try to do it myself. Additionally, my first two appointments with Laura also required corrections. Altogether, I have spent nearly $1,300 at this salon, yet my hair has consistently required rework and still ended up looking horrible. I have photos but cannot see how to post them here. I posted a message on X but have not received any response from this studio. The title "Master Elite" carries a significantly higher price point and naturally comes with a higher level of expectation and expertise. Based on my experience, I am no longer willing to subject my hair to additional corrective services. At this point, I am requesting a refund for my last appointment. After some digging, I saw a Facebook post stating the business had closed, but relying solely on a Facebook post is not sufficient when the booking system is still active and sending confirmation texts. As an out-of-town client, there was no way for me to know my appointment was no longer valid. No call, no text, no cancellation notice. This was not a casual appointment -- it was for a wedding -- and the lack of communication forced me to scramble at the last minute. If a business is closing, booked clients should be proactively notified and all booking systems disabled. This situation could have been avoided with basic communication. Thankfully, I was able to find another salon last minute -- Primp and Blow Chandler -- who completely saved the day. Five stars to them for stepping in on short notice and doing an amazing job.
