The trash was piled so high you couldn't put anything else in it. The coffee somehow had all kinds of extra ingredients and still just tasted like straight espresso. The food took so long we were nearly done with our coffees by the time we got it. There was a whopping one other person in there so it's not like they were in the weeds. But this spot?! This decor?! I've gone to the Coffee Shoppe three times since the re-opening, and the chocolate chocolate muffin paired with the Antigua drip coffee has been absolutely divine. Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience today that fell short of the usual service. I ordered a cold brew with cold foam for my friend's birthday. When I received my drink, it had sweet cream instead of cold foam. I politely went back inside, explained the situation, and asked if we could get the correct topping. The barista became visibly upset, told me I was the problem, and insisted that cold foam was used but must be flat. She then dumped out roughly half of my drink, added more cold foam, mentioning it had been made two days earlier and she is certain it's fine. My drink is now all cream and is sitting in a puddle on the counter. I was really surprised and saddened by the interaction, especially given how much I value this shop and support it regularly. While mistakes happen and I understand that, the response made what should have been a simple correction and a celebratory moment feel very uncomfortable. I hope this feedback is received as constructive. I'd love to continue being a loyal customer and will be back, but I'm hoping for friendlier service and better attention to orders going forward.
