We were in town for a couple days for my boyfriend's job and wanted to hit up a coffee place before we day tripped to Sioux City and found this place. The decor is incredible, and the outside area is so dreamy, I'd hang out there forever. We bought their cute little tumblers like good tourists. The rest of the experience was...flat. Our total for some of the cheapest (mid tasting) ingredients on the planet was nearly $80. The tumblers were both under $14 (just so you don't think of course it was $80, you got two tumblers). The trash was piled so high you couldn't put anything else in it. The coffee somehow had all kinds of extra ingredients and still just tasted like straight espresso. The food took so long we were nearly done with our coffees by the time we got it. There was a whopping one other person in there so it's not like they were in the weeds. But this spot?! This decor?! It's like an incredibly gorgeous person with a vapid personality. IDK how else to describe it. read more

I asked for a large milky way chiller, and they gave me a small one. It's a Monday morning, and they're not busy inside; just a few old folks sitting at the table and talking shouldn't have been that complicated for them to get my one order right. I wonder if they gave me my order wrong because I didn't walk in the building looking like a good ol' boy snob with a purse or suit on. But since the coffee was decent, I'm willing to give them another star. read more

My boyfriend just moved here and this was the first place we checked out! I am so impressed by their lunch! I was expecting just an average sandwich, quick for lunch. However, it turned out to be one of the most delicious avocado BLT's I've ever had (I almost always order anything with avocado and bacon if it's an option). My boyfriends chicken salad was also amazing. The tomato bisque has large slices of tomatoes, which I loved! The chips came with the sandwich. The girl who waited on us was so sweet. Outside, they have the cutest patio. Perfect for catching up with a friend, a cute photo op, or even bringing your children! They have a small playground at the very back of their patio. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. I was told their lunch and dinner menu are the same! I will need to check out their breakfast soon! read more

I always have high hopes when I go to DTC and I'm always slightly disappointed. Today I got a caesar salad and it's nothing but a lot of lettuce, some cheese and some chicken... no tomato or any other vegetable. Not even any croutons. A great local place here. Sure, there's those national sandwich chains around that are everywhere else, but this place has a nice atmosphere with comfy chairs and cool light fixtures. I stopped in here for lunch (Yelp suggestion) and had the DCC Deli sandwich (choice of turkey, roast beef or ham; mine was turkey) and an iced green tea with honey. Also, every sandwich comes with a cookie! There was easy street parking across the street and the staff was super friendly. There are many cookies, sweet rolls, etc to choose from here as well as coffee (of course). I will have to come back and try the coffee and one of those sweet rolls or maybe have another sandwich! read more

Wow wow wow. I can't say enough good things. The layout is the thing you notice first. They have a front patio, a side patio (complete with playground for your little ones in the back!) the tables and sodas are spaced far enough apart to add a sense of privacy but can fit anywhere from 2 to 8 people at one table. Their coffee is splendid, along with their mochas and thick juicy smoothies. They offer an array of different meals from breakfast biscuits and gravy to simple sandwiches. My advice to the owner of DCC? Add panini's to your menu! They compliment coffees, teas, and such forth way better than a beef dip sandwich. (Which is still excellent in taste.) they also offer salads and a child's menu for your little ones. Did I mention their home made pastries that are soft and fresh? The owner was able to create an artistic yet relaxing scene for you to enjoy your caffeine anyway you see fit. I will return many times to this fantastic little nook in norfolk Nebraska. read more

Okay... As I travel across this land, I have the pleasure of finding GREAT hidden away, off the grid types of places- This IS one of them! I stopped in, not expecting much, but I was surprised and overwhelmed...great people, atmosphere, coffees, and pastries...Do NOT kid yourself- the frosting on the cinammon (spelling??) rolls is NOT fat free! I was able to just chill, get some work done, and have some friendly chats with the locals...all in all, its what a coffee House should be, and DEFINITELY is on my list of places to stop when in the neighborhood...I look forward to my next visit. If the owners get a chance to read this, I have but two suggestions to work for that fifth star... 1.) Get free WiFi...it is pretty much a 'given' everywhere, so come into this millineum... UPDATE: In the spirit of fairness and accuracy, they DO have WiFi...just ask and search for it!!! 2.) You are closed on Sunday- wtH?? On Sunday morning, there are few finer pleasures than a cup of coffee in good company either before or after Church.. I get it, being the Sabbath Day and all, but still...hire athiests if you have to! UPDATE: I had a nice chat with the staff, and they say that Sundays are not done because its Sunday and there is low traffic in the area...to the locals, I say, "If you visit and ask, smart owners will follow!" This place is awesome! The whole atmosphere makes this place a 5 star stop. The feel of the inside and outside seating is very casual, comfy, and cool. The back patio is awesome! As you walk into Downtown Coffee company you are greeted by the lovely smells of coffee, pastries, and friendly people. I have been coming here since I was I high school and it has been my safe-heaven away from all the stresses in life. Down Town Coffee Company has a magical way of making you loose track of time, in a good way. The ambiance is quiet and comfy, a perfect combination for getting lost in a book. In addition to the lovely ambiance the coffee and pastries are divine. The only compliant I have is the weekend hours. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and they gave me jalapenos, which almost killed me since my tolerance for spice is non exsistent.
