I drove from Omaha, Nebraska, after seeing Tasty Treats featured on YouTube, so I was excited to…read morefinally try it. The restaurant definitely has a charming old-school, hometown vibe, and I can appreciate that. Unfortunately, the food just wasn't for me. I ordered the loose meat sandwich "with the works." What I received was seasoned ground beef and onions on a bun with a single pickle and a squirt of mustard. That's literally all it was. I took two bites and couldn't finish it. I understand it's a regional specialty, but it wasn't something I enjoyed at all. I also ordered a chocolate shake. It tasted more like vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup added than a properly blended chocolate shake. The syrup wasn't mixed evenly, so most of what I tasted was chocolate syrup. The service was okay--I'd give it about a 3 out of 5. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and the staff was friendly enough. Overall, I'm glad I can say I experienced it, but I definitely wouldn't make the drive from Omaha again for it. In fact, even if I lived nearby, I don't think I'd come back. The old-school atmosphere was the highlight of the visit, but for me, the food didn't live up to the hype.

The staff rushed us to take our order, and when I said we need a few minutes to decide she turned and walked away without saying a single word, and clearly annoyed. It's maybe a cute stop for ice cream but don't expect much. I would honestly recommend having a talk with your staff because it was not a welcoming vibe I got from either of the employees.

I could tell how tough it was by watching him try to cut it. I had a chicken wrap. I've never had a wrap that was grilled after filled so the lettuce was warm and wilted. The fries were good, though. A couple of other disappointments. My husband originally wanted the chili listed on the menu and they didn't have it and we wanted to watch a game in the Big 10 network and they didn't have that either.

I'm updating my review based on something that happened a couple months ago. One evening around…read more6:30 or 7 pm I ordered a chicken strip basket and a small blizzard. I rolled up to the window and paid, they gave me my blizzard and told me they needed a few more minutes on the food and asked me to pull forward. So I'm waiting there and probably 10 min pass.. I see my friend behind me, she gets her food and drives away, maybe 5 more minutes pass and they bring out my food, and say sorry about the wait, then give me an ice cream cone for free to make up for it.. and I'm like "I won't eat it, I already have ice cream, is there anybody else that wants it?".. the girl just stands there and is like "uhh no just take it" and so I did, I was just on my way to a study group at the library at school I'm sure I can find someone to take it.. Ok so when I get to the library I see my friend who I saw behind me in the drive through line.. I go to talk to her and she has the exact same thing I ordered.. I'm pretty annoyed at that because I'm pretty sure they forgot about me sitting there waiting for my food and they gave it away.. Like I said in my last review, it's high school kids doing their best, yes, the wait will be long for ice cream on a hot summer day,s but seriously, this was ridiculous.

The chopped-up tomatoes were a faded red in color and were soggy. It also tasted old and should have been thrown away last week. The breaded chopped chicken was decent, but I couldn't tell if it was supposed to have been warmed or cold. It was mediocre. I have never been to the Yankton SD location before. One car was ahead of me, and I did get through quickly. I was shocked there was only one option for salads. But this is the last time I will go to this location. By the time I drove back to my new job, I showed the gross lettuce to my coworkers. And shortly thereafter, I got diarrhea. First time customer at the Yankton location. My order # was AAAQYMF6AJBC

The dishes lacked the bold herbs, spices, and depth of flavor I was expecting, and everything seemed very watered down. The biggest surprise was that my meal was served with coleslaw. That's not something I associate with the traditional Mexican meals I've had, and it felt really out of place. The coleslaw even had carrots mixed into it, which just added to my confusion about the overall concept. I gave it an honest try, but after this experience, I won't be returning. If you're looking for more traditional Mexican flavors, this may not be the place for you.
