New decor, it's had a major revamp. Looks great. Nice burgers. I looks like they have a new healthy menu.

To Whom It May Concern, Be At One - Birmingham…read more I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding the treatment my group received at your Birmingham venue on the evening of Saturday 5th July, at approximately 9:00 PM. We were a group of four professional, sober, over-40s men, all looking forward to enjoying a relaxed evening. One member of our group, my cousin, entered the venue without issue. However, when my brother attempted to follow, he was refused entry on the grounds that he did not have physical ID. While he did not carry a hard copy, he presented a clear and valid image of his passport on his phone. Despite this, the door staff refused to accept it -- even though it clearly showed his identity. When we attempted to calmly question this decision, we were told that only physical ID would be accepted -- a policy that, while perhaps enforceable, could have been communicated more respectfully. I then attempted to enter the venue with my physical photo ID, simply to retrieve my cousin who was already inside. Surprisingly, I was denied entry on the grounds that "no single entries" were allowed -- a confusing and inconsistent response given that my cousin had just been allowed in alone moments earlier. When I questioned this, the bouncer smirked and continued to dismiss us rudely. What was more disturbing was the behavior of a woman whom we understood to be the manager. When we raised our concerns with her, she laughed at us and offered no explanation or assistance. This kind of mocking, unprofessional behavior from a member of management is wholly unacceptable. Eventually, we were told that none of us would be allowed entry, without any legitimate justification. We were left feeling disrespected, discriminated against, and deeply disappointed by the staff's unprofessionalism. I urge you to review this incident, including any CCTV or bodycam footage from your door team that evening. At the very least, I would appreciate a formal response addressing: Your policy on accepted forms of ID (including digital copies), Clarification around the "no single entries" rule, and An explanation for the behavior of both the bouncer and the manager on duty. I hope this complaint is taken seriously. We expected a safe and welcoming environment but instead experienced inconsistency, rudeness, and what felt like discrimination. I look forward to your response and a meaningful explanation. Yours sincerely,

Got to update my review because I find myself going back time and time again to Bourne and Co…read more The confused service has been sorted. You are now greeted at the door and advised to find a seat. The waiter brings water to you in beautiful cut glass tumblers and gives you time to look through the menu, giving opinions where necessary. In general the cocktails are shorts but they have a couple of longer drinks too. Because you no longer have to go to the bar, the darkness in that area doesn't matter and the lights over the seats are fine. Service is perfect and they even remember your drinks. I usually have a sweet Manhattan but last night I tried a Sidecar and it was the best one I;ve ever had. Now they've decided what they want to be, Bourne and Co is fantastic. It's a completely comfortable atmosphere, service is great, drinks are perfect. I will keep coming back.

This cocktail bar is a real joint and a great place to go and have some well-crafted drinks…read more Walking in you'll see a dark bar, very dark, in fact it'll basically take the whole of your first drink for your eyes to adjust so you can see that it's a nicely fitted out space with a substantial amount of seating, enough that you'll have an excellent chance of actually getting a seat. I'm convinced this is a ploy to make sure you have at least two drinks when you are there but maybe a few more lights would be good. Bar staff have the correct amount of swagger you'd expect from a joint, they know their stuff and they are friendly. They aren't the fastest in the world but what you get is worth the wait and they will give you some snacks if you've been there a while. The menu is pretty small at the moment, although it should be expanding very soon and if you ask for any of the classics they will deliver something quality. Music here is fine, not quite the terrible musak on steriods some bars go for while being not interesting and loud enough to distract from having a conversation. Prices are exactly what you'd expect 7-9 in general, with more expensive spirits costing more. All in all a top addition to the area, actually the area around John Bright Street would be a great place to spend the whole night.

Getting your gin in an actual proper gin glass, with complimenting garnishes instead of a roughly cut wedge of lemon is becoming a lot more common now, but to find that in Brum is a treat! Downstairs has an excellent selection, served by bar staff who really know their stuff (and recognise you coming in, not that it's a habit), with an even more extensive one upstairs. Comfy pub type stools and benches, that are the correct amount of squishy, and a yard adorned with alice in wonderland graffiti. All of the cocktails are great too, and although they are served in the most hipster as possible receptacles, I can actually forgive them because they're so tasty. They do have things that aren't gin (but you are looking at the reviews for a gin bar, matey), and food, which I am yet to try, but on top of the pleasant smells that have wafted my way, I've heard it's excellent, and often ginfluenced. I bet they don't serve it on plates though...

The staff in here are excellent. I asked them to make me a non-alcoholic cocktail last night and was whipped up a gem for the eyes and tastebuds. However, again, if you don't get here in Happy Hour and want a cocktail - you're paying from £6.00+ - so not a cheap option for a night out. Last time I ate here (Booking is a must by the way, if you want to eat!), I had the Sea bass with Sanphire - which was fabulous. The Ginger cake dessert was lovely too. The lunch menu is quite reasonable (and there is a loyalty card scheme - meaning you can earn a free lunch if you eat out regularly). A MUST for Gin fans. Good for a night out with the girls or the start of a big night out. Aim for Happy Hour and keep in mind Thursday/Friday/Saturday is VERY busy (but - top tip - you can reserve tables in advance).

Oh, My, Gosh…read more I'm going to start what's clearly going to be a babbling happy essay straight off with this: Here is the email reservations@barsmultronstalle.co.uk And the number to text 07802364282 To book your evening there, because frankly, you want to, like, right now, seriously, why are you still reading? I would give this place six stars if I could. I would maybe best describe it as feeling safe, welcome, and seriously entertained whilst drinking Fira at claridges without any articles about breast feeding. I'm going to be slightly irritating, and leave the review fairly vague and spoiler free, because that's kind of the point of a secret bar. Part of my joy in that place was the fact that I hadn't seen a poop load of badly filtered Instagram photos, or even worse, selfies of beautifully crafted drinks an inch away from "#browsonfleek #nightout #cocktails #injoke" (they have actually further stepped down their lighting to make instaspamming harder, photography is fine, just not flash), and that I didn't know what to expect as a new and awesome experience, and I don't want to take that away from you. So I'm going to do that thing that you do with someone who's seen the latest season of game of thrones or stranger things, in front of someone who hasn't, and hope it makes you curious enough to go and try it for yourself and enjoy it as much as we did. We found it by accident last time we were out drinking in Birmingham online, and decided we just had to go. My bestie tried to book, and made a real hash of it (sorry, guys) and even forgot his dietary requirements, and then was on a boat and oukdnt communicate, so I dropped them an email. You're led to the secret spot after using a code phrase you're texted on the morning of your visit, think a treasure hunt you can ruin by googling on tripadvisor when you get the clues. Don't google the way, my bestie did, I feel like I would have been even more excited if he hadn't. Like Christmas is still great without the Santa thing, but it was better with it. Maybe take a bag of crab apples though, they might give you even better service (if that's possible) if you take some crab apples with you. Everyone was polite, the place is neat, and gorgeous, and you sit, greeted immediately by Kyndra and Rob (the geniuses behind the bar, and the kind of people I want as new best friends). The bar holds 8 people tops, and we were the last two heading in. We had the terroir menu which is currently based on a very English ingredient, every drink includes, compliments and celebrates, and these guys really know their stuff. We chatted (possibly staying a little too long) about the name, their beginnings (1 year old today!), trifles, all sorts. The know about what they've created, what they're using. Everything you put to your lips is tried, tested and beautiful. They're clearly very creative and passionate and have finally been let loose to do what they want running things under their own steam with a great philosophy and ethos-no waste, seriously, one of the drinks is made from (deep breath) the bits left from the drink made from the bits left from the other drinks= drinkception. And what I say to their old bosses? What a trick they missed! Rob and Kyndra have great attention to detail with drinks and making your evening (even handing over a pair of culinary tweezers when I was having a faff on with the fifth item on the bill). Their philosophy is great, and frankly I'm jealous that I'm not running that business it's so awesome. Although I bought "not the best meat" as a student, ethics and eco are important to me (stop using plastic straws, guys) they show it can be done. The highlights for me without giving away any surprises, were (and this was hard, I could pick all of them for different reasons, I kept deciding then looking at the breakdown and thinking, no, no, but that one too, and that bit of that one); "Strudel" mostly because I'm now back addicted to the thing you get to eat with it again, and it is as amazingly balanced as they planned, and you normally don't get with its warm predecessors. "Fermentation" peradventure down to being so surprised by this concoction. I don't normally plump for this sort of drink, but I want to by this by the bottle and take some to my Father, and my eco ethos Auntie, and keep some for myself. I would pay a pretty penny for it. But actually no, also the effort in the barrel, and the crispness in the eating/drinking, and the gin coming through in the one with the blush-y verjus (not a friends episode), and the little bubbles, and the pretty glassware, and not glass drinkware, and sweet and savoury, and definitely just where you're sat. Everything just becomes so evident that what you're consuming has taken time, and love, and serious cognisance. I have eaten at Michelin star restaurants, and drank in "the best bar in the world" and this pips it. My perfect night would be here, and somewhere amazing for food to get both.

Upon entering the bar you come into a really cool area which is split into lots of different of quirky themes with bird cages, funky chairs and guess what games boards dotted everywhere - yes it's a bar but feels like the coolest hangout ever. The bartender was super accommodating and in creating two delicious mocktails especially for us. Be sure to check out the happy hour deal which is one 5-7pm.
