Absolutely amazing Camp! Full of love & passion ensuring kids have fun, feel loved, & are happy! I volunteered as a nurse for a family retreat wkend & took away so much more then what I could possibly give! It's definitely a humbling experience & I can't wait to come back & help out more! The grounds are beautiful, peaceful, & serene! The Staff is phenomenal & so much fun & make the Pals just as special! The food was great & loved that the snacks are available 24/7! Lots of activities, singing, dancing & fun with memories that last a lifetime! The lodge I stayed in was also recently updated & modern with my cabin room simple but cute! The nurse manager Sherri is super sweet & makes you feel comfortable, appreciated, & welcomed! I also met 3 other amazing nurses that added to my experience making this an exceptional weekend! Paul Newman u were a genius & people should continue buying ur products bcuz proceeds go to awesome charities/foundations like this one!

These were from the last family weekend for juvenile arthritis!

The park was created in 1926 when Sadie Conner Trimble who was the first postmistress of Lake Jem and her husband R.J. Trimble donated 71 acres to create Trimble Park. In October 1978, Orange County purchased another 31.5 acres from a failed development and used it to create the campground area. The main feature of the park is the picnic grove and playground at the end of the road. My favorite part of Trimble Park however was the hiking area where there is a 1.3 mile loop trail suitable for all ages and hiking abilities. The trail takes you around the perimeter of the triangular shaped park and down to Lake Beauclair where ancient oaks ring the lake. Over the trail are mature wild citrus trees which produce fruit and blooms throughout the year. Birds you might encounter include osprey, ibis, red-winged blackbirds, and herons. Trimble Park also has a 15 site campground for groups, trailers. and single tents that is set around a small cove along Lake Carlton. Here you will also find fishing decks and a launch for paddlers. It is easy to see why this park is a favorite outdoor recreational destination for families, campers, and nature enthusiasts. Whether you're looking to camp, hike, fish, or simply relax, this park provides a welcome and peaceful retreat in Central Florida.

I walked all the way back, waited, went in... and there was hair all over the sinks. If it takes an entire hour to clean a bathroom and you still miss the most obvious thing in the room, I have questions. The showers have a tiny bench but no hooks and no shelves, so you basically have to choose between putting your stuff on the wet floor or juggling it like a circus act. And the laundry room? Supposed to open at 8 a.m. I hauled all my laundry down there, only to find it locked at almost 8:30. Nothing like standing outside with a basket of dirty clothes. Nothing like starting your day hauling dirty laundry back and forth several times. Calling the office doesn't help much either. You get prompts that don't lead to a real person. They call you back though. Not sure when. I missed that call. There are also several abandoned campers and full‑time residents with garbage scattered around their sites, which really adds to the ambiance. Overall, I liked it at first but the bathroom/laundry times are quite a pain. So unless you enjoy mystery cleaning routines, unreliable laundry access, and a scavenger‑hunt‑style approach to basic amenities I don't recommend it. Update. I was able to get into laundry room at 9am. Stopped into the bathroom before the walk back because it just reopened from being cleaned for an hour. Took pictures this time. Also I forgot to mention the bathrooms are locked with keypads during the day but propped open at night with video surveillance signs. I don't know what happens in the bathrooms and laundry they need surveillance and have to close the laundry at night but it can't be good.

Homes with junk, people staying that aren't on the lease, there is illegal dumping by the railroad tracks, it's not southern palms property, so I get they can't do anything about it, but the person who did it was staying with a resident without permission. Now he's in a tent camping and no one does anything. Felons live here, it's truly become a trailer park. when my business lease is up, we are moving. If I can't sell my place, I'm having it taken apart and hauled off. Not paying lot rent on something that's going to be hard to sell because who wants to buy into a park where management doesn't even enforce their own rules. No longer a MHP, it's a trailer park. Drug users and addicts and the police have been in my neighborhood so many times. I am a low key chilled out person, so for me to be pissed, it takes a lot. I am at my wits end with this place. It could be so nice if they would only ENFORCE their own rules.

Google lists it as a "Camping farm." Their website states that they are an "Equestrian campground located adjacent to the Seminole State Forest." It can be a little tricky to find the entrance as it is a small sign off the south side of SR 44. Once you turn off the road it is pretty easy with the signage to figure out where it is. Our group went there to film a short video in the area near their common area. Most people we saw arriving drove with their Winnebagos and horse trailers and rented areas to let their horses have a rest and enjoy time out of the trailer with other like-minded people. There is a lake that we saw and their website touts trail rides on the property. It was a lovely place with lots of shady spots and a true rustic feel. The people who run the place were wonderfully helpful and friendly. If you want a nice place to stop and enjoy some time in a true Florida wilderness with your horse this is your place.

The management was also great back then , but now , the male "camp host" that's there now seems to have some issues with people and not fixing or cleaning bathhouses, they're filthy , broken toilet seats covered in crap and broken stall latches hanging on by one lose screw that I tightened with a key, the walls and floors are filthy and reak of urine , they haven't been touched by bleach Ina long . Last year the same camp host guy , saw me walk by his camper on the second loop , I waved , he was sitting talking to another man and he just looked at me and I kept walking , he hops on his cart and comes up next to me and asks me if Im staying there ,says they have people sneaking in , and asks who I'm staying with , what I'm driving, I was 53 last year camping solo ,I was pissed but I just blew it off. This year I brought my son ,now 20 on our last camping trip before he leaves for the Army, my son was sitting on my $1400 kayak that I trailered in and the camp host saw us as we were unloading in out site, so he goes up to my son while he's by himself and asks if he stole someone's firewood and asks him what site he was in . I don't know what the guy's problem is but they need to get someone else in there, he has issues , we left early because we went there to relax and that was ruined because he pissed me off , my son said he didn't care but there's was no reason to hassle him or myself before. I'll probably find another campground if you don't want to pay too much for campsites and firewood and you don't want to smell urine and get hassled by that guy.

However, it's only $10 now that I have my own life jacket (saving me additional cost of $5 to use one of theirs, as required). Well worth the low cost for some soul-enriching, communing with nature. I have never made a reservation. I normally arrive around 10:30, most recently on a Friday. Parked for free on Baptist Camp Rd. Just a bit of a walk from there with my inflated paddleboard, but I don't mind the extra exercise. You can unload your stuff closer, if preferable. There are port-a-potties available. You can count on there being a line in the check-in office. Various recreation supplies are available there for purchase. The process moves reasonably enough. A reservation will guarantee your entrance, however, and possibly aide quicker personal info collection. I always plan to do the Emerald Cut in roughly 3 hours round-trip, allowing myself several stops to enjoy the surroundings. You do run into (quite literally at times) novice paddlers along the way, which can be a bit tricky, yet not a real nuisance for me. In general, there's friendliness along the waterway. Slighty rowdy, party vibes in some spots, but also opportunities for solace and zen in various nooks. Encountering wildlife, fragrant elderberry, and other captivating flora along this stretch is always gratifying. It's a popular recreation destination for good reason.

My Hubby and I love kayaking, so we booked an excursion months in advance for Rock Springs through TripAdvisor. Our Tour Operator was Get Up And Go Kayaking located at Kings Landing in Apopka, FL. I LOVE saying Apopka ;) The good news: Apopka is a quick 1 hour drive from Orlando. Make sure you don't miss the turn to King's Landing, because the entrance is located on a narrow dirt road. You must drive past Kelly Park (which fills up fast). There is a Park Ranger located here who will guide you to King's Landing. As you get closer and if you see a parking spot, grab it! Check in is located in the Cabin like office where you will have to sign a waiver. If you do not want to take a clear bottom, guided Kayak tour, you can either rent or BYO Kayak versus taking a semi private, clear, guided kayak tour. NOTE: ONLY use their Sunscreen/lotion which is provided at no cost. It protects the wildlife and the Springs. We wanted the full experience as we have previously enjoyed renting clear Kayaks. Our guide for the morning was: Megan, who was fantastic! Full of energy, information and helpful tidbits about the Springs and its human and wildlife inhabitants. Our group was small and capped at 10. We paddled through both narrow and open stretches, and stopped to swim in the warm, crystal-clear water. One highlight was a banyan tree with an 8-foot natural "jump hole"--such a cool experience! It was a serene, memorable day, and fun fact: this is the very spring featured in the Visit Orlando commercials! Yeah, definitely take a day away from crowded Orlando to relax and enjoy Mother Nature! You will Thank Me ;)
