I find this unacceptable - and have complained numerous times, with no changes. That brings me to this new place and new doctor. Dr. Chen. I researched a new doctor, found Dr. Chen, found this location. Bascially, I picked it because it is close to my house and Dr. Chen has Monday and Friday hours. She also has hours at another location in Oak Lawn. The building is pretty new. I got to my appt 15 minutes early, filled out my paperwork and was prepared to wait and wait and wait. Well, I was called within 5 minutes and met with 3 people. The lady that took my medical history, the nurse practicioner and then Dr. Chen. All 3 were really great and had good bedside manner. Dr. Chen was patient, listened, didn't rush me, asked lots of questions and was just really cool. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a new doctor. Very happy!!!

WARNING: This is going to be a TMI review so get ready…read more.. I have a long history of tummy problems. So I finally decided to see a gastroenterologist. After much research and a 3 month waiting period I finally got in to see Dr. Kim. First Visit: It was an utter disappointment. As I tried to explain my symptoms including tell her that I only go to the bathroom like every other day she laughed and said "well how much do you want to go?" This made me feel like I wasn't taken seriously. Then she basically accused me of abusing laxatives. Anyway, she set up some tests and wrote me a prescription. Second Visit: So I went in and explained that the medicine I was taking had been making me sick and I felt that the dosage was too high. Dr. Kim then tells me that her nurse isn't in and she doesn't have access to her notes so she is COMPLETELY unaware as to what I am taking and the what the dosage is. Then I tell her I'm interested in being screened for Celiac Disease. She decides I don't need that and instead tells me to take a laxative (Which by the way she obviously forgot that the first visit she thought I was a laxative addict) and if that doesn't work she would set me up with a nutritionist. WHAT??? I am so upset about this. Is this what healthcare is like at the University of Chicago? Do you really tell a client to take a laxative? Needless to say I have not been back to see her. I have found a much better gastroenterologist over at Rush.

Unlike other neurologists, he came out to greet my mother and then walk with her to the exam room so he could observe her. He spoke directly to my mother and not to me, unlike other doctors when dealing with elderly. He was informative, looking into adaptive devices as the Need arose. Then one day, he asked me about my father's tremors (my father came to all of my mom's appointments). I explained that they were hereditary and his primary said there was little that could be done. He said there's always something that could be done. He outlined different approaches and explained that we'd try one, see if it helped. It didn't, however with the second meds, the tremors were nearly unnoticeable and my dad was able to enjoy bridge and going out to eat with friends without being self conscious. I've recommended him several times to friends of my parents and all were happy with him. He's compassionate, knowledgeable, and willing to try different things.

I later confirmed with another neurologist that his diagnosis was wrong.

I am a medical doctor and have been practicing for decades locally and never came across situations I experienced and learned about over the last 5 years. Unfortunately, due to HIPPA compliance I am not able to share specific medical cases, but I can say that any child, teenager, or adult receiving care from this provider or compounding pharmacy should consider all the potential and serious health risks and ALWAYS consult a independent licensed medical doctor prior to starting an aggressive holistic regimen. One thing I want everyone who is reading this review to understand is that The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) banned over-the-counter (OTC) drug products containing colloidal silver and silver salts in 1999. The FDA has warned that colloidal silver isn't safe or effective for treating any disease or condition. Colloidal silver can cause serious side effects. The most common is argyria, a build-up of silver in the body's tissues causing a bluish-gray discoloration of the skin, which is usually permanent. There is also some evidence that it can cause kidney, liver, or nervous system problems. Lastly, under no circumstance should you allow your child, parent, or aging relative to take multiple prescription grade supplements long-term that have not been proven to be safe when taken collectively. This is why the FDA requires prescription grade medicine and certain supplements to successfully complete clinical trials for the age groups being considered. Please do not ignore the potential harmful risks with taking any substance that is not clinically tested or regulated by the FDA or similar agency.
