Even though they gave me a map, it would be so easy to just have a stake in the ground that identified the buildings like building B. If it wasn't for the friendly staff and volunteers I would have been even more lost. How could you not support this place and its commitment to animals? It's obvious they could use some financial support and renovation but the point is they are caring and loving our beautiful creatures big and small. The main parking lot in front has a drop off area for donations. You have enter the building and sign in before seeing the animals for adoption. There's a little gift shop in front and all the staff are super friendly. Most of the viewing areas are outside and not easily handicapped accessible. They have a newer facility across from the zoo, but this one you can tell is where the love started. Come visit and support please.

We have two medium/ large dogs and were looking for a place to take them for both daycare as well…read moreas to have for boarding when we found K9 Country Club. During the first daycare experience, everything seemed to go OK, but we were surprised that they didn't seem tired at all upon pickup. At our previous daycares, the dogs would come home ready to rest and relax... definitely wasn't the case this time. Despite the initial daycare experience, we decided to board our dogs here over the New Years holiday as we really needed to have them in a safe place where they would be able to be together and would have daycare during the day. Our dogs seemed to do really well and did come home exhausted after the three day boarding experience and seemed to be in good spirits! The only odd thing was how thirsty the dogs were when they got home - it was like they hadn't drank in days (but this could just be from over excitement). The reason that I chose to remove a star is because they seem to be very disorganized and the front desk woman is a bit rude. Multiple times I was contacted for a missing vaccine or paperwork or this or that and yet they already had it ... just lost it/ misplaced it. Even upon check in, I had to go over the same items (like medication instructions) over and over because the woman checking us in did not listen (and truthfully is pretty rude). Additionally at check out... I was handed a bag full of stuff that wasn't mine. I was glad I checked as some other dog/ owner would've been without their bowls, food, etc. Despite the front desk woman being rude, the rest of the staff and the manager here are all very friendly and work to get things right. One employee that really went above and beyond (and will be the reason we come back is Casey (I hate to say I'm not 100% sure on his name, but I believe that's it). He took extra time to get to know the pups so they felt comfortable going with him, wrote down all the instructions for himself and also took time to speak with my family to ensure we felt comfortable. Overall - a good boarding place but one that has some improvement opportunities in administration.

This is NOT the place it used to be! After a 5 nights stay, my poor dog smells really bad, has been…read morecrying since I picked her up for 2 straight hours, lost a lot of weight, and now has fleas on her. No leftover food or treats were returned to me because then I could have seen how much she had been fed, which couldn't have been much by how much she's lost! I asked to see where she was staying when we dropped her off because I paid for a "deluxe suite," and they refused and referred me to photos on their website. They claimed people walking through there get the dogs barking. So are your employees invisible then? Because they have to walk through there. Those photos on their site could have been from anywhere! I guess they aren't washing bedding between pets either, or my dog wouldn't have fleas because she had none when I dropped her off! She wouldn't have smelled so bad either. She doesn't play with other dogs, or go to dog parks, so there is no chance from getting fleas that way. This place used to be a LOT better than it is now. And the smell when you walk in the door will knock you over. Never smelled that bad when we used them before and that was in the heat of the summer! Also, it was really hot in there this morning when it was only 65 outside so it's not even kept cool for the pets. It's supposed to be climate controlled. So, disappointed in this place! Idk if they are under new management or what because we haven't used them since 2024, but my dog will NEVER stay there again. My daughter's cat also unfortunately stayed there in a "deluxe suite". It's nothing more than a small cage she is kept in like at a shelter. There's NOTHING deluxe about it. I specifically asked them to leave her travel crate with her because my daughter put a shirt in there that smells like her to comfort the cat, when I picked her up they got the travel crate from a storage room and the shirt was still in it. This cat loves her travel crate and when the guy handed her to me in it he said, "she hates the crate". No, she loves it! She lays in it in my daughter's apartment during the day sometimes because it comforts her. Idk what they did but she was acting like she didn't want to be in it at all! She meowed the entire way home. She had been silent on the ride there to drop her off though. The cat smelled bad, too. So, we paid a fortune for them to neglect our animals, and not do what we asked, and refused to let me see where my dog was staying (suspicious), and charged me for a "deluxe suite" (crate) to keep the cat in. Complete sham! Why is it so hard to find a place that will take good care of your pets for you when you have to travel?! Lastly, I got pictures of our dog every day and she looked sad in all of them. But my daughter only got any photos of her cat the last day she stayed there. Pretty sure that was the only time they let her out of that crate! I don't trust these ppl and my babies will NEVER stay there again!

The staff at hill country pet ranch were very kind and accommodating. They assured me that my dog would get plenty of love and he seemed happy and cared for when I picked him up. However, I have to deduct a star because despite having an overall good experience, my dog did come home with a number of fleas. We have him on prevention, so the fleas were dying after biting him, but he was so itchy in the meantime. This was after I had also purchased an exit bath and nail trim. I think this is a fine place to board your dog, but ensure that you have plans to go home and give your dog a flea bath immediately. Plus, throw away any fabric items that may be housing fleas when you get home.
