The effects of fetal and birth traumas or a difficult pregnancy or labor can be mitigated at the beginning of life to create optimal brain function, prevent many diseases and avert a lifetime of suffering. Even though CFT can be beneficial at any age, our primary goal is for prevention with the use of CFT for every newborn worldwide as a difficult pregnancy, an arduous labor, the use of forceps/vacuum suction, a Caesarian section, the umbilical cord wrapped around the throat/body, and other traumas can impair the function of the newborn's brain and spinal cord.
* CFT can create a happy and content baby.
* CFT can create excellent infant neurological function. The Family Hope Center reports that children in their infant program have reached their neurological developmental milestones 30% faster than the standard child.
* CFT can facilitate the ability to latch on and prevent sucking and swallowing difficulties, colic, reflux, gas, digestive issues, constipation, ear infections, poor napping, general distress, stridor, torticollis, pyloric stenosis, and clubfoot.
* CFT can result in structural immunity later as a toddler, where physical trauma has little or no effect on her/his structural health.
* CFT can prevent childhood diseases like asthma, headache, ADHD, learning disorders, and other conditions.
* CFT can create a neurological learning environment where focus, concentration, memory, thinking, and other cognitive functions can be maximized at school.
History
Established in 2010.
The Gillespie Approach originated from the cranial osteopathic principles of Dr. William Sutherland, the myofascial release work of John Barnes, and Dr. Gillespie's discovery of the Craniosacral Fascial System. When physical and/or emotional traumas adversely tighten this freely moving system, tremendous pressure can be exerted on associated nerves, muscles, organs, blood vessels, lymph vessels and bones. The power of CFT revolves around hands-on procedures that facilitate healing without drugs, surgery or manipulation. A freely moving brain, spinal cord and fascial web are must-haves for the well-being of all newborns, children and adults.
Meet the Business Owner: Lauren B.
Lauren Brim, Ph. D, has been working in the healing arts for over 20 years helping babies, kids and adults achieve their wellness goals. After working primarily with adults for many years, she trained in Craniosacral Fascial Therapy with Dr. Barry Gillespie personally in 2011 and began working on babies shortly after. Over time, she developed her own way of working with the fascia in newborns, babies, and toddlers, particularly in helping with breast and bottle feeding issues, and developed the course: Bodywork for Babies, which has been attended by dozens of health care practitioners all across the country. She specializes in working with nursing and digestive issues, lip and tongue ties, torticollis, plagiocephaly, reflux, and a variety of other common issues for newborns and babies. Her background as a doula, midwife's assistant, somatic bodyworker, and mother of three give her a unique ability to quickly help the baby, mother, and family thrive.
