Always a pleasure! Thanks, Linda. This place is professional, clean, fast, accurate, and just a heck of resource. Wish I started doing this years ago. Linda's services have been a must in our lives the last few years. So much bang for the buck. I wouldn't skip out on this part of the process. Folks, come see Body Fat Test! A++++ read more

Linda is great. I've used this pre and post pregnancy and over 6 years and I find it accurate and helpful. It's quick and easy. I'll show my results when I get to my binder because I saw a review that someone had a poor experience but I can tell you this is accurate and will give you clarity on how you are doing! read more

Linda is fantastic! My first test was last month - quick and painless. She sent me home with a lot of information that has been helpful.

This test will change your life. I have been doing them for over 10 years. If you REALLY want to get in shape, you need information! Muscle weighs more than fat, right? Up until I did hydrostatic body-fat testing, I "knew" that to be true, but SEEING is BELIEVING! I did a 12 week transformation, which included working out like a crazy person and I bought a food scale to know PRECISELY how much I was eating. 6 weeks in, I was about to give up. I was doing everything and weighed MORE than when I started!!! But... I did a hydrostatic body-fat test and I had gained a tremendous amount of muscle and lost 3% of my body-fat. It was INCREDIBLE! My transformation results BLEW MY MIND! I started at 148 pounds and 22% body-fat. After 12 weeks of intense exercise and dieting, I was 14.9% body-fat and weighed 148 pounds! Seriously. That was over a decade ago, but I still weigh 148... Between a death in my family and Covid, I've gotten fatter. But you gotta face the facts before you can improve! The price is totally reasonable, given this type of thing is usually reserved for celebrity types. Linda has gone above and beyond, in her dedication and service! I could not be happier! So, book the test ASAP and accomplish your goals!!! And BTW, this type of test is the GOLD STANDARD of tests. You owe it to yourself! read more

Body Fat Test - Report. Spans 3 years. Unfortunately the other years were in Atlanta, a different owner. But still: VALUABLE info!! - Nutritionists Near Me

Shout out to Linda and Tira!! Over the last 6.5 months I've done 4 dunks in the tank. The first one really caught me off guard with what I considered a balanced diet (everyone always said I was the healthy eater) and working out 60-90 mins a day 4-5 days a week I thought I was in a slightly heavier but normal weight class. Once I saw the breakdown and composition I knew it was not normal! Over this time frame with the dunks and all the information it provides as well as simple conversations following the tests I've been able to drop 35.5 lbs of BF and increase my lean mass! My latest visit showed a decrease in lean mass and with talking with Tira my nutrition was slightly off and I was in a larger calorie deficit than I thought. With that information I'm able to hear my macros and calorie consumption and adjust as my training intensity increases or decreases! I'm excited to see the next period and see how these changes take place! If you're thinking about it or skeptical you need to just book an appointment and do it! The online scheduling and calendar make it too easy and the text reminders help tremendously!! read more

Linda is wonderful and great to work with. I love the dunk tank and schedule it for our gym every 6 months for our members to track their progress. Very helpful! read more

My body fat has been confirmed at around 23% to 25% by hundreds of tests. I'm an athlete in multiple sports, lots of Olympic athlete friends. These test results were bogus. 50% off. Parked out in front of a gym, they inflated the results drastically to get people to join the gym. Definitely a scam. Asked my personal trainer and my doctor, too. They agree. read more

This is a great way to know exactly what's going on with your body without wondering "are these readings off because I'm dehydrated or because I just woke up or because I just worked out?" I have a Body Composition Monitor that regularly calls me obese if I stand on it in the morning, and I was fed up. As a triathlete, I'm a huge fan of data, and this truck gives you exactly the information you need to know how much to eat and how little-- if you're trying to lose weight but maintain strength, it's utterly important to get your basal metabolic rate to ensure you won't lose muscle by cutting too many calories. The test gives you this, your lean muscle mass, and of course, the ever dreaded fat percentage, along with a comprehensive printout as to how you compare to others your age, and how much weight you "need" to lose to hit whatever target you're after. And unlike the Tanita scale you might use at home that gives you inconsistent reads, you KNOW this data is good. They dunk you several times until satisfied that you exhaled all the air and got the right reading. My one peeve would be that you have to hunt the truck down, which is totally not a big deal, though I do wish it were a little closer to my hood (it's not like you need to visit more than once every half year or whatever your schedule is). I also found it a little disturbing that the readout for the bodyfat percentages put "good" at what's generally in the underweight zone. I guess it's being targeted towards athletes, which I am, for whom underweight is okay and not unhealthy, but it's just sort of my pet peeve about LA and reinforcement of body dysmorphia that makes me sensitive to that kind of thing. Of course I'm the one who woke up at 6am to drive to a truck to find out my bodyfat, so I guess I shouldn't really complain... just sayin. read more

For a small price, Body Fat Test, the Mobile Hydrostatic Body Fat Testing Clinic didn't only give me the most accurate body composition analysis possible but a detailed report, nutritional consultation and advice to achieve my goals. Thank you Body Fat Test! Update: 01/23/2010 I went back for a retest 6 months after my first visit. I was happy to learn that the owner of Body Fat Test of Southern California gives a discount to returning costumers! Very nice! read more

From the fact that all the other reviews are 5stars, I'm going to assume that this is partly a scam. True, hydrostatic testing is the gold standard, and the people doing the test are very polite, and courteous, but I've been a chronic workout addict for a long time, summitted Mt. Shasta 3x in a row, beaten Olympians in official international competitions, work out at least 6 hours per week, have a VO2max of 45 and resting pulse of 54, so I know that the readings (which put me near "obese") are pretty questionable. I also test my bodyfat daily, and the numbers on OMRON and RenPho meters are 8% to 10% lower (30% to 50% by total), so I'm skeptical. My doctor says the numbers seemed extremely high and unlikely, too. I also asked my personal trainer, and he thought this company's results were quite ridiculously incorrect. The company has removed 3 prior attempts of mine to provide a review, AND even had my membership on Yelp CANCELLED (temporarily) for "violating terms and conditions" even though the review I posted was very polite, so I filed a legal complaint for fraud with the California Attorney General. Fact of the matter is that it is physically impossible for someone with body fat of 32.5% (their incorrect number) to have as high a VO2 max as I do, which I explained to them, but their limited knowledge of human physiology wouldn't allow them to correct themselves. My body fat measured today as 23.8% (on two different machines) which is where it has been for the past year. I measure myself daily on bioelectric impedance devices, which are much more accurate. Also, my waist to hip measurement ratio is about 0.95, which again is physically impossible for someone with 32.5% body fat. Just from a common sense perspective (think about it): a company that has mobile trucks that park in front of gyms to drive up business by giving fake high body-fat results has almost perfect 5 star reviews... then they remove the one review that was a 3 (now a 2) and even cancel the Yelp membership of the person that made the polite review. Realistic examples, instead: CalTech has been voted the top University in the world, yet gets 4.5 stars on Yelp. Vespertine has been voted top restaurant in Los Angeles but gets 4.5 stars on Yelp. Be suspicious of any company (especially with "mobile high-precision body fat measurement machines" that gets perfect 5 stars). It ain't real, folks! I didn't even see any certifications posted inside the truck. Machines like that need to be calibrated and tested regularly and there is a certification process. I know. I've worked in a lab. I know people over at National Institutes of Standards and Technology. High-precision 'measurement' machines being driven around in a truck is fairly ridiculous. Positive: Made me work out 2x as hard (literally!) at my next workout that afternoon. Could be dangerous, though, especially for extreme endurance athletes, since excessive working out can cause atrial fibrillation and "athlete's heart". Good motivator, but be careful and cautious. This kind of ignorant medical fraud is potentially a 'racket' and should be monitored carefully. Now they have been trying to contact me by phone, which is not welcome, and I request that they immediately stop. read more

If you are thinking of becoming healthier, this is the first step in doing it. I have taken this test 5 times in the last year and love it. This measures your resting metabolic rate, body fat %, lean muscle and fat. I take this test and I also attend Fitbody Bootcamp. Linda runs our tests and she is phenomenal! She goes through each step, with ease. She makes you feel comfortable, especially when it's your first time doing this "dunk test". When you receive your results, Linda goes through it, thoroughly, so you understand what each result means. The tub of water is always kept warm and her truck is clean. I highly recommend taking this test! read more

Wonderfully comfortable for someone that is super shy to get in a bathing suit. Informative information provided on the amount of Lean muscle available, the percentage of body fat, and what my rest metabolic rate is. Plus, how many pounds to lose to get to certain body fat range. Super clean, private, helpful, and very professional. Lower price for Re-Tests. I will return every three months, due to my Transformation Plan. Thank you ~ Marisol read more

Thanks Linda! I'm overweight, but I knew that going into the test. Linda was very helpful and very honest with me. The test itself was very easy and very fast. The hardest part is coming to the conclusion on how you're going to change your life, for healthier and better reasons. I'm on the right path to a better, cleaner future for my body and look forward to seeing Linda again. Highly recommended if you're at all curious about your health. Just make sure you keep all your body parts under water and blow out all the air inside! read more

I went for the first time today and I am so glad I did. Very informative and I'm recommending it to everyone I know that's on a fitness/weight loss journey. You are in a bathing suit, get in the tank, hold your nose, and submerge yourself underwater breathing out all the air in your lungs. She knocks to let you know to come up. It's very quick. Also I randomly caught an episode of "Finding Sarah" on tv last night and her trainer took her here which I thought was pretty cool. read more

Perfect for knowing your true body fat. I was tested by LAPD Thursday and I weighed in at 5 pounds less. I put back on my normal weight within 2 days . Shows my body fat 2.5% lower with more weight on me. Thanks Sara read more

This is a great service. It's quick, comfortable, and painless. It tells you more than any scale or caliper, especially when repeated over time, such as every 2-3 months. Seeing on paper not only the change in total body weight, but the change in fat pounds, lean pounds, and fat/lean percentages, provides detailed feedback on the results of your work. Linda is a consummate professional and provides fantastic verbal feedback as well. It's not enough to see slow, vague improvements in the mirror or to "feel better about yourself." You need to have actual facts about your changing body composition, and this service provides them. Linda comes to Crosstown Crossfit (Shout out to Greg Mountain) and a bunch of us get dunked and then compare results, which get handed to you immediately. It's good fun! read more

Had a great experience "getting tanked" this last Saturday!!! Setting up the appointment was easy and the actual measurement itself is quick and really fun. Linda gave a great breakdown of the results and is very knowledgeable about nutrition and fitness. My friend and I are competing to see who can lose the most fat and this is the most scientific way we could find! Will be "getting tanked" again soon! Thanks Linda! read more

Quick, efficient, and Linda is so great at making it very easy to understand your results. She makes you feel great about your results as well! Thank you Linda! The process was straightforward and efficient. I was happy with the report I was given immediately afterwards, which provided info like BF%, BMR, demographic percentiles, and more. It seems like a fairly accurate way to measure BF%, but I'd be curious to see if a different method differs in measurement. read more

Brian was very helpful! He took me in as a drop in. The body fat test was very quick & simple. Prob 10 minutes from start to finish. After you're done... you get your results! Great experience! I was trying to catch up with the body fat truck for a month. Even though my first appoinment in Oxnard was rescheduled due to low turnout, I was able to quickly and easily change the date and location. What an awesome experience! Linda (owner) was amazing from jump street. So welcoming, knowledgeable, and super easy to talk to. She made the whole process easy breezy, no pressure, and I never felt awkward or uncomfortable. Her rig has a private changing station so just bring your suit and towel and you're good to go. Immediately following the dunk she was ready with my stats and she fully explained every detail. I highly recommend hosting her at your place of business (there is no fee for being a host) or at least tracking her down and getting yourself dunked asap. I'm not a big review guy, but I have to give a shoutout to Linda and her hydrostatic body fat testing. I have utilized Linda for 8 years now, both for myself and for my "clients". I have encouraged my people to use Linda and her testing trailer as a means of determining a BMI baseline followed by reevaluations to measure improvement. I, and the entity that I work for, have tried several different means of measuring body fat and have found, without question, that the hydrostatic body fat test truly is the "GOLD STANDARD" of body fat testing. I would not use, nor recommend, any other means of measurement. Linda has been an absolute angel: a truly sweet, knowledgeable, and flexible young lady who has bent over backwards to help me and my clientele. I would recommend both her and the hydro body fat test without hesitation. read more

When i first mentioned to someone that I was going to do the hydrostatic body fat test, I was told didn't need it cause I wasn't fine tuning my weight. But doing the test really helped me set a goal, stick to it and lose weight in a healthy way. I weighed 266 when i first dunked and now im at 197, with about 56lbs of fat. Definitely recommend. read more

Great, quick service to get some good basic information about your body. In about 15 minutes, Linda will have you in and out of the comfortably-temperatured tank (blow all that air out - any air you don't gets counted as fat!), have a full report for you, including your weight, body fat percentage, your resting metabolic rate and how many calories your body needs just for that, and information about hitting target weight / body fat. Linda travels with her trailer from location to location around southern California. The location that I went to, at Crossfit Evoke in North Hollywood, she visits about every three months, so you can compare your results, which she also tracks and all of your information will be tracked on successive reports you get from her. You also get a discount on successive reports, so start tracking those numbers! read more

When the scale isn't telling you much, this will! I bought a 2 pack for the testing when Linda was at my gym and after my first test, I learned about my resting metabolic rate, and made a few changes. I re-tested 8 weeks later, and that's when I really was excited about the data. You can see how many lbs of fat you have lost, and how many lbs of muscle gained. It tells you SO much more than the scale. Do yourself a favor, and go check it out! read more

Plain and simple the scale isn't an accurate way to measure your fitness progress. Body fat testing is a great way to track your progress and it helps you stop obsessing with weight loss and helps you focus on fat loss and lean muscle gain which is a total game changer. The process of dunking is made easy with Linda's help. She keeps her facility clean and she coaches you right through the dunking process which is actually kind of fun. I've been doing this for a little over a year now and I've enjoyed seeing my progress, which Linda helps you track with the information sheet she hands you after you're done. I have been using body fat test So Cal for a few years now. Well, five separate times at so different private training studio gyms. As the sole proprietor of a successful personal training Business it is very important I have a way to incentivize working hard for my clients and an accurate barometer to gauge their progress. Nothing works better than hydrostatic testing for making an accurate assessment of progress and revealing where clients need to continue to improve. A bad body fat test is actually quite confusing and counter productive to a clients needs. Inconsistent and inaccurate testing can mess with a clients head and heart and at the same time confuse the Trainer and provide little insight on the method to move forward with. The test itself is second to none , maybe on par with a much more inconvenient DEXA testing. There is hardly any scientific room for error with this test. The client will get the hard truth, good or bad. Linda and her company has an impeccable track record with our testing events. They show up early , Park an a convenient and visible location. The staff is incredibly accommodating, and always very sensitive to a sometimes nervous clientele. The aspect that makes this service unique is the sheer amount of experience and knowledge about health and fitness and the way they are able to relate that knowledge to the test specifically, it takes so much pressure off me as a trainer. Thanks guys! Keep it up read more
