They have both horizontal as well as vertical sun beds and you can choose the amount of time you wish to tan for, depending on your skin type, sun exposure etc. Prefer to fake it until you make it? They also offer a great spray tanning facility as well as beautician services such as hair removal, teeth whitening and microdermabrasion. I like Sunlounge for a quick no fuss service, the staff always get to know their regulars. If you are after a sunbed, they do to tend to get very busy on weekends and during Summer, so it can pay to call ahead to book a session in, rather than waiting in store as it can take awhile!

A really great store coming from a male! I have to say I got dragged in there but I was very…read moreimpressed. The girl working there was really friendly and down to earth where she explained what they did there really well and talked us through some of the candles and products. I know I sound lame for a man but I was totally into it so bought some of the candles and they're still going in my house. I'm sure women would get a lot more out of a place like this but I wanted to stand up for the men and say that it wasn't that bad and if you're in need of brownie points, then a high quality scented candle will go a long way! Trust me!

A great and friendly beauty establishment in Balaclava, and so conveniently located near the train…read morestation. Inviting and well stocked with great service and prices to match. Clearly Paris (or even Europe) has arrived in the St Kilda area - or it feels like that is the case anyway, and within good reason too. Any of their facials and massages will leave your skin glowing and just feeling sensational. It is worth coming to the St Kilda East/Balaclava area to receive a facial once every couple of months to suck out those impurities on my face; and the staff just do it so well without criticising your face in any way, shape or form, and this is important. Great on a Saturday morning if your planning a quiet night in instead of going out. You just feel so relaxed that you might stay at the salon that little bit longer at the end of your treatment, and just grab a great coffee somewhere; or even something like a chai latte. An establishment worth coming back to in order to be appreciated. It is worth the $100 or so for the hour long treatment for what its worth. Fresh, inviting, chic and energetic.

The shellac technology used for your nails (although pricey, it is well worth it) is so noticeable; to the point where your nail polish lasts almost two weeks longer than traditional coats of nail polish. For pure skin fitness (for your face; to get of any impurities) their cleansing program is fantastic. The treatment comprises of skin peels and facials over a six week period where four visits are needed; where the celebrity makeover occurs making your skin feel soft, smooth and a pleasure to touch if you so wanted to. We are talking about medifacials that are designed to make you feel and look like a million bucks. Your dry clean skin feels like they are dead and literally dried out; and the moisturising is deep. So like a cocktail concoction of beauty, where the products have a natural as opposed to a synthetic or chemical feel. The latter treatment will set you back around $469 (normally $670) - it is well worth the expense.

The fact the Shibui walls are lined with photos of Neighbours cast members who have their hair done…read morethere is probably a good indication of the type of salon that lies therein. To put it plainly, Shibui is very, very "cool". And I do mean that like your mum would use it. The stylists are totally competent as are the colourists, but in the six months I was having my hair done here not once did I have anyone ask me where I got it done. Moreover, unless you're famous or under 22 the staff probably won't warm to you, remember you or give you any sort of service that makes you feel like anything other than a way to fill in their day between cigarettes. They're certainly not rude... but they're also not memorable. But that's okay, because neither are you ;)

BB is the best waxer I've been to. It's easy to get an appointment - simply fill out your details…read moreonline and they get back to you quickly. The front desk staff are friendly and there's a good range of magazines to read while you wait. The store looks clean and hygienic and the waxers are good at what they do. Usually they chat away about weekend plans and holidays etc which takes your mind off the indignation and anticipatory pain. Speaking of which, BB has the least painful waxes I've had and they offer great tips about how to maintain your new 'do. They also sell some cheap (but good) post-waxing products. I wish these stores were in the US.
