My buddy in NJ got me hooked on hot yoga and so far I've taken about 7-8 of hot yoga classes too. Now in NJ hot yoga is a dry heat. Fast forward to NC and the hot yoga at Firefly is another animal. The room is heated with like humidifier steam...you can literally see the steam in the room. When class starts the steamers are turned off and that heat is on in that room! I saw 2 other objects in the room and maybe some heat was coming from them too. Oh did I mention the temperature outside was already about 95 degrees. I think the room itself was 100 degrees. The instructor William was amazing. He has a very calming voice and because the class was so intimate he knew I was never in his class and another woman as well. She was from Philly and I was the Jersey girl. William welcomes you and makes you feel very comfortable. We progressed through the moves slowly but intensely. William also walked around the room to correct form and help you to get deeper into the stretch. When the class was done corpse pose aka: savasana felt so GOOD! I loved the ice cold towel they give each student at the end. The studio is hidden. At first I thought my GPS was wrong. Have you ever seen the movie Deliverance? Yes, think that movie. The studio is inside of a like country club/retirement community/pool house...just weird but it's beautiful. The yoga place when you walk in is on the left and there is an attendant at the desk. There are locker rooms and showers...the yoga room is upstairs door on the right. I purchased a 2 week deal for $25. I am in town for 3 days but you can't beat the deal. So if in the Cary/Raleigh area check them out and make sure you're able to take the heat! Good place very good place.

I did learn that sumo squats are not my friend!. If you have been to Pure Barre I would say the classes have similarities but Barre3 has more cardio/yoga and a more intense warmup. I like that they throw more cardio in, it makes it feel like a better all around workout. I hate when you go to a new studio for the first time and no one really shows you the ropes. Not the case with Barre3! The front desk had already marked down that it was my first time so after a bit of paperwork I got a quick tour and learned what to grab for each class. Tori C was an awesome instructor for my first time back at the barre in years. She was friendly, motivating, and always there to give me a helpful correction. I have also really enjoyed Suzanne's class. She is upbeat and motivating! The AC was not working at full force during the last class and she had me so much in the zone I didn't even notice. Highly recommend checking them out. They even offer child care at a super affordable rate during class. I think that is such a nice touch for moms. **Really bummed they are no longer letting Class Pass people sign up for classes, the only option now is a 7pm weekday class. I completely understand not letting Class Passers in to their busiest classes, but for example Tuesday at noon, that class is usually pretty empty. I was told they ran the Class Pass test for a year to see what they thought. Sad this will no longer be in my weekly routine.**

What makes barre3 stand out? 1) more cardio then other barre studios 2) lot's of mirrors and a much bigger room then some of the others in town 3) childcare (no I don't need it but I have so many friends I want to bring to workout with me and none of these boutique studios have childcare but barre3 does!!! ) Check the times though they only offer it for certain class times. 4) easy parking I was sweating puddles in this class an really enjoyed the cardio aspect. I also enjoyed the burn in my muscles the next day which means I got a good workout. We did a crazy plank series as well that was very challenging. She always greets you with a smile and classes with her are fun and exciting because she's constantly changing up moves so your muscles don't get lazy. She's constantly working with her students to make sure they're getting the best workout possible and she makes you feel good with her enthusiasm and praises. Ina was the was the instructor. She gave great direction and would help position you if you were off a little ( as long as you were ok with it). She's also very welcoming. You bring your own mat, towel, and water. If you dont have it you can rent it. They provide the blccks and syretch equipment if needed. They have express ( shortened) or regular time length classes. Both are really good and you'll get the full experience! The room climbed to 102 degrees so it wasn't too overwhelming. At the end you get the cooling towels and time to relax back into finishing the class. It feels clean and safe in the building. Would definitely suggest and go back!
