It turns out that the leading brand for such things is Bodum and we now have a shiny new French Press (from Amazon, of course) manufactured by Bodum. Bodum was originally launched in Copenhagen but is now a global brand with distribution in 55 countries. But it all comes back to the headquarters here in Triengen, Switzerland. Founded in 1944 in post-war Denmark, it started off as a French Press coffeemaker manufacturer with that simple Swiss design aesthetic. They've since expanded into other products - vacuum coffee makers, tea presses, juicers, coffee grinders and more. But they are still known for their industry leading French Press.
