We are just back from a long week-end in Bowness to see the Air Show ( I thought I would lose the will to live, but I actually loved it) and had to let you know about the tapas bar. Hubby could not keep me out of the place. We chose to eat there on Friday night, as we fancies a light bite, we were ushered upstairs where they serve food in the evenings (earlier this year we had a light lunch downstairs) and laughed as we struggled to choose just one or two dishes! We ended up with 8!! The monk fish wrapped in parma ham, sublime. The chorizo spicy and sticky, perfect for dipping your garlic bread in. The mixed kebabs worth fighting over, the garlic prawns bubbling in butter/oil, not forgetting the tempura vegetable ( my nod to healthy eating, ha ha)The bill, including house wine, came to just over 40 quid for the 2 of us. We then rushed downstairs into the lively bar and spent every penny we felt we'd saved on food, on the divine cocktails. I will be rushing back for more Cosmopolitans asap. We ate there again on Sunday, and again ate half the menu! Gorgeous fresh food, nicely presented and served. Can't wait to get back there. read more
