Majid seems absolutely lovely when you meet him. Please consider this to be your warning. He did a shoddy job on my remodeling in so many ways, cut so many corners that there is clearly an integrity issue. I'll give you one big example - he hid enormous (enormous!) holes in the kitchen wall behind the cabinets and large appliances that he installed. Bodee was referred to me by Max Parangi, Architect, to do some structural work that was outside of the purview of my kitchen/bath contractor, as well as extensive decorative carpentry. Their crew got everything done very quickly and beautifully. Long story short, after 7 months, the kitchen/bath outfit STILL hadn't finished my kitchen or bathroom, getting me in deep doo-doo with co-op board who wanted the work stopped. We are very happy with our decision to work with Majid (owner) and Bodee Construction to renovate our basement. Their professionalism, communication and service was outstanding throughout the entire project. Scope of Work: Full gut renovation of our basement which included a laundry room, a full bathroom and adding a wet bar. Pre-construction: My wife found Bodee online and decided to get an estimate from them based on their excellent web reviews. We got 4 estimates and Bodee came in second most expensive. However since Bodee's estimate was so thorough, we knew exactly what was included and not included. This is very important in that if an estimate is not thorough, you might find that as the project moves forward a lot of the work you thought was included, is not, leaving the customer to pay a lot more money down the road. We ended up choosing Bodee after meeting with Majid and basically going with our gut instincts that he was the guy we wanted to work with. The Work: A lot of GCs will wine and dine you until the contract is signed then disappear or barely show up once the work begins. Regardless of how good the work ends up being, this leaves an unsettling feeling and causes much anxiety for the customer during the duration of the work. With Bodee, you can be assured you are dealing with an owner who will show up almost every day and replies back to calls/texts within a reasonable amount of time. His crew generally arrived first thing in the morning and Majid would stop by sometime shortly after to instruct them and to answer any questions or concerns from us. His team cleaned up after themselves every single day and were very professional and courteous. Result: Majid gave us an estimate of 8-12 weeks and we were done on week 12. We are very pleased with the results. For all the people who told me to count on adding 1/3 of the price and 1/3 of the projected time to complete a gut renovation of my bathroom, let me tell you about Majid and his company, Bodee Construction. Bodee underbid other contractors by several thousand dollars and finished on time. My 1910 bathroom didn't have a single level, unbroken surface -the walls, floor, ceiling were all cracked and off kilter from a century of sagging and use; leaks from the sink, tub and toilet were patched up repeatedly. At the end of the job, I had the sleek, beautifully finished room I dreamed of, from a crew of professional, courteous, hard-working and meticulous workers that didn't cause me agita. Majid came in to supervise, make adjustments, talk me through the project, discuss fixtures and lighting I hadn't yet chosen or take direction from me questions that came up. He even His back office/admin is beyond helpful! They're incredibly responsive, answering questions within minutes. Majid gave me his cell number so I could always reach him directly. My friend used Bodee Construction for his Condo remodel and I asked for a bid from Majid along with 8 other contractors. It was pretty awkward with 9 contractors measuring and fighting for my attention asking about what needed to be done on the same day, but I had 1 day to get bids before closing on the house. Of the 9, Majid is the only one who followed up (and it was a big project) which was a good indication to me how the communication would be during the 6 weeks required. We spoke every single day during the remodel, he had design advice, and went above and beyond when shopping for material. He is known for his quality workmanship as I was told from several Porcelanosa and even does the installments there and in NYC for them. You may get cheaper bids on your project, but when it comes to the communication, workmanship, and care he and his crew puts in, you get what you pay for. No unexpected expenses, no cutting corners, and no stress (NO STRESS!!) is the best way to describe the project. There's no way of putting this without sounding extravagant, but Majid Bahmanpour (owner of Bodee Construction) is, quite simply, the finest contractor we have ever worked with. My husband and I had to install a kitchen from scratch in our unit in a brownstone in Hoboken. We got several quotes from three different contractors, but Porcelanosa (our cabinet company) recommended Bodee Construction, as they had extensive experience with their cabinet brand. So happy we followed Catalina Olmos' advice! (Catalina is Kitchen Designer at Porcelanosa). Bodee Construction transformed a tiny space into a kitchen worthy of a million-dollar unit in New York City! Majid and his crew were amazing - never stopped work in the middle of a very hot and humid summer - not even for lunch, and cleaned up after they were done (really appreciated this as we were living in the construction zone). The team's craftsmanship is above anything you will find with your average contractor. They passed every single inspection the FIRST time with flying colors - not an easy feat in Hoboken as the city tends to be a stickler for the smallest detail. Majid has great vision, and he is extremely trustworthy, experienced and the friendliest contractor you could ever hope to work with.
