About time it occurs again! I feel like I've seen them in the top 50 world's best bars but I don't really remember. Regardless, they're amazing. The space is gorgeous. It's a modern, sleek, open, & clean setup. A conducive atmosphere towards creating amazing concoctions. I had two cocktails: Tigi Wigi & Sex in the Forest. These cocktails were boozy, yet I was still able to taste all the notes within each cocktail. Even better? The bartenders were friendly and engaged in small talk. Great demeanor and I could see that they love what they do. I'd love to have a bar like this back in the city. Something unique and different from the masses. Until then, I'll keep traveling and finding amazing spots throughout the world like this one.

The plain white and black gave way to warm wooden colors. The entrance area is now divided into small booths with cozy armchairs and sofas. At the same time attention was paid to not completely let go of the typical simplistic Finnish design that is characteristic for Klaus K. The Livingroom is a great place for a drink with friends next to the fire place. Later at night the lower floor turns into a club and is one of the hottest addresses in town.

This summer, most of the trendy sea side places seem to be on the other side of town (Hernesaari), but this one has all the charm. The place is cosy and relaxed, the bar tender was funny and helpful (we even saw him serving tables which seems to be unheard of in Finland!!), and the view over the old harbour with wooden schooners was pretty by the sunset. The place had also selected their drinks carefully to display a great variety of Finnish specialties. To our surprise, they even serve Sandels and Iisalmi IPA beers on tap! For those who don't know, they come from a Finnish owned brewery from the Savo-region - worth tasting!

The ambiance is amazing! The front room (which has some amazing stained glass windows) feels like a formal study where one might sit and read a book or newspaper. There are nice comfy chairs all around with a few small tables. The back room feels more like an intimate lounge. There is seating available at the bar and then there are several booths (mostly for 2 people). This area would be great for those on a date looking for a little quiet time together. There is a well stocked bar in the front room that Throughout Blings there is some great recorded music playing in the background. While I was there I heard everything from Earth, Wind and Fire to Satana (Black Magic Woman). The music is loud enough to be heard but soft enough to hear yourself think (or participate in a conversation with another person or 2). Another great feature of Blings is that it's connected to the Radisson Blu Plaza hotel. This was perfect for me as it meant a short walk 'home' without going outside into the elements. Bartenders were friendly, people were speaking very quietly and respectfully to each other, and the music wasn't even loud! The inside is nice, got a nice "dark" atmosphere and the people there all seemed pretty cool. Just so weird, and unlike any bar one could expect to go to in the States. Sorry that the USA produces such annoying and loud drunk people, Finland. You guys are doing it right.

One of them is Bar Socis inside Hotel Seurahuone. The hotel is located right in the heart of Helsinki next to Sokos and around the corner from the main station. After entering you can already see the bar straight ahead. Bar Socis has a real Paris feeling to it. And that is not just due to the French music played here. The bar has a round shape and is covered by a beautiful colored glass ceiling. The center of the bar is a small fountain covered in blue and green light around which comfortable sofas and armchairs are placed. You can get various cocktails and of course wine and beer here. Prices are a bit higher then elsewhere in the center. The atmosphere is really something though and worth to spend at least an hour.
