The service was fabulous with very friendly staff who really care for your comfort in the restaurant. In addition, the food was very good. For starter, I ordered the garlic pizza bread with tomato sauce. The base was gorgeously crispy and had lots of strong garlic but not too much to ruin the taste. That, paired with a rich, sweet passata sauce made a very enjoyable start. For main, I ordered the lasagne on the early bird menu and, while the portion was rather small, it was beautifully cooked with a well seasoned beef and lovely, smooth white sauce. The staff were constantly checking if our food was OK and providing us with drinks and bread on tap. To finish, I had the white chocolate profiteroles with strawberries. The profiteroles were very pleasant and soft however for me, I found the white chocolate incredibly sweet but that could be because I don't have much of a sweet tooth so others may like it more. In conclusion, this restaurant has excellent service with widely delicious food and I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Went here last night for a 'romantic' meal for 2…read more Nice clean restaurant although it does feel the tables are set out a bit randomly (squeeze 'em in type thing). Seated on a table for 2 next to the main thoroughfare to the kitchen so quite busy with waiters and waitresses passing by. That said it wasn't too intrusive. However the restaurant itself was quite noisy due to other patrons...having to shout at each other has a habit of killing the romantic element of the evening! But that said it's the price you pay for going to such a popular restaurant! Kitchen is 'open' so you can see what the chefs are up to. Waiting staff - main waiter I believe is the owner, an Italian who has retained his accent and adds to the authenticity of the place. Other than that a mixture of family and young girls. Tad annoying that you get passed the bill when you asked for the desert menu as the staff can't hear you over the din of other diners. However the were very efficient & polite. Food - the menu is quite extensive and varied with about 12 starters to chose from and a few dozen main courses plus the specials dotted around the restaurant. I had homemade salmon fishcake to start and my partner had the 'special' onion soup. Both very tasty and plentiful. For main course he had Moussaka and I opted for chicken stuffed with mozarella and wrapped in parma ham. Both were delicious and not a morsel was wasted. Very filling though so we didn't make it through to desert although those that passed us looked very tempting! We were surprised that their coffee selection wasn't a bit more varied with just the usual Cappucino and Expresso's available. Came to £42 in the end including a couple of glasses of wine and worth every penny in my opinion. Definitely recommended.

Reet, now I know I have written a review for here before, but after a visit tonight with the wife…read moreagain, I felt like I had to come back on here and give it another review. I wasn't sure how I could beat my last trip there, or the 5000 trips before it, but tonight has been a blast... Let me paint you a picture (with my words of course).. As its my other half's birthday tomorrow, a few days ago I got a special offer through the post for a huge 25% off our bill, and a free bottle of house wine, clearly to encourage me to spend the her birthday there and reward me for my previous custom - but as its one of our favorite restaurants - lets just say we don't need much convincing! So we pulled up at about 5pm on a gorgeous Friday evening (tonight!) only to see the car park packed and wondered would we get seated - we goes in, and bless the girls that seated us, actually thought about where we were going to be sitting, and popped us on a table away from the other families in there with children (not that I have anything against kids at all!), but she recognized we were a couple having a meal together - so thoughtful and showed she thought about it! We sat on a table that wasn't on top of other ones and got down to ordering our food - oh and getting our complimentary bottle of wine - deeeelish!! Hmmmm, droool, the food... Chicken livers for the wife and duck spring rolls for me to start - crispy rolls, filled with duck and on an amazing sweet chilli sauce, she had livers that were meaty, cooked to perfection and almost melt in the mouth - in fact I am drooling AGAIN thinking about it now! Mains were fishcake for me, and slow roasted lamb with some ribboned pasta that has a name but I cant remember or spell it - anyway it was GAWGUS - meaty lamb, no fat, pasta cooked to perfection - oh my word I could go on but wont... Cos I will end up soaking the laptop... Service wise, very attentive, talking to us whilst taking our order but certainly not intrusive at all, knew there was a birthday when I had handed over the voucher for the free wine - I'll do anything for a free wine! - and took a real interest, asking whose birthday it was and wishing her a good un! I though this in itself was lovely but imagine my surprise when at the end of the meal the staff brought out an ice cream with a giant sparkler in it and sang Happy Birthday for her - aw it was a lovely touch and to be honest really made our night... I love this place and although people find it slightly more expensive, I don't, and I'm certainly not one to spend money without thinking about it. Its a complete you get more than what you pay for place, and for an evening meal like this I would have paid double - definitely a place to go!

The layout is spacious and relaxing, the food........what can I say but the best god damned food that I have had for a long time. The head chef has definitely got this right, great menu well balanced and put together, we have visited a number of times now and are hoping to get in for Xmas lunch. All I can say is next time you are in Rothwell look out for Salute and pay them a visit I can assure you that you will not be disappointed.

Looking back to the 80's, Luigi's used to be a popular pub, its in a great location at a major intersection with plenty of parking. The full bar is still present but the place has had a complete overhaul. Upon entry you are greeted by one of the many friendly staff that work there, we had reservations and were shown to our table right away, even though we were a good 30 minutes early. We got drinks whilst we waited for some of our party that were late arriving, the wait staff were completely unfazed by this and had no problem waiting, which was nice. We ordered a multitude of things and let me say there were no complaints from any of our party. I had the garlic pizza bread as an app (you'll have to share with the whole table as its very filling!) which was fantastic, they have a wonderful pizza selection and each one that we ordered was absolutely perfect, great crust baked just right and the sauce bold and robust, the calzones come with a side of dipping sauce was a beautiful mild tomato sauce that had a hint of cream, i recommend asking for a side of this for your garlic cheese pizza bread, yummy. The chicken, seafood and pasta dishes were unbelievable, cooked to order and severed piping hot, and cooked to a standard you'd expect in a city center bistro, high standards here for sure. The amount of specials available, in addition to the substantial menu made choosing what to have a real chore, but that's not a bad problem to have i think, especially when you consider everything we ordered was so damn good. Attentive and friendly staff, incredible food along with very reasonable pricing will make sure this place will be buzzing at the weekends, i'm going to go out on a limb here and say you will certainly need a reservation over the weekend to ensure you get a table. We were there on a normal mid week night and the place 90% full, a wonderful testament to a truly great spot, so if your looking for a hearty, authentic Italian dish, go here!
