It seemed like a unique time so we were in. They had a security at the front gate that cleared us and we found our way to the club. It was a festive crowd when I walked in about 630pm. We found our friends at a back table. They had already tried the happy hour buffet and we joined in. There were bacon wrapped dates, salmon cups, cheeses meats crackers and other hot bites. All were kept stocked and at the right temp. We got some wine off the menu, I got a nice Caymus cabernet. There was other food you could order. We got a flatbread to share that was done just right. Everything was great, including the service. The music was a steady flow of 80's hits that had everyone in a good mood. The cart girl spent most of the time on her phone and repeatedly put herself directly in the way of golfers who were trying to play. It felt unprofessional and honestly a bit unsafe. She was also rude and dismissive and gave me less change than what I was owed. It seemed like she had been drinking which is entirely unprofessional. To make things worse, my food order came out wrong. When the issue was brought up, the manager, Dave, handled it very poorly. Instead of resolving the situation calmly, he was rude and even yelled at his employees right in front of the patrons, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere for everyone in the dining area.

Now normally, I wouldn't review a caterer, but this was done by the restaurant folks, and I believe their quality and attention to detail would carry over to their restaurant. A carving station, which honestly, I did not try, but it sure looked good! The omelet station had two chefs that were prepared for not on,y omelets with whole eggs, egg beaters, or egg whites, they also would do fried eggs if requested. And cooked perfectly, at least to my standards. There was a bread/pastry/desert station that I tried (and almost succeeded) to avoid, and a standard steam table buffet area that had French toast, bacon (cooked perfectly, btw), sausage, potatoes, etc. But the best part was a smoked fish/bagel station, with all those wonderful things you see at the Jewish deli store. Smoked salmon, whitefish (the whole fish, 2 actually), sturgeon, sable, and all the fix'ins. Not only was it plentiful, but of a very high quality. Having grown up in the NY metro area most of my life, I am confident that I know quality smoked fish when I see it, and this was superb! The serving staff was also top-notch. It seemed there was one dedicated individual with overall responsibility for the party, with two other supervisors who kept a keen eye on the less experienced, but very attentive, staff. Glasses were always kept filled, and used plates promptly removed. Overall, very well done.
