Some things are comparable to the supermarket and some are less expensive. On the other hand, a few things are more expensive and not necessarily better in quality. We did find some nice onions -- I like that you don't have to buy an entire bag of them -- tomatoes, and limes, plus romaine lettuce. They have new and different items in the cooler and on the shelves. Some of the items are middle eastern -- like pita and hummus or za'atar and sumac spices. It was interesting to browse the shelves, too. There aren't that many independent produce markets left, especially in this area. We'd come back to check them out in the future, if nearby.

You also get to hold the bunnies for free. You get to feed the goats for free and you get to go into their enclosures and literally just hang out with goats for like 10 minutes. It's all self paced too! Make sure you try the pizza place as well it was elite! A small backdoor is the secret entrance to their amazing backyard space- full of tropical plants, statues, some covered tables (although not covered during heavy rain). It's a Germany company and they do things differently to keep the prices very, very low. Most folks aren't used to cart deposits. Yes, you will need to insert a quarter into the lock to release the cart. You get it back when you return the cart. This saves ALDI the cost of an employee running around the parking lot to bring the carts back. Most folks aren't used to bringing their own shopping bags. Yes, ALDI will sell you bags instead of the usual unlimited bags (at least here where the government doesn't require selling them). Oh, and you'll be bagging your own groceries instead of an employee doing it. The selection is limited, generally only a single brand of products and that generally isn't a name brand. ALDI's generic brand is very good but people may prefer a name brand. All of this and more to keep the payroll costs down. There generally aren't more than four or so employees in the store at any time. Low cost for them translates to low prices for you. I don't come often since it's not close, but every once in a while when I'm going to Costco, I'll just drive down a little bit further and stop in and pick up some things. I was so disappointed today. They've gotten rid of 99% of freezer section and they have the old cases for sale, so that's the end of that. Today they had long tables of garbage thrown on top and I'm not quite sure what it was, but people were digging through like it was some flea market garage sale. The entire store has changed and in my opinion not for the better. I was able to pick up a couple of avocados at 3 for a $1, a bag of potatoes so I can make mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving, some tomatoes, and that's about it. I did notice that they had a table full of hot pickle tomatoes that expired 9/20/2025 so that did it for me. I don't understand why you would put out food no matter what price it is, after the expiration date. The other thing that bothered me was the 4% fee for credit card. I know as a fact, if you have the right credit card processing you pay 1.9%. They also had a tip jar at the check out...for what... so the salaried employee can slide your purchases across a scanner and you can put the items in the bags you bring. No one packs your bags here and they don't even have plastic or paper bags. With all the fees, the prices aren't any less than TJs or Aldi. I know now, I don't ever have to drive down here again.
