He said he would test drive it and the next day I called and was told that it was DEFINITELY the tires making the noise replaceable at over $700+. When I went to pick up my car it still made the same grinding noise but I assumed it had been fixed. I drove it to IKEA in Canton, Michigan to pick up a very heavy desk and drove back using interstates. I then took it out to John's Towing for a recheck where the mechanic immediately jumped in for a ride and within seconds told me that I had a bad rotor and that my wheel could have raaily fallen off. I was also told by the mechanic that he used to work for D&M and that he's only out for your cash.

Came in for an estimate on some troubles I was having with my vehicle. I was told that the…read moretransmission needed to be replaced to fix the issue. Which would cost thousands of dollars, naturally. I went for a second opinion as the issues I was having didn't align with a bad transmission. Turns out it was just a sensor that needed replacing, costing only a few hundred dollars. Once the sensor was replaced by another shop the problems ended. I have been here multiple times through the years as they are the closest shop, but Everytime they asses the problem they are WAY off. I don't know if it's poorly trained mechanics or if they just assume anyone who isn't a professional in the auto industry is just completely clueless about vehicles. With the Internet being a thing and people being able to search up problems and be able to have a general idea what might be wrong with their car, you would think shops trying to intentionally scam customers would not longer be an issue. I'm not saying that's what happens there, it could be constant honest mistakes. Even when I took my car there for a simple oil change, problems arose. So I'm more willing to accept possible incompetence.

They had the kind of oil we needed to top us off and most places don't carry it. They even called 3 local parts stores trying to help us find the cap we needed, which Valvoline cracked when they over-tightened it. While taking a cross country trip our vehicle overheated and the transmission fluid burned up and…read morespilled over. It was 95 degrees on a Saturday afternoon and we were stranded. Hutch's towing towed us off the Ohio Turnpike and we stayed two nights at the Quality Inn across the street. I called Suburban Auto first thing Monday morning. Dave was very accommodating and got working on our vehicle right away. He was finished in just a few hours and did a very thorough job at flushing all the burnt gunk out of the car. When I thanked him for working so quickly he said he put himself in my shoes and thought how he'd want to get on his way home right away. I really appreciated his thoughtfulness and empathy to our situation as I was still two days from home and had two children and a dog with me. The car worked just fine all the way back to Connecticut without incident. I got in to see my regular mechanic a few days later to check the vehicle over. He said Suburban Auto did a great job. Very poor customer service - didn't call us once, kept giving us different prices and excuses, and very rude when asked to explain. Pay for the tow to a different shop, it's worth it.
