Very responsive and able to stop by on time. Didn't gouge me on the prices, did what was needed to get my furnace in good repair. Nice job!

On July 13th I come home to a Blount business card on our door asking to call them. I also talked to my real estate agent and she said Blount left her a message and the buyers real estate agent saying were not paying our bill. She forwarded me the voicemail. I reached out to Blount on July 13th and left a message with their answering service and spoke to them on July 14th. They said their service tech waited around our house for 40 minutes expecting to get paid for his service on the 7th. #1 it was never relayed that their service was COD. #2 it was never relayed to my husband on the day of the service how much was owed. We would have paid on the 7th if we were informed of that. Blount said they called the phone # they had on file for us and it was disconnected. We have had them done work for us in the past and they had our landline on file that has been disconnected for years. I called and made this appointment and provided my cell # and I emailed them a couple of times regarding this appointment. It's not my fault they are not updating their records with my current contact information. They had NO RIGHT to call and tell our real estate agent and the buyers agent telling them we are not paying our bill. I will not recommend them. If they think it's ok to do this type of business practice, no one should be doing business with them

We have used Modern Sheet Metal Inc (Modern Heating and Cooling) since we bought our house and…read morereplaced the heating/ac unit the next spring. They were professional, skilled, and had the the new system installed in the basement in very little time and it worked perfectly. A few years later the starter in it did burn out and their 24 hour emergency service person was prompt and had the part needed. The other day we thought we smelled gas in a small wall heater that is in our porch so we called them; they came right out to check. Turns out there was no leak (they did a thorough check) so we were happy about that. They also replaced our heating/ac unit's filter. Very professional, helpful, answered questions/concerns. I recommend Modern to anyone who is in the market for installation or service of HVAC.

First of all....they're awesome. We moved to the area in 1998 and added a/c soon afterwards…read more There was a Modern Sheet Metal sticker on the furnace, so I called them for an estimate. We haven't used anyone else, nor quoted anyone else since then. This past weekend I noticed an odd smell and soot buildup on the exhaust vent for our furnace. Since it was a Sunday in February, I called WE Energies first. The WE rep measured the CO2 at the exhaust and told me that he would need to shut our furnace down before he left, and recommended that I call my HVAC contractor. Modern Sheet Metal had someone at our house within a half an hour. He told me which furnace he would recommend and measured for the new unit. Since it was a Sunday, we scheduled the install for Tuesday. He then left three space heaters with us to keep the house warm. Monday morning's temp was 15 degrees outside, 64 inside. As I was preparing to leave for work at 7am, my phone rang. It was Modern asking if it would be okay to install the new unit that morning. The guys arrived before 7:30 and had the new furnace installed by 10:00. They also left the work area cleaner than when they arrived. Absolutely recommend them for your heating and A/C needs.

I purchased a house in De Pere with known furnace issues, and immediately was seeking a…read moreknowledgeable HVAC professional to consult the best method to heat one of the far wings of the home. We had an older zoning system and the dampers did not close properly, so the furnace did not heat that entire side of the house. The first company I consulted with I found during a Home Depot run. The salesman that came to my house told me that the duct work was too far from the furnace, and that my current furnace would never be able to heat that end of the house. That was some seriously bad news. His recommendation was to install a mini split in that room, essentially putting a big hole in my living room, adding wiring to power it, and placing a ground unit outside. That was just not appealing at all, so I figured I would try to get by a winter with a space heater. Bought the nicest one possible from Dyson, not cheap, it worked alright I guess. The furnace electrical went haywire one night and it and it required an emergency visit. My wife was not even aware of the name of the company I got the mini split quote from and called Apex on her own. They came quickly and were efficient in solving our problems. Knowing we had some issues, we purchased the annual package from them at a decent price. We have used it a few times since. The second time they came, I asked one of the professionals what he thought about heating that side of the house. He was extremely honest and knowledgeable. He told me that with a new, updated zoning system and new proper fitting dampers, he was confident my furnace would have no problems heating that side of the house. This was the solution I wanted to hear! The man that installed it did an ok job. He ran into some issues with some of the wiring of our Ecobee smart thermostat and was about to give up. We asked if he could consult with the man that told us about the new system. He walked him through it and even stopped by to make sure everything was right. I docked one of the stars for this; had he known how to install it without trying to give up, they would have received a full five stars. The system is flawless. It required some new wiring and they did not charge extra for that. The house is heated evenly and we love it. I messaged the original salesman to let him know for future customers that this worked. It actually cost more than what he was trying to sell me. I do not know what he was doing.
