Taylor was fantastic. I came in with a very unique and specific request: I needed something comparable to a relatively cheap bottle of wine they sell at Trader Joe's. But because it's for a wedding, I wanted it to be special and unique. Not only did he have multiple options of things that were comparable, but had the knowledge to say whether or not they surpassed what I was looking for. Not something you expect from a package store, but I will be back. read more

Love Bob's! I'm just starting to get in to bourbons. What I love about the store is that they take time to figure out what you like and will give you some suggestions based off what you tell them. Also, their selection is as good as anyone's in Knoxville. Their prices are fair. They're higher on some stuff and lower on others, but they're in line. I haven't been in a store yet that is any different. The store is nice, clean, bright and well laid out. The staff is incredible. I'll go to other places just to see what their store picks are, but Bob's is where the majority of my money goes. I would say the only drawback to Bob's is they don't have many bottles to sample from. It seems only the store picks have tastings available. read more

The signage has now changed to "Bob's Liquor Store." :-) This local gem is across from Trader Joe's and has a huge selection of liquor, mixers, beer, and wine. Lots of local breweries and wineries featured here as well. Don't worry, they've also got you covered with a variety of party goods and VOLS trinkets. How fun! The best part is that the service is friendly and the pricing is surprisingly reasonable for a non-big box shop. read more

Bobs is the best liquor store in Knoxville. The staff is so helpful and kind and if you're lucky you can run into Bob himself whom is a cheerful funny guy. I don't buy liquor anywhere else. They have the best price the best selection and they have great deals every week. Do yourself a favor and go to Bobs. You can thank me later. read more

love the selection honestly and being able to browse with several employees offering to help me. however, when i went to check out the guy at the counter was super rude to me. he took verbal note of my young age (21) and acted like i was an idiot whose never been to a store before. he mansplained that the bag was "just paper and glue" and sarcastically showed me how to hold it. i'm not one to leave reviews but honestly i was so off put i don't think ill be back read more

This package store is super cute inside & out! It has a great vibe inside. The store has a great selections of wine & bourbon. The only downside is the prices are a bit higher than places like total wine. In the picture you can see a picture of the laphroaig scotch & it's price tag is about $10ish dollars higher than when I looked at the same scotch at Total wine the next day. Other than this, great store!! read more

I recently made a purchase at Bob's Liquor Store. It has plenty of parking and, as a bonus, is located directly across from Trader Joe's. The customer service was excellent with friendly, helpful and knowledgable staff. The store is very well-organized with large, easily visible signage directing you to efficiently find your desired liquor item from their broad selection. I will definitely return there and I write this review, in part, to make others aware of this gem of a store. read more

This is a good liquor & wine store in the Knoxville area. The prices are good because they have the a lot of storage space where they can buy in bulk and give you the better deal. They frequently have wine specials. If you need suggestions ask for Tracy. She has not failed me on suggesting good bottles of wine. She suggests things around the range of $10-15. I feel I get the best bang for my buck, they have a large selection, and they are friendly. Hope you enjoy Bob's! Cheers and Enjoy! read more

I go there all the time....Well did!! Good prices and service. I get 1 bottle of vodka every time. $29 and some change every time....ish. Saw on my bank account $54.98 was charged from there. Never wore a mask in there, cause I'm always in and out. They're not wearing them as well... Called them out on the over charge and they said sorry... Can you wear a mask in next time..? REALLY? Been going to Bob's for years! Great selection, great prices but more importantly they have fantastic people working there! Even my dog likes going to Bob's(treats at the counter) Buy for several large events and too much personal than I need to because I can get the help I need. Leslie, David, Bo, Ashley and all the others are top notch in my book! Good times come from Bob's! read more

I was looking for a weird Amaro for a cocktail and couldn't find it anywhere. When I went into Bob's they said they didn't have it but asked for my number. A week later they texted me saying they got it in. The biggest store in town (total wine) wouldn't even do that. That's insane customer service and I'll be a customer forever now! Super nice and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend this place. read more

Whenever I find myself past the Papermill line, I usually also find myself at Bob's. It's almost one-stop shopping with Trader Joe's and that's pretty awesome, but more than that the selection is superb. Their wine selection is pretty big. I am always able to find something new that I have tried before, along with my tried-and-true favorites. The staff has always been helpful in offering suggestions or helping narrow down a selection. They are knowledgeable about what they sell. I'm also a big fan of their specials. You can get substantial wine discounts on their weekly deals and others throughout the store. Bob's Package Store - This is straight up genius! - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Knoxville, Tennessee

I started going back to Bob's several month's ago after living out of state and in Nashville for several years. The store and great customer service is the same as it was in the 1990's-early 2000's. If there is something you need, or if there's an item cheaper at another nearby store, Bob's will do whatever they can to help you out. They might not always be able to match an expensive priced item in the big box liquor store, but they do whatever they can. read more

Bob's was my favorite liquor store since we moved to Knoxville. Not anymore. Today, I stopped by for some single malt scotch. My favorite Glenfiddich 12 year old, the price tag $78 and change for half gallon. A young man at cash register charged me $93 and change. When I asked why, he went to the back and returned with a price tag of $93. Every other store would honor the price on the shelf, but noooo, that young man wouldn't budge, stating that it cost them more than $78. Well, I can find all Bob's has and more at the Total Wine. For $15 they lost a customer. So long, Bob's! read more

So I avoided Bob's for a long time, because frankly, the name "Bob's Package Store" evokes in my mind the image of a bait shop with a moonshine still out back. Instead, I would make my way around various overpriced liquor stores in Knoxville, until one day my boyfriend at the time dragged me into Bob's. It was like (drunk) angels sang, y'all. I've never been back to another Knoxville store since. Great prices, clean store, friendly clerks. I never feel like they're just watching me to make sure I don't stuff a bottle of Boone's Farm in my coat or anything. I believe the selection is pretty nice, too - although in the interest of full disclosure, I'm not a very discriminating drinker. I did find a particular wine I'd been searching for all over two counties for in here, though, so that's good enough for me. read more

Best selection in Knoxville and East TN. Kind and helpful staff with great knowledge.

One of the best liquor stores in Knoxville, huge selection and for the most part fairly priced. Bob's usually gets pillaged of the big secondary bourbon market items as they get them in like the Weller line but some real gems get overlooked often. Good spot for both that special occasion bottle or weekend pick up. Plenty of whiskey and wine so even if they don't have the bottle that you are looking for, they are certain to have a suitable replacement. I have found the staff to be very helpful and knowledgeable, no matter how many questions i ask them. Thankfully for me, they did overlook a bottle of Macallan 25 that had been sitting on their shelf for a while and I got it for $500 less than MSRP. read more

Bob's is by far the best liquor store in Knoxville. Lots have a great selection, others have great service, and a few have low prices, but Bob's has all of the above. They have advertised specials, which are all pretty great. But, even better, they have an unadvertised wine special each week. This isn't just like a buck or two off, but this week, it was about 40% lower than usual for a decent bottle of wine. Also, as others have noted, the staff is awesome. They're really good if you're looking for something, but not sure what you need. They're very knowledgeable and not at all pretentious or anything of the sort. read more

NEVER AGAIN!! After being treated so rudely by the owner, I will never go back! I have been giving Bob's Liquor & Wine my business for over 15 years ever since I moved literally just down the street in West Hills neighborhood. Staff was always professional, courteous, and helpful. Unfortunately I can not say the same for the owner! The owner was not only rude, he used profanity, and was less than forthright. Almost two weeks ago I asked the staff when they would be getting in and selling any limited release bourbons. They advised the owner had not made a decision yet, that it may be the following week. At the beginning of that week, I called or went by on Monday and Tuesday, still no word (as it was the owner who would decide). So Wednesday I called and it was the owner who answered the phone. The owner told me they had sold out all the limited release bourbons. I asked him how that was given his staff had been telling me they had not been released as recently as the day before. The owner got really rude and belligerent and started using profanity than hung up the phone on me. When I called back and asked him why he was being so rude, he ranted he was sick and tired of people calling and asking about the bourbon. A few days later I happened to run in there and ask one of the other, multiple employees who had told me previously the owner had not decided when to release the bourbons (an employee who had been very helpful in the past). The employee told me that they had in fact not released the bourbons. The employee had told me the owner was saying that just to stop people from calling. As someone who owned a business, I am appalled any business owner would act as rude and untruthful as the owner of Bob's Liquor and Wine did to me. Especially someone who has been a loyal customer for over 15 years. Obviously the owner of Bob's Wine & Liquor could care less if some one in the neighborhood had given loyal patronage for over 15 years. So if you get one of the employees, they are good, but if you get the owner, ee's nasty, rude untruthful, and will not appreciate your business. I prefer to do business with establishments where the ownership appreciates loyal patronage. read more

Are you kidding me? The best! Cognac, wine and Ukrainian horiylka (vodka). I drive out of my way to go here due to their stance on russian aggression in addition to an excellent selection, good prices and service. Parking lot is a tad small but they are worth my patronage. Slava Ukraini! read more

I typically go in for my favorites and through the guidance of one of Bob's wine experts I leave with some new found favorites! I'm pretty ignorant to the South's way of life. You can't buy liquor at the grocery store. Safeway in California has a decent collection of wine. This place is just a step above that. Why it's called Bob's Package Store? Who knows...it's really a liquor store! I'm easily amused and they have a cool tub that will quickly chill your wine. Cool! read more

What happened to this place? I think being voted "Best in Knoxville" went to their head because they used to be a pleasant, friendly and helpful liquor/wine store. No more! For the second time, I went in to purchase a case of wine. While one clerk went to get it I stood, ready to pay and watched the cashier completely ignore me doing nothing and then proceeded to check out another customer behind me. I had to wait for the clerk who got the wine to return and check me out on another register. There are several more accommodating liquor stores who will get my business in the future. I believe Bob must have sold out and left town! read more

Their selection is indeed large, but it isn't cheap or good. It's like they order their wines by randomly throwing darts at a catalog. Prices are comparable to everywhere else in town, sometimes a bit lower, sometimes higher. The most notable thing about Bob's is its incredibly poor customer service! Customers to them are annoying creatures who need to part with their money as quickly as possible, then get out. It's just a very unpleasant shopping experience. read more

Bobs is a busy liquor store because of their prices and selection not because of their customer service or I should say lack of customer service. Don't ever ask somebody who works there for advise because not only are they clueless on wine and spirits but they will almost get upset if you try and talk to them. Recently I bought a bottle of wild turkey only to find out a week or so later that there was a manufacturer rebate of $5.00. Why didn't the cashier mention that to me?... because well it's Bob's, sort of the Knoxville liquor store version of Wal-Mart... In my opinion there are no discount larger liquor stores in Knoxville with good service... you may get good service at a smaller liquor store like Turkey Creek Wine and Spirits but unfortunately they don't have the prices of Bob's, Mcscrooges or Toddys....so you're choice better prices or better service....i think the Knoxville market is ripe for both, big discount and good service well we'll see.... read more

Short and sweet, the best prices in town on liquor and wine, as well as excellent customer service. Bob's is the only place i go to stock up. I have tried Toddy's liquor store, but have not had good experience with their prices or service. Bob's is the best in town hands down. read more

This is probably the 2nd yelp review I have ever done. Living in Farragut I do not go to this store very often, only when I am in the mall area or at Trader Joes. I am giving three stars only because their prices and specials are good. I saw someone else said something about the unfriendly people there - and wanted to confirm that I agree - the people that work here are very unfriendly. I have never had a smile or acknowledgment when walking in door, and I don't think I have ever even had a "hello" when they start to ring me up. Seldom a thank you either. I am not exaggerating. I always wonder if there are times when one of these unfriendly people congregating at the registers and checking out is the owner(s). read more
