At my daughter's 2-year checkup, this doctor, Mr. Peter Harris, barely even did an actual exam. Yet he felt completely comfortable telling me my child was "severely autistic" and would never live a normal life, go to a regular school, or be around other kids. Who says that to a parent--especially without a proper evaluation by a true ASD professional? It was cruel, reckless, and completely inappropriate. I left that appointment terrified and heartbroken. No parent should ever be spoken to like that based on what felt like a rushed, lazy assessment. Thankfully, I trusted my gut and did NOT follow his referral. I paid extensively out of pocket for an independent evaluation, by a world renowned doctor, and guess what? My daughter is NOT autistic. She simply has a speech delay and some oral motor issues; things that are manageable and common. So not only was Mr. Peter Harris wrong, he was wildly wrong. To make it even worse, they had the nerve to call me months afterwards to make sure I went through with their referral--like they were trying to double down on their misdiagnosis, or receive a nice kickback from UC Davis. This bargain bin of medical clinics throws around serious labels like it's nothing, with zero regard for the emotional damage it causes families, especially mothers. It's fear-mongering, plain and simple. If you care about your child, get a second opinion, trust your gut, and think twice before trusting this clinic and doctor. No one should have to go through the anxiety and distress that I endured.

In other PT clinics, I was assigned a single specialist. At Radius, I had an entire exceptional crew. They were kind, courteous, knowledgeable, personable yet professional, and incredibly competent. The business model is excellent: you're first assigned a chiropractic doctor who oversees your care and does a body-mind-spirit check-in at every visit. In my case, that was Dr. Austin Van Poole--a highly trained, knowledgeable, and deeply intuitive Doctor of Chiropractic with truly magic hands and a gentle, inquisitive nature. After a hands-on assessment in his office, he would take me out to the floor and hand me off to Eric and Nick, a couple of fun-loving health enthusiasts you can't help but like (and even admire). The three of them would have a quick discussion about my progress, and Dr. Van Poole would direct them on whether to focus on stretching, strengthening, or soothing, depending on where I was in my recovery. These guys are hands-on in the trenches--pushing you when you need it and giving you hope when you've lost it. Even the receptionist doubles as a cheerleader. You really couldn't be in better hands. When I first arrived at Radius, right after my third surgery, I was a mess: in constant pain, with severely limited range of motion and a miserable attitude. The road to recovery was long, with days of despair where I thought I'd never feel whole again. But where others had fallen short, this team guided me through the hardest parts and brought me back far beyond what I had hoped for. I would rate Anderson at the top. Elsewhere, by comparison, I've felt like, to some extent, I've received "cookie cutter" treatment. Anderson's treatment feels more personal.
