    Bricello's Caterers and Grilled Formaggio

    Bricello's Caterers and Grilled Formaggio

Once you have eaten Bricello's Grilled Formaggio you too will realize this is what a grilled cheese is supposed to be. My Wife and I happened upon this wonderful gem when we were headed to Berkeley Springs State Park for a Roman Bath Soak. We ordered the Italian Grilled Formaggio and the Caprese. Both were beyond amazing. The wonderful couple that were running the food truck were also extremely friendly and delightful. They described the sandwiches, the bread, everything. You knew this food was about to be prepared with love. They told us we were going to love the soak and they literally moved to Berkeley Springs from MD because of it. We ordered the two sandwiches and they aid it would be about 10 minutes. I knew right then and there these were going to be the best damn grilled cheese ever. Now the sandwiches we ordered: The Italian Grilled Formaggio had Mozzarella, Provolone, Fontina, Sun-dried Tomatoes, Pesto, and Country White Bread. The Caprese had Sliced tomatoes, Mozzarella, Pesto, Organic Arugula, Balsamic Vinegar Reduction, and, Sourdough Bread. Both sandwiches were off the chain. The Italian blend of cheeses paired with the Sun-dried Tomatoes and Pesto was such an amazing combination. The bread is from Bakery de France and it is not like regular bread at all. Very hearty flavorful and perfect for a grilled cheese sandwich. The Caprese was also bursting with flavor from the marinated Tomatoes and and Arugula with the Pesto. The Sourdough Bread was a perfect pairing with this sandwich. It was an amazing grilled cheese but it was also refreshing. It was like I just ate a grilled cheese salad. Which doesn't make sense but the flavors in my mouth tell me it does. I would happily eat at this wonderful food truck again. Do your stomach, taste buds and childhood memories a favor and purchase a Grilled Formaggio (aka grilled cheese) from Bricello's!

Bob's Big Beef Outdoor Catering - Brisket platter

I was trying so hard to support this place because I love to support small business, but Bob's Big…read moreBeef was just not good at all. I ordered the Brisket platter with collard greens and mashed potatoes. The Brisket was incredibly dry and I'm pretty sure the mashed potatoes were instant. I wouldn't have been upset if my bill was $10, but it was $17. That's DC prices at a sit down restaurant. Unfortunately, I have to say this was one of the most disappointing meals that I've had in a long time. At least the staff were nice :)

I came across Bob's Big Beef and Barbeque, so instead of letting the trip go to waste, i decided to sample some bbq. The following is a summary of my experience: I had about 4 to 5 people on front of me, but the line moved quick. I put my order in, the service was friendly, and I was happy that I had the option to eat there at one of the outdoor tables. The food: Of course, I went with the standard brisket sandwich with mac&cheese, and baked beans. I feel this is a fundamental in bbq and if this is not executed properly there is no reason to try anything else. PROS: Meat was moist and juicy, and the portion was generous. The bun may have been scratch-made, or from a local bakery. I am not certain but if it is store-bought it is of high quality. BBQ sauce was sweet and tasted good The portions of the sides were also generous, and the combo included a 12oz soda. Cons: While the meat was juicy, it had a blandness to it. I could have drowned it in sauce, but I believe there should be a balance in the flavor of the meat and the flavor of the bbq sauce. You may have different tastes. BBQ baked beans tasted like pork n beans from the can...but, not the good brand. they were topped with a small amount of chopped brisket which did not enhance the canned flavor. Mac and cheese was overcooked, and again the "cheese" tasted bland like it was a premade mix I finished the sandwich, but only ate a portion of the sides. This is uncommon for me at a bbq joint. Thanks for taking the time to read, if you decide to sample Bob's big beef (I didn't notice how this beef is "bigger" than any other bbq place I have been to) I hope you have a good experience.

I think they use a lot of frozen items. My fiance (now husband) and I were referred there under the impression that we'd save money with them. Business-wise, things went smoothly until Teri Leiter herself decided to take over our event. This is truly a person who has no business running a catering company, and I'm shocked they've stayed in business this long under such poor entrepreneurship. She was flaky and inattentive. When I sent her an email of our budget, instead of working with me and making suggestions, she waited a month to respond to our attempts at contacting her, only to tell us she wouldn't cater our wedding unless we spent more money. Caterers have minimums, I understand, but it's clear that she was trying to back us into a corner so we'd have no choice but to pay her, given that she waited until a month before our wedding to impart such vital information, and most other companies need more notice than one month. Fortunately, we weren't stuck with them and were able to find a wonderful caterer with organic delicious food for much less money - The Savory Spoon Catering Company in Frederick, MD. I gave Savory Spoon our budget and within 24 hours they came up with a lovely menu for us that fit our budget. I learned you don't have to settle for substandard just because you have a budget, and believe me, Leiter's so-called "fine" catering is definitely substandard.
