I originally tried their pizza at a Markham Dog Alliance event and was excited to try another pizza. So naturally, we brought our two little dogs and grabbed a spot on the patio. My wife and I both got beer flights, and we were really impressed with quite a few of the beers. We're pretty picky when it comes to sours, but the Cherry Cheesecake Sour and Guava Sour were standouts for us. Both were fantastic and easily some of our favourites of the flight. For food, I went with the Smoked Mac & Cheese. It was a little soupy underneath the top layer of cheese, but it still had an awesome smoky flavour, especially with the brisket mixed in. The BBQ drizzle was awesome and sweet too. Overall, I really enjoyed it. My wife got the Fish Tacos. She enjoyed the flavour, although she's had better fish tacos elsewhere. They became soggy pretty quickly, but she still liked them overall. Unfortunately, what really put a damper on our visit was an interaction involving our dogs. At one point, a couple with dogs came onto the patio. Our dogs barked as they walked by, and one of their dogs was also pretty reactive, which actually made us feel a little better because we knew we weren't the only ones dealing with that. However, we were later told by staff that we'd have to leave if our dogs continued barking. We've visited a lot of dog-friendly breweries and patios, and we've honestly never had this issue before. We completely understand that excessive barking can disturb other customers, and we're always responsible for our dogs, but being told we'd have to leave really rubbed us the wrong way, especially in a place that advertises itself as dog-friendly. What made it worse was that we immediately felt anxious and uncomfortable for the rest of our visit. Instead of being able to relax and enjoy our food, we felt like we had to rush through the rest of our meal because we were worried our dogs might bark again and we'd be asked to leave. It really wasn't a good feeling at all, and unfortunately it took away a lot of the enjoyment from what had otherwise been a nice visit. What's frustrating is that the staff themselves were actually very, very nice. I had a great conversation with one of the employees and have nothing bad to say about the people working there. It was specifically the handling of the dog situation that really disappointed us. If you're going to advertise yourself as dog-friendly, we feel there should be a reasonable expectation that dogs are going to...well, act like dogs sometimes. The beer was excellent, the food was good, and the staff were friendly, but unfortunately that interaction and the anxiety it caused for the remainder of our meal...brought our overall rating way down.
