We celebrated Georgia Tech graduation this past weekend at Bobby Dodd Stadium, and it was a memorable experience--rain and all! As a new GT alum, I'm clearly biased, but this really is one of my favorite stadiums. The field looked great, and the staff was organized and helpful throughout the day. The Jumbotrons are crisp and well-positioned, so guests seated all around had a clear view of the field. My guests also raved about the amazing city skyline views from the stands, depending on where you're seated. And of course, the Ramblin' Wreck made its iconic appearance--a highlight for anyone who knows Tech tradition. The Wreck is a 1930 Ford Model A and Georgia Tech's official mechanical mascot. It leads the football team onto the field at all our home games, and seeing it roll onto the field for graduation gave the day a uniquely nostalgic, GA Tech feel. A few practical tips: *Clear bag policy is strictly enforced--especially important for women with purses. One of my guests had to "bag check" hers, ouch *Mobile tickets only, which scanned without any hiccups. *Security screening includes metal detectors at all entrances. *It's an open-air stadium, so you're exposed to the elements--no umbrellas allowed, and we had rain in the forecast. Ponchos or rain jackets are a must! *Parking can be tricky, and traffic around campus gets intense--Uber is a good call if you can swing it. Real simple, nice stadium. It was my first time there on the 3rd, for the Chris Brown concert. I have to say, I didn't like it for a concert. Being that they have bleachers, there was a lot of rattling going on and seating got tricky because it was bleachers style seating. These are my reasons why no 5-stars.... oh yeah be ready to walk some stairs, depending on your gate entrance. Each staff member I encountered was very helpful and nice. There were plenty of stalls in the restroom and it was clean. I'm not sure of the concession stand or stands because we stopped, ate and drank before we got there. It did look as if there is no bad seat in the stadium, rather high or low. I could go back for a game for sure but probably nor for a concert. read more

i would give the whole event a minus one million. i purchased 2 tickets. 73 year wife for some unknown reason had to see Bruno mars. I purchased tickets that were supposed be .3 from venue. When i received the tickets they had a different address and was a mile away. With her being handicapped and having a very difficult time walking it took an hour for each walk not to mention the pain. When she arrived at the venue they made her throw away her monocular allowing the guy next to her take binoculars into the concert. I will do everything to make her happy but i hope this will keep folks out of those venues that are even a little handicapped. I requested handicapped but they didn't offer. I will never attend anything s tubhub or bobby dodd has to offer. As far as Bruno mars $600 for 2 tickets. don't think that will happen ever again read more

Game day experience was a blast. There are tons of things to do and not just tailgating. I wish our tickets showed which gate is best to use for entry. Staff here from security to concessions were great. Restrooms could be kept cleaner. I liked they have drinking fountains throughout the stadium especially on a summer night game. read more

I got tickets for two Georgia Tech home football games at Bobby Dodd Stadium and went in late October and mid November this past football season. I love this stadium because it has a lot of character, being so old and looking like sections got added over the course of its 109 years of being in existence. Plus sitting in the West stands allows fans to have a beautiful and fantastic view of the Atlanta skyline. Bobby Dodd Stadium has metal bleachers for seats set above concrete. Fans have to either bring their own padded seats or rent them. I believe that all of the seats have a great view of the action on the field. The PA system works great. Getting around through the stadium requires fans to use ramps, stairs and/or elevators. There are some areas in the stadium that allow fans in wheelchairs to park and have an unobstructed view of the field. Restrooms are spread throughout the stadium on different levels, and fans don't have to walk very far. The same goes with concessions stands. For fans arriving early to the stadium, select concessions items are discounted until the start of the game. I'm not sure what the parking situation is because I take MARTA train to North Station and walk the three blocks to the stadium. Getting in and out of the stadium is easy, since there are multiple gates on just about all sides of the stadium. One of the times I came here, I was stopped at the gate because I was carrying a compact umbrella. Luckily, the gate attendant instructed me where I could drop off the umbrella at a complimentary bag check area and pick it up after the game. read more

Not only did the concession stand run out of the snacks and beers by halftime, but a uniformed usher also told me she didn't work here and refused to help me when I asked for directions. Was quite a disappointing first time as a fan of the visiting team. If you're coming as a GT fan, I would keep your expectations low. This is a rival game, and the student section has been mostly empty the entire game. It certainly is not a festive environment. read more

I've never had an opportunity to visit Bobby Dodd until today and it sure was an experience. The Atlanta United Inagural match was held her and with 55,000 people there, it was truly a packed house. Arriving to the stadium was no issue but I'd definitely recommend taking Marta if at all possible. There's parking options but many of them require a permit or they're charging $15 to $20 to park. Anyway, I've never been to a GA Tech football game but I'd imagine they're used to handling large crowds but not this night. Not sure if it was the enthusiasm of the fans but there were no set "lines" to get in to enter the stadium but just clumps of people pushing one another. To be quite honest, once we got to the gate security didn't really do too much to ensure everyone's safety. Didn't really see them checking anyone or their bags. Once we made our way through the gate, we found our section and seats very easily. The signage is very clear and helpful. Our seats gave us a great view of the game and I loved being able to also see the game on the big screen. I didn't take part in any of the food or drink options but the folks around did and maybe next time, I'll take part because the food looked pretty good. My 200th review has arrived, and keeping with the GA Tech theme (Georgia Tech was my 100th review), I am excited to finally write this review! This past weekend I had the opportunity to show my hunny my alma mater, experience homecoming for the first time since graduation, and watch the Yellow Jackets beat up on the Duke Blue Devils. Our seats were at the end zone and were halfway up, but seriously, we were at the best spot. Straight view of the screen, with the beautiful Atlanta skyline behind Bobby Dodd. There seriously isn't a bad seat here! It was a scorcher this weekend, so we spent halftime in the shade to fill up our water bottles and cool down before the 2nd half. Can't wait to come back!! Bobby Dodd Stadium at Historic Grant Field ("The Flats"). To me, this is the best football stadium in the world, but I'm biased, of course. Today marks the 106th meeting between Georgia Tech and Georgia and Tech's last home game of the 2011 season, the school's 119th year playing football. The stadium was constructed in 1913 and has remained in use ever since. That's why "Historic" is in the name. Bobby Dodd Stadium is the oldest on-campus stadium in NCAA Division I-A football. I still remember the first game I attended, September 2, 2000 vs. Central Florida. I was a lowly freshman living on East Campus, next to the stadium. I've attended games every season since then, 11 years and counting. I've been there for big wins... 10/28/06 vs. Miami (30-23) - this win pretty much punched our ticket to the 2006 ACC title game 10/17/09 vs. Virginia Tech (28-23) - we stormed the field and afterwards, went on to win the 2009 ACC championship ...and gut-wrenching losses. 9/9/00 vs. Florida St. (26-21) - we led in the 4th quarter against the then-No. 2 team in the nation 9/29/01 vs. Clemson (47-44) - Woody Dantzler marched into the end zone untouched to end the game in OT 10/6/05 vs. NC State (17-14) - game on the line, Reggie Ball's short pass intended for Calvin Johnson was intercepted in the end zone I got to experience ESPN College GameDay in 2006 when Notre Dame faced us in Atlanta. I've had the pleasure of seeing many future NFL players don the white and gold including the aforementioned future pro hall-of-famer Calvin Johnson (a.k.a. "Megatron"). Bobby Dodd Stadium and its setting are unique. Where else in college football do you have a magnificent view of a downtown skyline? Yes, the stadium does look like it's been piecemealed together, but I think the architects did a very good job considering the limited space on-campus inside the city. It gives BDS @ HGF some of its charm. I'll admit, game day parking and traffic can be a pain, but tailgating is fun, especially with new greenspace available on campus. Yellow Jacket Alley is a tradition not to be missed. Everyone has to experience at least once in their lives. The stadium can hold 55,000 fans. Not too big and not too small. The best places to sit are the West stands (because the sun is not hitting your face) and the Upper North stands (excellent Madden-like view of the action and great view of the downtown Atlanta skyline). Bobby Dodd Stadium is a popular choice for ESPN's Thursday night football coverage. The Yellow Jackets have been on ESPN Thursday night football for 19 consecutive years. Impressive. There's nothing else like watching the Ramblin' Wreck lead the team onto the field. Georgia Tech: 4 national championships, 14 consecutive bowl appearances. This stadium sucks. Bleachers just don't work for games when you buy a ticket for a specific seat. Tight fit. Good view of the field though and of the sky line though. Wouldn't come back here if it wasn't because Atlanta united is playing there until the real stadium is done. Parking is pricey around the area or hard to find. It's in the middle of Georgia Tech so find cheaper parking, and either walk or take an Uber in. read more

Nice skyline backdrop, 55k seats with not a bad view in the house, unique food choices (i.e. chick-fil-a, Zaxby's and Mexican), usually good football, well maintained field, good history and tradition. Parking isn't bad, it's just the fact that it's Midtown Atlanta where you have to be careful where you park to not get towed or ticketed. If you aren't a tailgater, take marta to North Ave and take .5 mile walk to the stadium. Tailgating is great. GT has added a crap ton of green space to it's campus but you gotta find parking of course. read more

There's a reason why ESPN gives Georgia Tech a Thursday night game every season: by night the stadium has one of the best views in college football. ESPN loves those establishing shots with the Atlanta skyline lit up in the background, and Bobby Dodd delivers. Oh yeah, the ESPN staff gets to run to the Cheetah after the game too...but I digress. The stadium itself has undergone so many additions and renovations that it's nothing like the original. It's not the biggest or the best stadium, but the views are good from almost any spot and it's convenient to downtown with MARTA and parking over at Technology Square. It's not too hard to get tickets to see a game whether you're a fan of Tech or the visiting team. I've been to a few, typically to see who Tech is playing since I grew up in a UVA family. read more

Today marks the start of my 13th season of Georgia Tech football. I know that doesn't sound like much, but I did grow up in Alabama, not Georgia, so cut me some slack. Of course, this also makes me biased for loving this stadium, the oldest continuously used stadium in Division I football. From the very first game that I attended at this stadium, I was impressed by the location. How many other schools have such an awesome skyline view behind them? That's why we get at least one Thursday night ESPN game a season. Also, it's pretty convenient to a MARTA train station, so it's easily accessible if you don't want to deal with parking and you've got others bringing the tailgating supplies. As others have mentioned - it's big enough to be a serious stadium, but small enough that even the upper upper seats have a decent view of the action. Also, there's a good view of the video screen from all the seats, and enough side boards with scores and stats that it's easy to keep up with the action without having to crane your neck. They've improved access and cleanliness over the years. The concessions could still use some updating, but that's probably because I sit on the East side, and it's the rich alumni on the West side that get the fancier choices. My Boyfriend and I went to see the Rolling Stones at this stadium. We were in some of the highest seats up possible which was still okay because it was open and I felt like I could breathe. Something that they could work on to make it easier to navigate is having a map of the stadium on the walls through out the long halls and stair cases to help you get to your seats in case you get lost. But they do have a wonderful venue and I would love to go to another concert here. I dont really like football so I dont have much to say about that subject. read more

Came here for GT's Homecoming game.Though I will always be a BAMA fan, I will root for The Ramblin' Wreck as well. We had great seats in the endzone which gave a good view for the game, and for Atlanta in general. The fans were all friendly. The prices were not too expensive. I did probably need some sunscreen that day though - I was turned from a plain old Chip into a BBQ Chip. Had a great time here, and I'm sure we'll be back to root on GT sometime this coming football season as well! read more

I love coming to see a GaTech game in the fall! I have lived in the Atlanta area since 2008 and this year will be my second time getting season passes for the Yellow Jackets. I'm by no means a "die hard" GaTech fan, but I love college football and love supporting my home team (ok haters, that's right I said it, I root for yellow and blue NOT red and black!!). The season tickets are pretty reasonably priced and it's always cool to get them for a year that GaTech plays UGA at home. You can always get single tickets to the game and chances are, if you decide at the last minute that you want to go watch, you can grab tickets the day of. The stadium doesn't have a bad seat in it -- but the stadium bench seats are SUPER close together so expect to get cozy. There's a little overpass that's above the locker room entrances so you can stand on it and watch the players run out to the field (fun to do at least once). Night games are especially fun! There are a TON of bathrooms throughout the stadium, and as long as you don't try to use one right at the start of half-time you should never have a wait. I've never attempted to drive and park -- why bother when Marta has a stop just a couple blocks away? Take Marta to the North Ave. stop and enjoy your brisk walk to the stadium. BONUS - you best plan to stop at The Varsity for a hotdog first (please see my review for this place, which includes tips for stopping here during a GaTech game day) -- and maybe even again afterward?? They do a quick purse check but you can definitely sneak some little snacks in if you're in the mood. I think my favorite game-day memory was watching a couple of girls whip out a gallon ziplock baggie filled with fried chicken to scarf down during the game...genius, really. But also go ahead and support the school by throwing a few bucks at concessions (all run by students), it's all good food and sodas come in plastic GaTech keepsakes. Walking around Georgia Tech on the last home game day, I kept asking myself the following questions: Where were all the obnoxious drunk people? Where was the smell of stale Natty Light and urine? Where were the mountains of garbage made up of discarded party platters, half tapped kegs, and smoking charcoal briquettes? It soon became clear: Toto, we're not in Athens anymore. Game day at Bobby Dodd is downright pleasant. Happy, cordial, respectful fans, clean bathrooms, decent concessions, and an intimate stadium with fabulous views of downtown and midtown helped make this an experience I could see repeating. My game day experience at Bobby Dodd made me see how people could actually bring small children to a college football game. Even the scene on fraternity row was positively tame, as I did not see a single person shotgunning a beer, and kickoff wasn't even until 12:30! It didn't hurt that the Jackets won an easy victory over Kansas. There was lots of easily accessible, reasonably priced parking, and it looked like if you got there early enough you could even snag a street spot for cheap/free. We arrived less than two hours before kick-off, and there was virtually no traffic, and we had no difficulty navigating the campus. Based on my first GT home game, this bulldawg alumna may be donning gold and white a bit more often (except on the weekend after Thanksgiving, of course!). read more

Love the stadium in the middle of the city- I had a seat with a great view of the Atlanta skyline. Not too big, so it has a more intimate feel with 1000's of your closest friends and you have great sightlines from anywhere in the stadium. The bleacher seats throughout the stadium are a little tight and uncomfortable, and the ramps that lead to the upper level is great exercise if that's what you're looking for. I won't give away my secret for parking, but as with any urban sports venue, parking can be a bit of a pain...but it's just down the street from North Ave Marta stop so public transportation is an option. Not much around in terms of food options, other than the Varsity and some pizza joints along Spring St. Tailgating and other vendors set up on the side opposite to North Ave side, if that's what you're looking for. read more

Of course I love it here! I went to Georgia Tech and this has been my second home in the fall for the past 15 years (yes, I am sure I am biased). But, with that said, I do think this is a great place to watch a football game. It is a big stadium but not so large that you can ever get really far away from the action. My seats are on the second level on the Upper East Side and they are great - from up there I get an excellent view of the entire field and can really see the plays setting up. But, I have also sat in lower seats and they are great, too. I have even sat in the upper end zone section and it really was not bad. The field itself is also very well-maintained. My favorite thing about Bobby Dodd Stadium (other than our tailgating RVs where the beer and food are) is that it is right in the city. I love seeing the Atlanta skyline when I am in the stadium, especially at night games. Night games here are just dreamy. They used to have concerts here but not for a long time. I saw Jimmy Buffett and Pink Floyd, and the Rolling Stone played here, too. That was a lot of fun but they haven't done it for quite a few years. I feel it is worth going to a game here even if you are not a Tech fan - it's right in Midtown, you can take MARTA, and it's just fun. Go Jackets! read more

The GOOD - Nice looking stadium and great sound system, The BAD: The spacing between each row is ridiculously tight. It was almost impossible for anyone to get in and out. Just seemed tighter than most stadiums. No alcohol sold inside stadium, so get your spirits in your system before you arrive. The worst is they beat our Noles! read more

I might be a little biased, being a Tech fan and all, but I still believe this is one of the best sports tickets in town. You should come out this Thursday and watch Virginia Tech lose second week in a row. Just for kicks, Big Boi from OutKast is performing at halftime! Watching football at Bobby Dodd Stadium makes me feel All The Way Turned Up ! This Stadium is one of the reasons I fell in love with football. While you're sitting in the stadium it feels like you are in this secret spot nestled deep in the city. I love staring out at the wonderful Atlanta skyline. I always look forward to night games at Bobby Dodd Stadium. The view at night is just amazing. I've been to a lot of different football stadiums over the years and nothing can compare to a night game here. When we go to the games I always have to get a little Papa John's Pizza, popcorn and a coke. Papa John's Pizza always tastes better when eaten at a football game. I love to munch down and watch a good game. I didn't go to Tech, but I always enjoy watching all the die hard fans get all wound up. It's cool to be able to tailgate right in the city. We love pulling out the grill and having a few drinks with friends on game day. read more

Bobby Dodd Stadium, home of the Georgia Tech Ramblin' Wreck! I've been to a couple of games at BD, but neither was particularly good. The first was several years ago when Mississippi State played Georgia Tech. MSU was poorly coached at the time by Sylvester Croom (a great guy, but terrible head coach). After a 70 yard run to start the game by Anthony Dixon, the drive stalled. The holder on the field goal try lined up 5 yards behind the center and...the kick was blocked. GT rolled that day. The second game I attended was between a decent GT team and a terrible Duke team. Not much to see there. My brother-in-law went to Tech and my father-in-law is also a big fan of theirs. That's a stark contrast to my mother-in-law and wife's loyalty to Georgia. The rivalry game is interesting with that group. The stadium is the oldest college football stadium in the country. It also has some very cool traditions. They have an old car that they drive around the field--The Ramblin' Wreck. They also do a little dance in the stands in the 4th quarter to the tune of an old Budweiser ad. I had a blast doing this with the fans even though my alma mater was getting creamed at that point. Bobby Dodd Stadium is rich in tradition and is a fun experience. The facility is older and it's a bit of a nightmare to locate your seat if you're a newbie. Ask for help! It's a neat place though and provides a really cool view of Atlanta. read more

I'm going to be biased as a Tech alum. I love this stadium. From my freshman year in the marching band where Tech went 1-10 and all we could do was mock our team to the current lack of any ability to beat the U(sic)GA dawgs. I still love this stadium. The bathrooms are clean and the food is quick. The best seat in the house is the front row of the upper deck. Get there - close enough to the main action to see stuff without glass and no one in front of you. Love it. Up with the white and gold. read more

A friend and I came here for the Georgia tech Vs. Miami game on November 13th and we were very impressed by this venue. The stadium holds about 50,000 people (I was told) and is very easy to reach from the North Avenue MARTA Station. There were stewards posted everywhere to help you find you seat and there were information stations set up if you had any other questions. Any time we spoke to the staff there, they were very friendly and had all of the information we needed. The men's bathrooms were also very clean, which isn't always the case at a sports stadium. Another feature that I liked were their concessions, they had concession stands located on each level so you didn't have to make this epic trek when you wanted something to eat or drink. I also bought a game program which was of very high quality in my opinion and only cost $5, which I thought was pretty surprising given the outstanding quality of the book. My friend and I are Miami fans and we sat with a bunch of Georgia Tech fans and they were all very nice people, which isn't always the case at away games also. All in all we had a great experience here. The weather was fantastic and the Georgia Tech knows how to put on a good football game. I plan to go back here to watch some more games in the future. read more

Atlanta United is playing here until their digs at Mercedes Benz are ready. I'm 100% sure the players want to stay here. It's LOUD. The crowd is on top of the field and everyone stands the whole 90 minutes. It's a blue collar atmosphere and the beers are flowing. I can't wait to go to my next game here. I don't see how a fancy new dome will top this college-esque atmosphere. read more

So as far as stadiums go this isn't the worst it, it isn't the best but it was a cool place to watch Atlanta United kick the crap out of the Colorado Rapids so not a ton of complaints here. I attended the ATL United game on May 20th. I had one BIG problem, but other than that it was great. I bought 6 tickets. The stadium map when I bought the tickets did not show that our seats would be split by stairs. So two of our friends had to sit alone on one side while the rest of us were on the other side. We made it work and switched people out during the game, but it's really aggravating. I'm not sure why this isn't shown on the map. We were in Section 112. read more

Go Jackets! It's a beautiful old stadium right in the middle of the city. The Georgia Dome might be downtown but the surrounding area can't compare to the Tech campus. Solid options for eats include Petro's chili & chips (Frito Pie!) and their orange iced tea. You can't beat the fried fruit pies from Mercier as well. read more

This stadium is terrible for Atlanta United games. First of all, the staff is lazy and unaccommodating to their guests. Secondly, forget about bringing an umbrella when it rains because in addition to confiscating them, they just throw them all away!! That is completely wasteful of materials and people's money. This establishment is terribly expensive and super unprofessional. The vendors clearly don't realize that the fans are there to get to the match and not stand in line for 45 minutes.
