I love the ambience here!! It's a local pub where everyone gathers to watch the game. People are nice albeit a little slow most likely due to the labor shortage. They could improve on the menu. The first time I was there I had the salmon special that was probably the best restaurant salmon I've ever had and that's why we went back. However, it wasn't the special last night. I ordered the BBQ Chicken Cob but, asked that the chicken be swapped for tritips instead. I've never had a cob salad the included a half of a cup of onions and croutons. The steak was good. Bobby Byrne's wasn't my first choice and idk if I'll return. The service was good - no complains about that. Our server was sweet and helpful when something was forgotten in our order. Unfortunately, the food wasn't all that great and gave me a stomach ache after. Bobby has been around the cape for many moons. He's a wonderful guy and we're lucky to have him in the community. I hadn't been here in ages. I've heard that the Mashpee location his nicer in decor. I went with a simple burger and fries. The burger was cooked perfectly and our waitress was a sweetheart. Nobody will confuse BBs for a Michelin star but good chow and nice folks. read more

The food here is definitely four stars but the atmosphere at this location is a little lacking. It's very pub like and super dark inside. This might be cool in the winter but during the summer it's kind of a downer. The location in Mashpee Commons is so much nicer and it has outdoor seating that is much more Cape Cod summer and less depressing British pub. Lots of sad looking older people playing Keno and drinking. Still, there are a variety of beers available and delicious food. The fries are awesome and I really enjoyed the Cape Cod Ruben which is a Ruben with fried cod instead of roast beef. Super yum. Great place for an excellent, satisfying meal at a good price but I wouldn't come here for the atmosphere. read more

Chef Bobby, a true wizard, cooked us up some grade A chicken and mac n cheese. The chicken was juicy and tender as John Travolta in Grease, and the mac n cheese was thick and cheesy like thick cheese. This place was ok. We needed a place to eat and it was getting late. Not much is open in Hyannis, MA in late March but this was one of the options near our hotel. It's a bit divey and they have keno tickets for you to play at your table if you want. We ordered the crispy Idaho potato skins, lobster stuffed baked mushrooms, steak tips and shrimp, and chicken fingers. The crispy Idaho potato skins were not crispy like the name implied. It was a little soggy and was probably sitting for a while. If there were any lobster pieces in the lobster stuffed baked mushrooms, we did not detect it. The mushrooms were good but we removed the stuffing. The texture was too mushy. The steak tips and chicken fingers were standard. It wasn't terrible but nothing amazing either. if there were other options, I'd probably go elsewhere. read more

We happened to see this pub as we were walking by to Main Street and decided to check it out. It's located in a little strip mall on the corner of a busy intersection with big signs up above the door. We were attracted by the name, as Bobby Burns is a Scottish legend. Yes, this pub/Restaurant is similar to what you would find in the UK albeit much larger. It's a pub with food. Don't expect Michelin Star here. It's average pub food and it's fine. The place was super busy, actually packed, with people sitting up at the bar playing Keno and also families sitting in booths around the bar. The atmosphere is lively and loud. What you would expect from a busy bar. We didn't have any food, we just drank and observed. It was fun and o felt that many of the customers were locals and it was a nice change not to be in the midst of a ton of tourists, even though we were tourists ourselves. The bar staff were busy but pleasant and very efficient. I would recommend if you want a drink with bar food in a low key local sort of way. read more

Bobby Byrne's is fantastic! Great tasting food cooked to perfection. We got the calamari and BBQ wings for apps, both were great. I got the steak tips which were phoenomenal, great marinate, grilled perfectly, and food proportions were very generous, came with seasonal vegetables which were crisp and not soggy; desert was coffee and strawberry shortcake. Coffee was freshly brewed and strawberry's fresh with huge proportions. My dinner mates got the tips as well and all were very satisfied, one got the prime rib special, 12oz, he said it was great. This is a nice pub tucked away in a shopping center in Hyannis. It is an English themed traditional pub. Keno is available. The menu is a good size, not too much and not too little. There is fried seafood, burgers, typical pub food. Our waitress was quiet but nice. She brought our drinks right away and took our order. I ordered off the appetizer menu. I got the half order of chicken wings and the mussels. The mussels came with a tasty broth and bread to dip into it. I ordered the wings plain. They came out hot and crunchy. This is one of our "go to" places on the Cape. Kind of a mix between a tavern and a family restaurant. Menu is not overwhelming, and has basic, but good, meals for everyone. Lots of variations of salads, burgers, local meals like fish & chips, fried clams, chicken pie, lots of sandwich, seafood, etc. Good beer and wine selection and very reasonably priced. I've had many things here and I'm not sure what my favorite pic would be - maybe the lobster Mac & Cheese. But also I love their stuffed chicken breast. It's all good! read more

I know from past experiences that this place has good food...but poor service. Waited 15-20 mins for a table. Then patiently waited 30 minutes at the table for service. Informed hostess that no one had served us and she said she would send someone over. Proceeded to wait another 10 minutes and nothing. There's something soothing about finding a dive bar when you're an out-of-towner on vacation. Bobby Byrnes can easily fill this void when you're looking for something outside the plethora of tourist traps on the Cape. My wife and I came here for a few night-cappers after a crappy dining experience on Main St in Hyannis and it saved the night! We threw back a few local pops, watched the Sahx, mingled with the locals, and even lost a bunch of money playing trashy Keno! It just doesn't get any better than that, folks. I went here three times this week while staying in Hyannis, and was pleasantly surprised every time. The first night I tried, to the skepticism of my partner, lobster macaroni and cheese. We were both hooked. We also tried the Surf 'n Turf, and the scallops were cooked perfectly. We returned for the Tuesday night special, which consists of soup or salad, an entree, and dessert for $9.95. I ordered the seafood pie and it was the best I've ever had. Service was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be returning. Also order a Dark n' Stormy, which seems to be a pretty common Cape Cod drink...the bartender was very generous with the Gosling's! read more

I grew up in Newton, MA which is only about 1 1/2 hour drive from the Hyannis area. For me, I never really thought much of the cape. Always seemed so boring...hahahha and long traffic line. Anyway, quite on whim we drove down to watch a comedy show at the Hyannis tent (Gabriel Iglesias to be exact), he was hilarious. Got out around 10:00pm and was desperated trying to find a decent place to satisfy our tummy rumbles. We checked out a few places that seemed to be open, but realized the kitchens close around 10-1030. As we were finally about to give up, my friend sees a Dominos and asks me if I want to just stop there. But there I spot Bobby Byrnes in the same plaza and remembered it from my yelp searches. -- UGH, anything was better than Dominos...LOL Walked in with 2 mins to spare before the kitchen closed! Whoo! I ordered the healthy baked scrod that served with spinach and farro. My friend ordered their chicken pot pie ( we were craving it b/c of centerville pie, but they close early). All I have to say is...DAMN! Why didn't anyone tell me about the fresh and amazing food in the cape sooner!?!?!? The scrod was fresh, flaky and tangy...makes legal seafood's scrod look like your recycled compost in the backyard...UGH The pot pie was amazing!!! perfectly seasoned, big chunks of tender chicken with a biscuit in the middle and mashed potato crust on top. I seriously would have ordered one to go if the kitchen wasn't already close. I'm going to try to make more excuses to drive down the cape!! My husband and I stopped in here for lunch the other day after a long drive from Connecticut. We were mainly looking for a place to have lunch that had Cape Cod Beer on tap and after browsing the menu for Bobby Byrne's on my phone, we decided to stop in. This location is easy to find (right behind the Cape Cod Mall). It's located within a small strip mall but the inside has a cozy Irish pub feel. We sat at a booth in the bar area, surrounded by locals on their lunch breaks. Our waitress came right by to take our drink orders and we of course ordered a Cape Cod Red. For lunch, we ordered a starter bowl of the clam chowder, which was very creamy, but lacked clams and potatoes. I imagine it could have just been the bowl we received. Either way, our meals were fantastic. My husband ordered the beef stew, which had large pieces of veggies and meat and a perfect broth. I ordered the turkey caprese sandwich which included turkey breast, pesto spread, fresh mozzarella, and tomatoes on a french bread roll. The side pasta salad was a nice change from the typically french fries. This place is a good go-to restaurant considering they have a few different locations and lots of choices on the menu. A nice stop for dinner while vacationing on the Cape. The portion sizes are just right. The fish and chips were very nice - hot and crispy on the outside, white and tender on the inside. My wife got chicken fajitas which were also very good. My only critique here is that the fajitas weren't sizzling hot when they came out, but that's just my preference. Also, the serving size was pretty big which was nice but they only give you three wraps and charge $1.25 for extra. The service was excellent and the drinks were really good. I recommend the Hurricane Bobby if you like tropical rum drinks. The prices are reasonable too. read more

This place is conveniently located across the street from the mall. My friend and I had 45 min to get to a movie and we let the bartender know we were in a rush. He immediately poured our beers and brought the food out of the kitchen in less than 10 min. So easy. read more

Stopped in last night and had the green salad with sirloin tips and shrimp. Yummy! Lots of mesclun greens, romaine, cukes, cherry tomatoes, croutons and red onion slices. I like that they slice the onion and put it to the side for those of us who don't care for raw onion. Served with balsamic & blue cheese dressing - simply fabulous. This food was soo good that I ate too much. This place is an absolute must visit if your on the Cape for vacation, work, etc. The clam chowder was amazing so if your a chowder fan its a must have. I got the Texas Burger which was melt in your mouth deliciousness. The fries were not too crispy. My friend got the the 10oz. Sirloin steak, and found himself salivating with delight. Prices seemed like a lot, until the food actually comes out and you understand why. The waitresses are also hot too, so that's obviously a plus. All in all it was a wonderful time. read more

I really did not have a good experience here at all tonight. Starting off, i'd like to just say that they got 26 people in for a reservation on very short notice. They we're very helpful while making the reservation, but that's about where the good stuff ends. We get in there, and there's only 18 seats. No big deal we think, and we grab another table from near by. They tell us that they can't take it, and that there's nothing they can really do. 8 girls we're left mortified, standing there for 10 minutes waiting for another table. When we finally get into the table, we are met by a very friendly waitress. There's four of us at the table, and we all give her our drink orders. It's another 30 minutes until we see her again. Once she finally comes back, she asks what we wants to eat. We order a appetizer of nachos, a hot dog, chicken and waffles, and a grilled cheese, and a side ceaser salad. A pretty simple order. Knowing that we are with a large group, I knew that it might take some time getting everyone their food. Maybe 25-45 minutes. It took 50 just for the appetizer. Nachos-Over filled and hard. Looks like they have been sitting under a heat lamp. Tastes gross, like soap. The tomatoes tasted fresh, though, so plus for that. About 30 minutes after that, the entrees came out. Here's what every person had to say about their meals. Hot dog- Under welming, boiled hot dog. Very mediocre for the price. Grilled cheese-your average, normal grilled cheese. fries were good though Chicken and waffles- Burnt waffles, and the chickens breading still had in mixed flour left on the bottom in each tender. Okay taste, okay size for price. Ceaser salad- Pretty good, great dressing. Overall, I wasn't impressed. It was a random winter day turning a hockey tournament weekend, so I wasn't expecting much, but this little? Woo Wee. All I can say is that i'm not going back anytime soon. read more
