If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Also, this review is for Bobbi & Guy as a company. I sent them an email on their website almost 1 year ago, but I have NEVER gotten a response...The email stated the following:
On Friday, May 22, 2015, I went to Bobbi and Guy located in Kapolei, HI. I had a 3:15 pm appointment with Mary. I went in to color match my hair with the extensions I bought because I was going to be in a wedding.
I brought in my hair extensions and showed it to the Mary (hair stylist). She compared it to a hair sample in the book which looked as if it matched - the color was part of the mahogany bunch.
After she dyed my hair, washed it and blow dried it, my hair was red like a bright auburn color. The extension did not match. She then decided to dye my hair a dark blonde color to try to get the red color to "lift" so that my hair matches my extensions. During this time she started to say how she should have turned down this request, that it is hard to color match extensions. I started to fell uncomfortable and to top it off my head was burning.
After the second dye, wash and blow dry, my hair was still red. Mary was getting more frustrated because it was almost 6:30 pm and she had another appointment. She then stated that she has to try to color my hair again, but this time with a higher volume developer (she said she used 10 the second time and this time she will use 30).
I was desperate to have my hair the right color because I already spent $160.00 on clip in hair extensions, so I let her dye my hair once more.
During the third dye session my head was burning, badly. I told the hair stylist - Mary, and she stated that I need to put on my big girl pant and deal with the pain because she is trying to match the extension. During this time I walked around the shop and outside the shop just so I can deal with the burning pain.
After the third dye, wash and blow dry, my hair was still red. Mary stated that there is noting more she can do because she ran out of options. so she charged me $40 instead of $90. She also charged me $60 for a hair cut in which she did not even style my hair. All she did was blow dry it to a dry state. I ended up paying $106.00 and I tipped her $20.00 because she made me feel bad because she spent 4 hours on me alone.
After I went home I was relaxing and i decided to run my hands through my hair. I felt lumps all over my head! I asked my sister to check my head and she told me there was dry blood all through my head like my head, she said it looked like bad blisters. I was pissed.
The wedding was the next day and I explained my head situation to the hair stylist doing my updo because my head was very sensitive. While she was styling my hair she stated that I need to reach out to the salon and let them know what happened because there was excessive scabbing all over my head.
I have been very busy since the wedding so I haven't been able to call Bobbi and Guy. Mary did leave a voicemail on my phone, but I do not feel comfortable talking to her. It is now the 28th and i still have scabs on my head. I want to let you know that my hair had not been dyed until Mary did it. My hair is now very damaged and coarse. I would like to know what Bobbi and Guy does in these situations. This experience was a nightmare. read more
