I wanted a Hong Kong style egg tart for lunar New Years without going to Chinatown in Philly. And I'm on the island - so I don't get off the island and to the mainland unless it's something special and this is about 5-10m from the longport bridge. I'm in Margate and it was only a 12m drive door to door BUT they use Ubereats to the island!!!! It's totally worth checking them out in person bc they are nestled inside The Exchange (which is a cute but small food hall) with about 6 other vendors. Things to Note: 1) Lots of fun boba tea options, except I don't like boba tea 2) legit egg tarts!!! 3) I'm a fan of their Taiwanese pineapple buns 4) green tea matcha cakes 5) macaroons and lots of other Asian style bakery items 5! They will also make you a speciality cake if you email, insta them, etc. The prices for the items are slightly higher than going to the City but saves you a 1 plus hour trip to satisfy my American Asian cravings. Also - this isn't a typical Chinese bakery, so don't assume you are going to have all the bun and sticky rice choices but a modern American Asian take. As someone that drinks a lot of boba and enjoys sweets on occasion, I would give this place 3 stars. There are not a lot of options for boba in Ocean City, so I really hope that this place does well (it's got a great location being only a few streets from the boardwalk). We went right before memorial day weekend, so it wasn't too busy. It has a clean and simple layout (I really like the open kitchen, so you can see the drinks being prepared). I ordered the Sakura Rose Special Fruity Tea (it was $9.60 for a large, which is on the higher side for boba). I appreciated the simple and clean ingredients. Overall, the taste was decent (a little too sweet for me). I also ordered chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies, and an egg tart. Pricing was pretty standard for these compared to a bakery. Similar to the boba, I appreciated the simple and clean ingredients. Unfortunately, there was very little flavor for the cookies (for the chocolate chip: it was more like a cake than a traditional cookie), so that was a bit disappointing. I also wish the cookie size was a bit bigger. The egg tart was pretty decent for a bakery (if you're expecting Chinatown quality, just be prepared that it's different). Again, I'm hoping that this place does well and becomes a staple in Ocean City. Even with the mixed experience with the boba and desserts, I will give this place another chance when I'm in Ocean City again. read more

Ordered the Matcha Red Bean Cake for my dad's birthday - and for a picky sweets eater - he absolutely loved it! Not too sweet, perfect amount of red bean flavor in the middle. The matcha cake itself may have been over shadowed by the red bean but that MATCHA CREAM ON THE OUTSIDE WAS AMAZING. Give me a cup full of that matcha cream and I'd be good to go. While there, we also tried the asian pudding (a must try - so so good). It tasted like a semi sweet decadent flan. The vanilla cream puff was big, flaky, and creamy but lacked a bit of flavor. I think maybe the matcha might be a better try! Lastly, the Vegan Oreo Chocolate Mousse was more like a pudding rather than a Mousse. Although a great option to have for vegans, unfortunately, was not too impressed. I mean I would have tried all of the desserts really - they all looked amazing. But overall not a bad experience what so ever. Unfortunately, the location of the bakery is the biggest downfall. For being a small business, I hope they find a new location one day. It was sketchy and weird, and honestly, if I did not assume that the couple in front of me was looking for the same place, I probably would have been circling the area. After discovering this place for only three days, I've ordered from here twice already. The concept is pretty different, it's strictly just take out or delivery and does not accept cash as they share a counter and kitchen with other restaurants. The desserts here are amazing, pricey but totally worth it. Highly recommend the matcha tiramisu and Asian flan. It's so good! Egg tart is delicious also, traditional egg tart that you would get from a Chinese bakery but slightly bigger in size, thus probably why it cost a little more. I recommend the milk tea over the smoothie though, got the avocado smoothie and it didn't taste very good, had a bitter after taste. The oolong milk tea was very good. The flavors were definitely there, and it happened to be one of my favorite combinations. The fresh fruits on top were also a nice touch. Pictured is their Uber cookie (made from Ube, a purple type of potatoes that originates in the Philippines). This cookie is much different from your traditional cookie, as it's not as sweet. Everything we got was great! I have no complaints at all! We got the Sakura Rose Tea, the Passion Paradise, and the Brown Sugar Milk Tea they were excellent. Then the 1/2 and 1/2 Cheese Dog was out of this world. We also got the Panko Cheese Dog which was really good. Then topped it off with the Pineapple Cakes which were outstanding. It is such an amazing cheesecake! It's so different from the typical dense cheesecake. The reason true is so light and fluffy that it just melts in your mouth. What a great place! My brother and I are huge fans of boba but living in Cape May there isn't much of a selection. We were so happy to have discovered Boba Works (and not to mention all the other great restaurants in the food court) in Somers Point. It's totally worth the ~40ish minute drive. I love that they have oat milk, as well as many other diet-friendly options. That's really important to me and one of the reasons I come so often. The customer service is great, the workers are always so friendly & helpful from explaining the menu or just giving a compliment & generating conversation. Also, the drinks are perfect, have never had a bad one here & don't think I ever will. I recommend the lavender Earl milk tea, matcha latte, & of course the brown sugar milk tea. Finally, I feel like I have to speak to the desserts, wow! I tried the matcha tiramisu and loved it. Such a great idea. I love the selection of fresh baked goods and am always excited to see what they have. I work in a bakery myself & I am so impressed by the mix of authentic & creativity here. The bao is so light, creamy and delicious! I wish got more than one piece! Egg tart is lightly sweet and quite large! Flan is very sweet! It came in a small round tin as opposed to the jar on the site, which doesn't matter to me because it's quite big. Mochi brownie has a very interesting texture.
