Customer service isn't good at all. The two young girls behind the counter were more worried about joking with the young kids than actually acknowledging paying customers. I figured my money wasn't good enough for an ice cream shop on the boardwalk, so I started walking out, the two girls behind the counter couldn't care less. I'm big on customer service and sorry but that generation has NO customer service. I know it's a crappy low paying job, but have some pride in what you do and at least acknowledge the customers that come in that are paying your wages. Wooo! I needed an after lunch treat and decided to go for some aloha self serve. I decided to do the pineapple and strawberry twist. The pineapple was tart and sweet and the strawberry was sweet and creamy. Def..preferred the strawberry side than the pineapple. Overall it was very sweet so I didn't end up finishing all of it. The customer service is always friendly, quick to offer samples. We took ours to go tonight and the lids, spoons, and carrying tray were incredibly helpful. I went to the boardwalk with family and we kept walking down because I like how the tourists don't really go down that far, unlike the other side of the boardwalk near castaway cove and Gillian's this is far down off the beaten path I would think. Anyway, when I saw it my jaw hit the floor. I don't eat dairy, so I was all In. They had pineapple and strawberry soft serve. I was sold. My first vibe from the kid at the register was off setting. I felt like he was annoyed we had so many people in our family or something ... but there was a long line. And maybe that's just his personality and I read him wrong. My daughter got a sundae and the boy at the register was also making the sundaes, and another girl was making our dole whip on cones. The sundae was a build your own, and you tell them which toppings you want and you get 3 toppings. My daughter got marshmallow, nerds and something else. There were SO many toppings it was insane. I had to scoop them off because my daughter hated it. And this is where the boy at the register who made the sundae cracked a joke about bedtime. I instantly was like oh, okay he's fun. Gotcha. Must just be late and he's tired, probably wants to go home. I don't blame him! My other daughter got a cookie dough milk shake, she said it was delicious and she sucked up the whole thing. My son got vanilla soft serve. It was delicious (I'm assuming because he ate the whole thing!) we will definitely be coming back! It's good to know this place it is here! Oh and I forgot to mention our waffle cones starts to leak out the bottom early on. I don't know how great the cones are. They taste good for sure! But they are super messy. This is my favorite ice cream place on the whole boardwalk. I am lactose intolerant and absolutely love ice cream and this place is the best because the dole ice cream doesn't have any dairy in it. It is almost like a sherbet but with soft serve ice cream texture. On a hot day when you're walking on the boardwalk it's a must. The two flavors they had when I was there were strawberry and pineapple which is the most refreshing flavors to be twisted together. This place brings me so much joy I almost go every single night. They have a punch card too (I love punch cards). The first punch gets you nothing, the second punch gets you a free topping, and the third punch get you 50% off then you can get a new punch card! It was also over 5$ so don't waste your money, it really was a disappointment. Explains why the place was empty. The staff wasn't very friendly. The adult lady was nice and made a few suggestions at first but the child who made my milkshake was more involved in sharing whatever internal gossip he had with the girl coming on shift than to focus on what he was supposed to be doing. If you pass by when they are giving out samples, you can usually get a free topping coupon. The chocolate chips are delicious on any flavor of dole whip. I have never had dole whip before, but it is the most delicious treat on a hot summer day. Just saw a new addition to the Ocean City Boardwalk this past weekend and the family gave it a try. Aloha Soft serve featured Dole Whip, which the kids loved in Disney World.
