ATTENTION FIRST TIME BUYERS…read more Joe Burke saves the day! And the condo closing! I was a first time condo buyer and a week away from closing with another mortgage company when stuff hit the fan. I will not go into details of what happened with the other company (see my yelp reviews for that) . I found Joe from Guaranteed Rate on yelp.com and called him in a panic. From the moment we talked, he was cool, calm and collected and assured me that he could help me close within 3 weeks!!!! I did my homework and reached out to other companies, making sure I get the best value, and Joe was able to out do every offer I had. What I liked the most was how straightforward he was with me. Buying your first condo is a big deal, and securing a mortgage can be stressful, even if you have good credit. Joe outlined everything in a spreadsheet (i love spreadsheets!) and answered every little question I had. And I had a lot. I should point out he did all this the week before Christmas and was able to have me close on January 3rd!

It doesn't matter what, when, and why, but they are there for us no matter what to answer all the questions we have, even when we throw curve balls their way. Josh is such a joy of a human, I truly believe that if we called and asked for help with a flat tire that he would come. I'm excited to update after closing, but I really had to say something now because of the efforts the team has done for us.

About two months ago my spouse and I were deciding whether we would buy a place or continue to…read morerent, so my sister who had worked with Perl Mortgage in the past and had a good experience, recommended that I reach out to this company. After doing some research, I came across Pam Harambasic's name on the internet and decided to reach out to her to ask some questions and to find out whether we (as potential first time buyers) would qualify for a loan. Since we had not gone through this process before, my spouse and I were unsure of what to ask or even how to get started. When we initially spoke to Pam over the phone the first things that stood out was that she was very personable and knowledgeable, which put us at ease and help to guide us towards our decision to buy rather than continue to rent. Pam met with us for coffee in our neighborhood and walked us through the details of the process for home buying. What my spouse and I enjoyed, was that she not only dealt with the business of applying for a home loan, but she also took the time to get to know us and to allow us to know a little bit about her, which helped build trust and made us confident that we had partnered with the right person to take us through this process. My spouse and I found a place that we wanted to buy two days after our face to face meeting with Pam. Throughout the entire process in applying for a home loan, Pam kept us informed, answered all of our questions, was incredibility responsive, transparent, professional and reassuring. The whole time along, we felt lucky to be working with someone who helped ensure that the process for us was smooth and relatively stress free. We are now in our new home and absolutely love it! We really appreciate Pam and happily recommend her to others. Should we need her services in the future, we would not hesitate to reach out to her. We could not have asked for a better experience or more outstanding Mortgage Advisor.

Wintrust has a lot of good reviews for personal homes but I would concern yourself as a business…read morebefore you approach this company. All over their website they stress how the owner started from nothing and his goal was to take care of people and small business. I am a small business and due to my landlords deceitful practices they are trying to lock me into a lease for another four years and want me to pay over $30,000 to get out of it. Due to the circumstances at my location I am worried about parking and other details that could make me life almost impossible with a different land owner. My landlord got foreclosed on. He did not inform me of his situation prior to me resigning a lease on the property I rent. He had not been paying the property taxes for a couple of years and was failing on the mortgage as well. Landlord kept pushing me to sign a new lease and finally I did. One week later a for sale sign is up front of the business. I have been trying to talk with Wintrust for a couple of months now. They dont return phone calls, the times I have spoken with somebody they have been rude, disrespectful and have talked down to me like I am below them and out right have been unhelpful. I fully understand a lease was signed with my ex-landlord but it was under deceitful circumstances and as I try to make my case to them I get ignored. From My evaluation of dealing with this company I would say when it comes to a business I would pass. I have asked for a face to face conference to negotiate terms and have gotten ignored. I am even willing to find them a new tenant.... Nope they want a small business man to come up with $30,000 to get out of the lease. Does not sound like a "HOME TOWN COMPANY" looking out for small business like their website says... Looks like they are like almost every other company out there now a days. We have something in writing so lets stick it to this guy. In writing is understandable.. Violation of a contract is different and If I have to fight I will.. Thank you Wintrust for adding another problem to my everyday life!

The appraisal with another lender came in significantly below purchase price 14 days before closing. I called up Drew to see what he could do to help. He happily took on the challenge of not only expediting the loan process, but also got an appraiser out quickly who appraised the property AT PURCHASE PRICE! Incredible news for my buyers! But it doesn't stop there...my buyers initially went under contract with another lender right before the rates increased in May. Drew went one step further and discounted the buyer's rate to get them back to their initial interest rate (without anyone asking him to). I have done several transactions with Drew and his team and they have all been fantastic, but this is one example of how they will go above and beyond for their clients and their Realtor partners. Kudos team!!
