A friend invited me to come play group tennis with her because she has been loving coaching with Coach Aziz since April 2024. GROUP TENNIS DRILLS: The way the class works is that the coach will tell the group what to do. He will start off by feeling the ball to one person (long or short ball) then the group plays doubles. I had so much fun playing tennis with Coach Aziz. I arrived about 10 mins late but I was still able to jump in and play. There were 5 of us ladies on the court so only 4 are playing at a time. But, since we played drills, the 5th person just rotates onto the court every few minutes. It was a very fast paced class which I loved. We all moved the whole 1.5 hours while Coach Aziz gave us tips/lessons. He is super funny and makes the session so fun. Playing a sport recreationally should be fun and not stressful. My tennis racked grip is super old so I bought a tennis grip tape the day before from Target. Once I got to the court, Coach Aziz made a funny joke about how old my racket was because it isn't even designed anymore (LOL) so I was given a newer racket to use. I did not use mine...haha. Individual tennis lessons are also available and you can pick which Coach you want to work with (see my attached photos to this review to view the coaches). While my friend generously paid for me, I think that a group lesson is $25 for an hour. The lesson I attended was an hour and a half though which still cost around $25. If you forget your tennis racket, you can lend one for free (at least, I never paid for the one that I borrowed). I have coached golf for over a decade, and I can tell you with absolute certainty: Club Champion in Westlake is a predatory retail operation masquerading as a performance studio. Here is the "Club Champion Scam" playbook they tried on me: The "Free" Bait: They lure you in with a "free fitting" promotion, but the moment you sit down, the goal is to "upcharge" you into a build that costs more than double the retail price of a stock club. Extortionate Markups: They quoted me prices that were 100% higher than the manufacturer's stock price. They achieve this by charging you full MSRP for the clubhead and then charging you FULL price for an "aftermarket" shaft that provides zero statistically significant improvement for 95% of golfers. No Supporting Data: As a coach, I asked for the Trackman data to justify why a $400 shaft upgrade was necessary over the high-quality stock options available from Titleist, Ping, or TaylorMade. They couldn't provide it. They rely on "feel" and sales jargon to push "boutique" shafts that carry massive commissions for the fitter. The "Used Car" Experience: The vibe in this place is identical to a shady car lot. They aren't trying to lower your handicap; they are trying to hit a monthly sales quota. They will "SST Pure" your shafts (another pseudo-science upsell) and add fees until a $500 driver becomes a $1,100 nightmare. My Professional Advice: If you want a real fitting, go to a local PGA pro or a reputable local shop that doesn't have a vested interest in selling you a $1,200 driver. Club Champion doesn't build better clubs; they just build bigger invoices. I've seen a lot of gimmicks in my 10+ years of coaching, but this is the most transparent scam in the industry. Save your money and stay far away from this Westlake location.

It was Extremely burnt out when I played two weeks ago. The greens are very slow for the rate. The bunkers have very little to no sand but overall a very challenging and unique course. It could be something special but is far from it currently. The food / restaurant was awesome except the bathrooms are under construction and very dirty. Everyone in the group agreed on the food, especially the brisket sandwich. For 240 bucks a foursome, I feel ripped off and duped by their adds. I commented online only to have my reviews deleted and then was blocked after posting not only negative but some positive feedback. Including comments on wanting to try it out again but in early spring or Fall. They must not want repeat business. No wonder it keeps shifting hands / ownership. I doubt it stays around for too long. 5 + hour round and honestly it wasn't very busy for a Saturday afternoon.
