Matthew Chapman - Windermere Real Estate

We wanted to buy a bigger home as we grew our family, and Matthew took the time to really understand our goals and what was important to us. We felt supported and informed throughout the entire process and trusted Matthew to keep our priorities in mind. Matthew was patient and always in our corner throughout the search until we finally found the right home. He also went above and beyond after we moved in. When we ran into a few issues with the house, including a toilet leak and a roof vent leak, he promptly recommended reliable vendors to help us get them addressed. Overall, we had a great experience working with Matthew and highly recommend him for any real estate needs.

We would strongly recommend Matt to our friends and family in the area…read more We met with several realtors before choosing to work with Matthew to sell our home in Bellevue, WA. Matt wasn't the lowest rate, the highest sale volume, nor did he cite a substantially higher sale price. But his recommendations on prep/staging/marketing; his full-service, detailed, and organized approach; and our ability to speak honestly about expectations really stood out. We also appreciated that he recommended ways to highlight the unique touches in the home, rather than (literally) whitewashing everything as some other realtors advised. His approach magnified the things we loved about the home and the care we put into maintaining and improving it. We were out-of-state during the majority of the sale, and relied on Matt and his team very heavily for sale preparation. He made proposals, got quotes, and oversaw work. Matt was upfront about whether he thought each suggested improvement would pay for itself, and actively advised against changes other realtors had suggested that he didn't think were worth it. He was always clear that it was our decision and also happily accommodated us doing some of the work ourselves. Because of his and his team's diligence we were able to hit our target list date, with a house that was shown in its best light. The local market had become more uncertain: markets were softening and a similar house down the street was sitting on the market after weeks, despite a price drop. We adjusted our intended list price (still within his initial range) and our expectations, but Matt remained confident in the home and how it would show. We got an under-asking offer early, and Matt went into overdrive to solicit additional offers. Ultimately we got a very attractive at-list-price offer, the house went pending within a week of listing, and we had a very smooth closing experience. There's always luck involved, but we expect that with most other realtors it would have more work for us to get the house on the market and the sale price would have been lower.

We began working with Rene over 6 years ago, well before we were ready to sell our QA home…read more Although she had no committment from us, over the years she consistently was responsive to our questions, giving advice, recommending vendors and repair services as we prepared our house for listing. During the selling process she recognized our needs and desires, and we felt confident that we were well represented. When our house sold we had not found "the" place to move to, and over the next four months Rene was consistently patient, kind, professional and diligent about watching for new listings. She spent many many hours evaluating and showing us possibles, but continued to advise "don't settle". When we walked into our new home, we knew immediately that this was it. During the negotiations and closing process, Rene was a tenacious advocate, making sure every detail was correct, and done in a timely manner. We felt very blessed to have her managing all the details for us. Rene has become a friend, and is an agent we would recommend to anyone. Rosemary and Dave

It's not that Rene's communication with us was bad, it was minimal. A few emails in 6 months. We were just strangely not in sync. It appears she wrote us off as problematic clients early in the relationship. After 6 months no sale, what a surprise. The coup de grace, Rene can't locate the 2 sets of keys and garage door opener to return to us. There's a lot of good realtors out there, I can't recommend Rene.

Colleen is the absolute best! My fiance and I just closed on our first place and we could not have…read moredone it without Colleen's help! This was our first time buying and we had no idea what we were doing, and we had a pretty limited budget. I feel like as clients, we were not appealing, but Colleen was happy to work with us and was so warm and understanding from the very beginning. I first got in touch with her in January of 2018 and thought we would start looking closely after, because of some extenuating circumstances, we didn't actually pick things up for over a year. When I contacted Colleen again in March of 2019, she was just as happy to help me as when we first met and took my request to work with her seriously. I feel like a lot of agents could have judged me for that lapse in time, but Colleen never did. She listened, really listened to what I wanted, never got annoyed or judgmental about my preferences, and she was so willing to tour properties with me and give me feedback about each place. We did not know at all what to look for in home and Colleen really helped me when touring properties to understand what was a good idea and what wasn't. In the end we are moving into a condo that meets the expectations we had when we started looking, and I didn't think that would have been possible in Seattle. On occasion she wasn't available to tour something with me, but she would send her assistant, who was fantastic. I never felt like I was hanging and she was so easy to get in touch with. She met me on my schedule wherever I needed. She walked us through literally everything and helped me put together a fair, but competitive offer. Our very first offer was accepted and I know it was because Colleen gave me great advice. She was so helpful in putting together a counter offer after the inspection and she helped me negotiate quite a bit towards closing costs. What also makes Colleen so great is that she works with knowledgeable, reliable contacts for everything from the home inspection to general contract work. She's 100% reliable and competent, which is so hard to find. She was really there for us and so easy to work with. Everyone told me buying a home in Seattle would be a competitive and terrible experience, but it really wasn't and so much of that was thanks to Colleen. I would recommend her to anyone looking to buy or sell their home and if my fiance and I ever sell our place, or buy something else, we will definitely use Colleen.
