It had been years since we have been to this chain to eat, no real reason, just not on our normal list, but, we stopped in for lunch. It was really good and priced really fair! We each ordered a pick two which was a 1/2 salad and 1/2 sandwich served with banana bread. Both of us really enjoyed our choices. We also enjoyed the banana bread so much we bought a loaf to bring home and enjoyed it tonight with our dinner too. If you have been away a while, give them a try again! What a great location. I like the set up of this place. It's very welcoming. April was our wonderful server. My hubby and I stopped here for a quick bite. We both chose from the pick 2 menu. We were very pleased. Hubby got 1/2 Turkey sandwich and 1/2 cup of chicken soup. I got the 1/2 Farmers house salad and 1/2 cup of Cheddar bacon potato soup. Our food was very delicious. Not sure why I forget about Bob Evans for breakfast. It's the basics, homemade biscuits and it feels like you are eating with family. I people watch whenever I go out. The table next to us was a man and his mother and father. They said grace before their meal and I looked around at the families laughing and talking and realized this is what breakfast should be. Homemade food , people sharing a meal , conversation and most importantly time together. I had homemade potato soup and half a cranberry chicken salad. You can do half a salad or sandwich with soup at a great price. My husband had a sausage omelette. We also had the blue ribbon bacon which is bacon with syrup and crushed pepper.Service was fast and friendly, baked goods to go at the register if you are interested. If you want a taste of Americana, the feel of family and what breakfast should be, this is it. No scanning bar codes for a menu, no fancy mocha drinks with 4 thousand calories, just breakfast as you remember it as a kid. And sometimes that is pretty perfect. read more

The restaurant was dirty, and service was worse. I should have known, just leave. But we were hungry. We waited 20 minutes to get our food and the pancakes were disgusting. They didn't charge for one meal. But both meals were bad. I will never go there to eat again. They need to clean up the restaurant and hire better chefs and waitresses. Since living in northern Virginia I've always heard good things about this place. I've always heard that they had done of the best breakfast and I must say, I agree! I was was really happy and surprised when I seen that this place was in Florida I had to try it out for my self. First, impression was, I like the atmosphere! It felt like Denny's but next level, the food was so good as you can se in the pictures. The Cinn bun things were sooooo gooood!!! I'm super glad that I tried them. I wouldn't mind coming back, I paid $26 for two people. I'm one person who isn't a huge fan of breakfast so when I am in a mood for it than I like to choose my places wisely because I know for a fact that I won't be disappointed. Great for breakfast. This place was crazy busy even at 10 am. Love their fresh biscuits! Chose their mini sampler with one egg, well done bacon and home fries. Started venturing out and doing indoor dining recently and Bob Evans was a place we frequented pre Covid so I was happy and excited to return. Arrived, waited a couple of minutes to be seated. When the nice young woman originally brought us to a table I asked if we could sit at a booth or along the windows. She replied don't know if there's any clean tables. She walked us all the way to the last table outside the restrooms walking by row after row after row of tables that weren't clean. It was rather disconcerting because there was only one other occupied table on that entire side of the restaurant so it wasn't due to being crowded that they weren't cleaned. I guess they were waiting on a bus boy to arrive to work because he arrived around 30 minutes later and cleaned the tables. Don't understand why they didn't just clean the tables one at a time between orders rather than letting 8 or 9 tables just sit there uncleared. Ordered food. We both ordered our breakfast potatoes deep fried and extra crispy. I order bacon and said I'd like the bacon kinda crispy, not chip a tooth crispy though. The waitress assured us the potatoes are deep fried and they would definitely be nice and crispy. I guess something got lost in the translation because my bacon was like a rock and the potatoes soft. Then I be asked for real butter for my biscuits and was told they don't carry butter. ??!!??!! A restaurant doesn't carry butter??? Only margarine. My friend had ordered his omelet with jalapeños. Waitress said she didn't believe we carried them anymore but she would try. Turns out they don't have them. No problem. When I get the bill however there's an item marked Add Jalapeños. $0.50. We finished and go to the front to pay and stood there for at least 10 minutes waiting on someone to help us check out. I had wanted to use my Ibotta app to do a Bob Evans gift card because they were offering a nice 7% cash back. Must of the cards have 1, 2, or3% back so 7 was cool. From past experience when using a gift card here the mgr needs to add the tip in before presenting the gift card because it won't let them run a gift card just for a tip. Seems strange but the many times I've done it in the past had got me accustomed to the way it needed to be done and the managers had told me what to say to the cashier so they knew what to do. When someone finally arrived to check us out I mentioned the charge for the peppers and she said oh I already removed that. I guess I'm wondering why I was given a bill with the charge on it when she had removed the charge. She then said "I'll reprint it so you can see I really removed it". Gee thanks for offering to give me an accurate bill. Then I told her about the tip and the gift card and she said oh we can't do that we need a method of payment first. I explained how all the managers would add the tip in and she just said flat out we can't do that. All in all, what was supposed to be a return to Inside dining after such a long 14 month absence and was looked forward to was quite a forgettable experience. The staff is super friendly, the food is always good (especially for the price), and it's just a great place to grab breakfast in the morning. Personally I love their sausage and gravy biscuits. HOW MANY DIFFERENT WAYS ARE THERE TO SAY TERRIBLE? My wife and I ordered 2 Turkey and Dressing Dinner Bell Plates for curbside pickup. I had tried this a few months ago and it was OK, for the price. Last night, not so much. This was perhaps the worst restaurant food I've ever experienced! We arrived right at the scheduled pickup time and the order was ready. But for how long had it been sitting, because less than 15 minutes later when we were eating it, it was barely lukewarm. The meal includes sliced turkey, dressing, and mashed potatoes. The potatoes had, at the very most, a teaspoon of gravy on top. And that was the end of the gravy. None on the dressing or turkey. Needless to say, what could have been acceptable dressing was REALLY dry! [How much does gravy cost? lol] And the turkey: just a couple of VERY small slices [just a few bites] that must have been leftover from Thanksgiving. It was very dry, tasteless, and as tough as shoe leather. If we'd eaten at the restaurant, these meals would have gone back! No way I would have paid for this crap. I"m not sure I'll ever try Bob Evans again for dinner or lunch. Their breakfasts are usually pretty decent for the price. read more

I've been forced to go to Bob Evans in many other states in the past by loved ones and never enjoyed it. NEVER! Their food has always been too greasy or gross and customer service terrible. So I stopped going and have not visited a Gross Evans in over 2 years. Well, that all changed with this particular location. Again, because of a loved one I decided to bite the bullet and go. At first, I was just going to have water, but decided to order a light meal of English Muffin, tomato with a side of fries. Loved one #1 else at my table got the fried mush (interesting), Loved one #2 the Southwest Salad and my husband got the veggie omelet. His omelet looked like it had been involved in a knife fight with a gang of mushrooms as the egg was all macerated with it's insides leaking out. Appealing, huh. Everyone, including me, enjoyed their meal although my husband did say that his slashed up omelet was just okay. This is his typical response so I'm not considering it in my rating, which was difficult as my meal was rather simple, so I rated based on my loved one's (minus husbands) experience. What I will say that impressed me was that 2 of their managers came to our table at different times to see how everything was. I was more impressed by this act because outside of taking our order, bringing water, and giving us our check, we never saw our server/waiter. I ran out of water and was licking the condensation on the outside of the glass (not really, but I didn't have anymore water and never got a replacement). read more

Seeing how much I love breakfast its breakfast all the way when I visit Bobby Evans. This location is within my 2 mile bubble and I always ask for Danielle; she is PROficient, remembers what I like to drink and pretty much what I like to eat. Now, I don't come in weekly, more like twice a month and for her to remember moi... Says a heck of a lot! Yes, it's a chain but I keep it simple and easy. I like 3 egg whites scrambles, bacon crispy and dry, toast and sometimes tomato slices (today I opted for no tomatoes). Danielle knows I like the "breakfast blend" coffee and brings that with a large water & lemon...no questions. I know, some of you might think it's not hard to get a good breakfast out but I would disagree. My egg whites are always cooked perfect, not runny and not burned up dry. The perfect piggy strips are always crisp and never greasy. I have been to many places that breakfast was just an after thought and comes out slopped onto the plate..no thank you. The food was good and our server was good as well. But we couldn't help but feel grossed out when she coughed right onto the coffee pot, more than once. She had both hands occupied, but you can still cough into your elbow or shoulder, but no, she coughs DIRECTLY onto the lid of the coffee pot. We didn't drink anymore coffee after that. First time at a Bob Evans, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. Wait was only 10 minutes around noon on a Sunday. Customer service was very friendly from the hostess, to the waiter, the managers and the cashier. My husband and I both ordered Farmer's Breakfasts, his with Brioche French Toast topped with Blueberry topping and mine with Fruit N Nut Multigrain Pancakes. For being a "Bob Evans", I was really expecting the sausage to blow me away...not quite. I will say that the link sausage my husband ordered, was better than the patties I ordered. Everything else was really good though; especially the pancakes and french toast. For beverages, we ordered OJ and Sweet Tea. Both were good; OJ was Florida's Natural, which I really prefer to Minute Maid, and the sweet tea was actual brewed tea not the powdered stuff. They also offer bakery items and candles for sale. Overall, I am really happy with the quality of the food and service and would definitely return. I did notice that your experience can be vastly different depending on your service. I haven't eaten here for probably 17 years. They open for breakfast @ 6. Okay on this day 6:05. Two of us were promptly seated. I ordered coffee and my meal. The coffee came quickly. My meal didn't. First I got the other guy's order, then mine came. The eggs were swimming in liquid. The home fries were more like boiled potatoes. It just wasn't appetizing. My last visit I was asked by three different Managers how everything was going. A rather aggressive way to make sure people are happy, but this is why you get a four star review instead of a standard three. Food is always good, but nothing to rave about. We stopped here recently on our trip to Ft Myers , I had been here before years ago on a trip to PA and found it was a good alternative to the other cozy comfort restaurants. After mulling through thier extensive menu for at least 10 minutes which is not good for me being that I can be indecisve since I like mostly everything (in terms of food) I ordered the Pot Roast sandwich on grilled sourdough that came with fries and slaw and ordered a side salad. It was good , pot roast was moist and flavorful but about average at best..GF ordered the classic breakfast with bacon and eggs that accompanied 2 Biscuits and Gravy. I think the B&G were the best thing with her choice, bacon was dry and eggs seemed microwaved. This experience was decent but not the best execution of what BE is about. I rate them above Denny's but below Cracker Barrel in terms of cheap , but good quality breakfast and lunch choices. read more

We were not the only ones complaining, at least 3 other tables had similar experiences. Everyone spoke with the asst manager but nothing seemed to improve. She needs more training and experience, appears to be trying but ... Breakfast and lunch meals are a totally different experience. Service is exceptional and kitchen in run efficiently. As the other reviewer said, it's traditional American food. Nothing fancy, lots of things like pot roast, mac-n-cheese, soups, etc. The food is fine -- a little salty, perhaps, but generally fine. The service was a little underwhelming (when a customer does the "slurp air through a straw while you walk by" thing, it's a good indication that they want their drink refilled, no? Our waitress missed it twice when she came to bus the tables around us.), but the prices were decent and I'll say that my pot roast sandwich was actually pretty good. The potato soup was bland, aside from the salt (although the bacon and chives on top were a nice touch). The waitress did try to sell us a quart of soup (for $5) to take home, which I found kind of odd; I'd just finished a meal with soup, if I took soup home with me, it'd get cold before I ate it. However, I might file the information away if I'm ever in the area and get a hankering for soup to take home. Oh, wait, soup is cheap and easy to make at home; nevermind. I wrote it off as not-very-well-thought-through corporate initiative -- sell more high-margin soup! Today 5/17/19 @ 12:30 PM I got this urge to have breakfast for lunch. I love good breakfast sausage patties and thought what better place than the restaurant that started out as a pork sausage plant. I have eaten there many times over the years, but its been over a year since my last visit and now today this is my LAST visit forever. "Gloria" provided great quick service and kept the coffee cup full. Now as I write this my stomach gurgling and making noises. The sausage patties were lean and cooked nicely. However they tasted terrible! Very salty, no zing and and maybe old or un-refrigerated. At any rate my tummy is now mad at me. The pancakes would have been great if they were fully cooked but the cook was in a hurry and didn't leave them on the griddle long enough after the flip. Yep, served raw side down. 60 more seconds is all they needed. read more

This is my first and last time here. Kay our server seemed sweet but just because I wanted to know if the fish is farm raised or wild I get a look!?!? I enjoy going out to eat occasionally with my parents but try to be cautious as to what I'm eating. Sorry if that's a problem!! Look I've been a server I get it. I'm not one of those needy pain in the butt customers! I understand the people they have to deal with so I try not to ask for much. My mom was even upset with the way we were treated and felt she shouldn't get a tip. She also stated that she is not allowed to mention the banana nut bread or other specialty breads because she could get in trouble since it was after 5 pm!! Must be a Bob Evens requirement / does the manager ever work the floor there always in the kitchen. The food comes in the back door goes out the front. This tells me your too concerned with food cost. Every thing you do effects the front of the house and effects your servers tips and most of all customer service. Why don't you spend your time training your employees. If you had check lists in place and did your job running the restaurant and not in an hourly position. I've been in hundreds of Bob Evans and there all the same no manager. I knew my customers and most of all worked with my employees to better the service and there money. Trust me they make money and you will make money. The money is in front of you. read more

I have to drop a star! Down on our farm we had/have real cream. Now it's easier to put half and half in a plastic cup with preservatives to keep it edible(if it is anyway) when it isn't that much more to blend cream from fridge and milk from fridge into dispenser. Zero stars...Mistakes are made I totally understand, that being said, when our food was delivered we were missing my child's meal amongst other items, our food was cold, soup was split all over the bottom of the bag leaking everywhere, and the slices of peanut butter pie were melted into a pile of soup. So obviously I called the restaurant to see if they could at least just send the rest of our food. I allegedly spoke with the manager who told me I could have some coupons or be reimbursed for only the missing items. I then asked the manager if they could just send the food that they forgot to put in our delivery bags, being a whole meal was missing. I had no other option than to get delivery because my kids were both ill and I could not leave the house with them. The manager who seemed to care less said yes and she would call me back when they had an ETA for the driver. (Given it was ordered from Grubhub which it's not Grubhubs fault being the driver is just a driver and does not work for bob evans) So being the manager had specifically told me that someone would be able to bring our missing food I thought the problem was fixed. Some time goes by and it turns out she was lying and no one was going to bring our missing meals and she just refunded the missing food behind my back instead and now we are missing an entire meal amongst other things. Why lie and not just say that's not going to be an option? Just makes the whole situation worse. Such horrible service, first and last time at this particular bob Evans. So unprofessional and messy. And for A manager to lie to their customer? Ridiculous, rude and horrible customer service. read more
