I don't mean to sound cliche but these folks are a diamonds...and not rough ones…read more I needed a same day ring appraisal for 3 rings for insurance purposes and I called 8 other local jewelers before finding Matt and Kaitlyn at the Diamond Room in Austin. It seems to be a common theme in the jewelry industry that there's a traveling appraiser that visits each jeweler only once every month or two so it's difficult to get a same day appointment. The Diamond Room gave me a same day appointment and excellent service in their beautiful and private Austin location. But I have to write this review because they went way beyond what I expected. They gave an excellent appraisal of course but also inspected, cleaned and polished my rings. The Crown Jewel is that they use appraisal software that hooks into the top rated jewelry insurance company and my appraisals were automatically connected and within 24 hours my application for a policy was accepted and my jewelry insured. I had already shopped around and the price I was offered was fantastic. And the best part...wait for it...is that I never have to get appraisals every few years. Now that my jewelry is described and documented in the system the appraisals are automatically updated annually. With the price of gold doing crazy things...this is huge...and it saves me a lot of time, effort and money. I'd say that it will actually pay for itself from this day forward. Thank you Matt, Kaitlyn, and Daniel! I appreciate all you were able to do for me.

The team (they've definitely grown!) is amazing and so welcoming for any jewelry needs even down to me buying my watch battery replacement with them I have bought already made jewelry - they have a great show room. I've also created custom jewelry with them. My ex-husband made my engagement ring custom with them secretly. After we were engaged I custom created his wedding band to commemorate his grandfather who had passed away and he wanted his old wedding ring. Matt designed it PERFECTLY I'm now in the process of repurposing some stones from some old jewelry and creating a custom ring! Seriously, if you've never designed your own jewelry I highly recommend it's a blast and so meaningful. I also just found out they buy jewelry, certain metal (I had a random ounce of pure silver ‍) and some coins too which I never knew until the other day. I did my due diligence: found every website I could find, read every review and most importantly I poured over every image in their portfolios. I wanted to make sure who ever I chose had a great eye for design. My choice was clear, I chose Villarreal Fine Jewelers. I set up an appointment, I met with Malcolm and it was the start of a wonderful experience. In our initial conversation, I showed him photos of things I liked and detailed things I disliked. Malcolm started sketching and we talked some more. He had enough information to come up with some concepts and set up a follow up meeting. I returned to look at the concepts and that was when we started collaborating on the design - was thoroughly a fun experience for me. We kept iterating until we finally came up with a final design. Malcolm made sure every detail was addressed wanting to make it perfect. Malcolm kept me informed throughout the process and one day I got an email from Malcolm that the ring was ready. I walked in, she revealed the right, I LOVED the final product. A beautiful ring that I will be happy to wear every day and show off for years to come. I highly recommend this experience, as a matter of fact Malcolm and I talked about future project.

We came across Ricky Wilson when my boyfriend's watch needed a new battery. We went to a jewelry shop located on Anderson Lane and they said it would cost $50. That seemed a bit high to me. Dorothy made me a reasonable offer for a handful of gold, and the time frame November 2024. However, because it was coming up to the holidays and end of the year 2024. Dorothy asked if she could put two of our rings on consignment. (Consignment means she will display the rings in her shop and if and when the rings sell she would pocket 10% of the total of what each ring sold for and I was honest and upfront from the first day we spoke. I approved/agreed to list these two rings and I stated what the start of each rings (asking price). Fast forward 1 year later. I havent been in contact with Dorothy regarding my ring status. I am always told "I will call you right back", "chill just chill", "Waiting on the jewelry to be reset" then it would be given back to me. I drove to Dorothy's twice which is over an hour away from my home. It wasn't until the first week in March I finally got my mother-in-laws ring back.
