Entrance is on Forest and is clearly marked. You walk in and there is sooo much to see! Cue the candy store memories as a child. I quickly lifted my jaw and stepped to the side and started taking pictures. This store is nicely set up with wood, glass, and some brass accents for a nice look. They truly have a VAST selection of all spirits offered. Some items, that are rare, or higher priced are locked in glass cases. All the information you need is right there in the open. There were two clerks working the front. When no one was waiting to check out, they walked the floor looking in on all to see if we had any questions. Saw one man go to counter and ask questions, the clerk was friendly and knowledgeable about the offerings he was looking for. I found my Jameson with a few variations to choose from. Cask-mates stout is a favorite but not always available. Black label was on the shelf with two sizes to choose from. Now for a beverage for a holiday gathering. Looking for something on the berry side but not loaded with sugar. They had a huge of beers, seltzers, ales, and ciders to choose from. Wasn't feeling the seltzers which I do enjoy, today I was feeling a cider. I chose the BRLO Berlin Cider "Dark and Wild" mixed berries. Then an Ale caught my eye in a tall off white bottle with a swivel cork top. Delirium Red; Belgian ale with cherry and elderberry!! Yes please! They have other flavors too. Checking out was easy. A few registers with last minute adds for review. Best one; they had an Advent calendar of Beers and Ales genius! If you are looking for a special gift, a tried and true, or up for an adventure; head to Bow Street beverage on Forest Ave. in Portland, minutes from 295 too!

It is cornered right next to Super Scoops and there is one main reason why I continue to come back to this little place .. the people. There really is nothing that much different about this little place where it is similar to any other convenience store but the folks here are super friendly and super nice. Every single time I come in they always spark up some conversation with you and brighten your day but not in a creepy and annoying way that most might find early in the morning grabbing a quick bite in the morning. They offer breakfast sandwiches, pizza slices and burgers to go along with all of the typical fares from a gas station/convenienece store. The only part that I dislike about this place is the price of gas compared to other parts of the state. I know it being in Falmouth makes it tougher because most everything in that sity is super expensive but, you could drive about 5 miles away toward Portland or South Portland and save about 10-15 cents sometimes. Check it out if you are passing through.

They also offer appetizers, made to order subs/wraps, burgers, salads, pizza, and wings. I stopped in here to pick up some lunch before heading to the beach. The place was very busy with a steady line of customers and one cashier in training running the checkout counter. I headed to the back of the store and ordered a Chicken Tenders Sub ($8.99 plus tax) with lettuce, tomato, onions, & mayo and a slice of Bacon Tomato Pizza ($2.75 plus tax) from the heated case. Chicken Tenders were taken out of the heated case and chopped up into smaller pieces for the sub. However, the breaded chicken tenders were very dry & crumbly mixed in with the lettuce, tomato slices, onions, and mayo on chewy sub roll. I would've thought they would deep fry the tenders fresh if I was ordering a made to order sub. The bacon pizza slice was pretty decent with a chewy soft crust.

She went in and got a large onion ring, 3 burgers, mozzarella sticks and a slice of pizza from the hot box and she notices a light brown/dirty blonde 2" piece of hair sticking out of the pizza. At this time she respectfully points it out to the cashier & in turn says to my daughter in a very snide tone, "uhh no that's just cheese from your mozzarella sticks." My daughter responded with, "No Ma'am that's hair not cheese." And in the meantime because it is indeed disgusting, my daughter doesn't want to hold this piece of hair she drops it on the floor and wipes her hands off. Cashier calls over Samantha, "the store manager"; at this point the cashier states that the "alleged" complaint my daughter was stating was about mozzarella cheese and not a piece of hair. Samantha proceeded to belittle and degrade her by telling her that she could have that very piece of pizza for free cause she didn't have the hair in question to prove that it was true and she wasn't just attempting to get food for free. When my daughter politely declined and said she'd throw that piece out and would get a different piece and take that free piece as conciliation; Samantha argued that she would pay for the piece out of the hot box that was different then the current one on the counter. This entire power play would've never transpired if it were a grown adult as she would've known she couldn't have gotten to use her position as an attempt at power play. What a pathetic excuse of a grown woman. Shameful!

I checked out the pizza first and they had 2 styles ready, a regular slice and a French bread style pizza. I saw various sandwiches and subs and burgers and then I saw ham cheese and bacon. Yup bacon got my attention so I grabbed it and headed up to pay. I think it cost like $6.50 once it rang up. I was hoping it'd be good but I was surprised once I opened it to see so much bacon. Today we went back in at lunch break and I grabbed another one and it was just as good as yesterday, just as much bacon. Eric grabbed mozzarella sticks and a ready to go steak and cheese sub. I stole a mozzarella stick and it had the nice crunch before you get the milky pop from the cheese inside. With the 1 mozzarella stick and 1/2 the ham cheese and bacon sandwich I was full and pretty happy.
