And their portion of goujons was massive. Eight in all I think. Everyone else enjoyed their food too. But the service let the Duiske Inn down a lot. They appeared to be understaffed and it was a very busy Sunday. There was initially two floor staff, a barman and a waitress. A second barman appeared later just as we finished eating. That said the first barman played a blinder and was really doing his best to serve drinks, take food orders and get new patrons seated. If it wasn't for him I reckon we would have walked out without eating. The waitress came and went less frequently. She chatted to patrons she knew. A-ok, more so if you've more than one dedicated staff member on the floor.

The food was all very good, but the service really stood out. We had two toddlers in our group and were never made to feel they were a hassle (something we often feel eating out, but hey I get it, I own one, toddlers are tough going!!) and in fact the staff did their utmost to keep the kids happy and entertained, even bringing out a puppet at one point.
