I have purchased games from Boardlandia on four separate occasions, and have been in to look numerous other times. I am always greeted warmly by the employees. They are always friendly and knowledgeable about all the board games they have in the store, and even others that they might not carry, but know about. Board games can be quite pricey, but Boardlandia is actually cheaper than the other games stores in Appleton. I was looking at a certain game to give as a gift for Christmas. On Amazon it was $37, another area game store had it for $47 Boardlandia had it for around $39 So I bought it from them cause...You know...shop local and stuff...! read more

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great selection of games and they are happy to spend time with you to explain and often times even demo the game. Prices are ok, but not unreasonable for a small locally owned business. They offer some game nights as well which is nice. read more

Great selection of games and good sales. but read the fine print. They will charge 5% of items not purchased but put in their weird, not shipping cart. I won't do business with them anymore regardless of the sale. read more

I was looking to pick up a miniature set for the thing board game and simply could not find it anywhere. I saw it offered at boardlandia for a pretty decent price and went for it. Ordering from a local store you don't know can be weird sometimes, but not in this case. I received excellent email communication about my order, tracking numbers and my miniatures should be here any minute now. I would not hesitate ordering something that I cannot get anywhere else, from boardlandia! read more

7 orders and several hundreds of dollars later, Boardlandia continues to be an awesome and reliable place for me to buy from (especially for Arkham Horror). The deals are great, the customer service is awesome, shipping is speedy, and I've yet to have any problems with Boardlandia. Still highly recommended. read more

I was excited to receive my new order of the Catan game. What I received was an incomplete game with duplicate cards. Because of this I am unable to play the game. This is very depressing.! read more

Good prices but shipping is SO SLOW! Two weeks is simply no longer acceptable - especially if you are paying for shipping. They offer expedited "handling" for ten bucks a month as part of their loyalty program. All this means is that you can bribe them into letting your package get a cut in the line. Hardly seems like a way to endear customers. The prices aren't THAT much less. I'm going to shop elsewhere. read more

Customer service is way above anything else. Always willing to go the extra mile. Prices are very competitive even with online games stores and they have an amazing loyalty scheme where you can earn points that can be used for discount off future purchases. Have been buying games from them for years and wholeheartedly recommend them. To the person that posted the 1-star review. Contact the owner she is really really helpful and I'm sure would make it right. As for taking orders before they have it in stock, for a lot of games that is standard but I do know they got stiffed by their games distributor who kept failing to deliver. The 15% restocking fee for an unshipped order doesn't sound right though, but again, contact the owner. read more

Great prices and an awesome gaming area! Snacks and drinks are available and there are a handful of good food options nearby too. read more

Best game store I've ever been to, bar none. Friendly staff, great selection, fair prices, and used games for sale. They can order anything so I buy everything here. read more

I've purchased from Boardlandia's online store multiple times, and have always been met with enthusiastic and friendly customer service. The pricing is outstanding as well as transparency from the owners. They were very understanding in delivering my purchases in a timely manner and communicative throughout. Items were delivered in great condition as well. Highly highly recommended for board game purchases! read more

It's amazing to be able to get something locally and pay nearly the same price as I could find it online. I'm willing to pay a little bit more to support local shops, but I don't feel like I'm getting gouged here. They also have an impressive and unique selection of children's games too. Parking is a little bit of a pain, but that's really my biggest complaint. read more

Best board game store in Appleton. CoolStuffInc prices but with a local game guru to chat with and learn about all the great new stuff coming out. If you live anywhere in the area you owe it to yourself to check out this place. The website is also superb, order online and they'll deliver it to your house. Yes, deliver! Preorder the hottest GenCon titles, plus earn rewards over time as you build up your purchase history. I doubt I'll ever buy from CSI or Amazon again. Why would you when you can get the same price or better, never pay shipping and support your local economy. Boardlandia, my favorite game store! read more

If zero stars were available, that would be my review. I decided to order a board game from this firm instead of Amazon during the COVID crisis to try and show support for smaller companies. I ordered a Christmas gift for my wife on December 11. A few days before THE day, I still had no game and no information about when I would get it. I got a response on 12/23 from staffer saying they "were a small firm with "12 employees" and they were still trying to ship Black Friday orders, that is orders from 11/27. I asked to cancel the order and the same staffer said I could cancel but it would be subject to a "15%" RESTOCKING.fee. I was outraged. How can anyone in their right mind ask for a restocking fee FOR SOMETHING THAT HAS NEVER SHIPPED. OF COUSRE, IF I WOULD TAKE STORE CREDIT, THEY WOULD WAIVE THE FEE. I was even more outraged. It appears their business model is to rip off customers who happen to stumble across their site. Oh, I forgot to mention my outrage was fueled by the fact they hit my credit card AS SOON ASTHE ORDER WAS TRANSMITTED. I have not experienced this kind of fraud since the early days of the internet these days, virtually no e-tailer hits your card while going nothing to earn that money. To complete the saga, my package arrived January 8. MERRy CHRISTMAS BOARDLANDIA. Post script: After this experience I looked for reviews of Boardlandia and found a few that complained about this company taking orders before having stock. Not sure that was the issue here, but the message is the same as mine. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER BUYING FROM BOARDLANDIA OF APPLETON WISCONSIN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. read more
